I'm a very new investor, but why in the hell is shorting even legal? That seems so counterproductive to the entire act of investing. Just seems so ridiculous to even exist. It's like having the flu and being in the hospital and there are some doctors who will give you a dose of flu medicine and other doctors who will give you a dose of an even worse strain of flu, just depends on which doctor has your room number during their shift. Just makes zero sense to me.
