Medicinal marijuana is now legal in 20 states and the District of Columbia, with more states set to consider decriminalizing the drug altogether. Canada, another big market, is to make it easier for medicinal cannabis to be grown on an industrial scale.
"It is not just shares in marijuana growers that are blossoming," according to the BBC. "Companies selling a wide variety of marijuana-related products, from vapor inhalers to cannabis vending machines, are all seeing their stock rise."
Shannon Illingworth, Founder and Chairman of AVT, said that the company is well-positioned to benefit from the growth in the marijuana industry. "We manufacture a variety of systems for our clients in this rapidly expanding industry," he commented. "As more states and countries move toward legalization, we believe our clients will see a significant increase in business, which could translate into more manufacturing orders for us."
According to the BBC, Todd Harrison, formerly of Morgan Stanley and now the founder of a prominent investment news website, said: "It's the single best investment idea of the next decade."
