Nothing strange about it.

1. See the Inq discussion of L3 on Opterons and on the FX parts, and the 2/15 xbitlabs article detailing the changes made to Rev F parts, based on the japanese presentation.

2. custom demos and drivers both mentioned in the Anand article you quoted.
