I learned my own methods of investing over the past 15yrs and now days I almost never take a long position unless I see something very interesting. I do a lot of day trades per year and come out with great returns. I'm currently still working a day job, but hoping that within a year I'll finally be able to retire to day trading. I don't need a lot of money to live comfortably and in the workforce I'll never make very much so to me the step to full time trading isn't a big leap.

That sad, I gave up spreading money around lots of positions long ago in favor of going "all in" on each trade and focusing on that single trade to see it through. Most of the time is lasts about 10min to 1 hr, if its going well sometimes I hold the position through most of the trading day then I always exit before the bell. I found this makes me the most money and reduces my risk greatly even though the method you talk about would think I'm being way to risky.

I guess I have all my eggs in one basket, but I don't take my eyes off the basket, LOL.

I don't have much money in MRIB, as I said I don't take long positions much. I do however have enough that if this thing hits dollar land I'll feel like I won the lottery.
