Absolutely. MM's do it all the time. They too are in this game to make money by buying and selling shares. Many times on stocks we see a sharp drop of 50% in a few seconds. Often they see many limit orders down at lower levels and will bring the pps down just to grab those shares and then move it right back up. MM's are about as slick as they come.
