The only film from this list that seems overtly mainstream is "The Notebook." If you mean to imply that "Yellow" is too artsy and has a niche audience, then I would have to disagree. A movie that appears to have a similar jive to "Yellow" that was recently released was "The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty" and it grossed $58.2 million at the box office alone. Also, the main character in "Yellow" is an adult woman with mental/emotional issues and painted in an unconventional spotlight so I bet women will go flocking to this film and bring with them their boyfriends/husbands.
"Someone else posted similar information but I wanted to make a new post. This is the box office and worldwide revenues for Nick Cassavetes' most noteworthy films. It is interesting to note that Nick Cassavetes films hover around 50% for the critics meter on Rotten Tomatoes (except for John Q.) I have mildly high expectations for Yellow and looking at these numbers, I think a minimum of $30,000,000 worldwide is very reasonable.
