It doesn't need to "fit" with previous launch patterns. Intel needs a competitive dual core chip ASAP, and that's Dempsey, and the soonest it's available is May. And to reverse the market share loss, they need an even better design, and that's Woodcrest. And I think Intel will launch it as soon as it's ready. You can assume that they will wait to "fit" with prior launches at your own peril.
