I think these financials are going to take longer to get than people think, especially if you're having to go back several years. As a former auditor, I can tell you that before you even start testing the validity of the numbers that management provides (and who knows what the quality of those numbers were), you first have to test all the important internal controls in order to determine the extent of substantive testing to be done.

This is something, for a large public company, that is not usually done in only a couple of weeks. I'm hoping they started this process several months ago but if management just gave them numbers a week or two ago and auditors have been busy on other companies, I think it'll be at least another couple weeks before the auditors sign off on them.

Hopefully it'll be sooner rather than later but I for one am not holding my breath.
