I think we were talking about two separate things. The SEC is a threat to companies with questionable securities practices, which is why they've targeted some MJ stocks. All MJ stocks certainly aren't engaged in these questionable practices, but some are obviously.

The SEC's primary role is not to investigate whether or not a company is violating federal drug laws. That responsibility belongs to the DEA and FBI. So if the federal government wanted to shut down a MJ company for growing marijuana in a state where it is legal according to state laws (a scenario which is highly unlikely), they'd probably send the DEA, not the SEC.
