Penton Announces New Services for Associations

Forms Business that Provides Publishing, Web, Ad Sales and Event Support for Professional/Trade Associations and Foundations


CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 15, 2006--Joe Pulizzi, Group Director of Penton Custom Media, today announced that Penton has formed a business unit focused on serving professional and trade Associations and Foundations. "Penton has always had Associations as clients," remarked Pulizzi, "but we now have a business focused on this market. Our service offering provides complete support with resources in four key areas: publications, Web, advertising sales and events."

Penton currently publishes over 50 different magazines spanning an array of interests and markets. Publication support offered to Associations will leverage these capabilities by offering award-winning editorial, design, production and distribution. Publication formats will include printed magazines, newsletters, electronic magazines and e-Newsletters.

Web-based products and services have been the fastest growing and most requested areas at Penton. Interactive Web sites, eZines, e-Newsletters, Webcasts and Online Trade shows are among several services offered.

Advertising sales support is an area that few custom publishers provide to their clients. However, Penton has created a dedicated Ad Sales group and also leverages the ad sales teams of the many publications it produces. Penton is able to offer help in selling ads for magazines; banner ads for online media; exhibitor space for conferences or trade shows; and sponsorships for a variety of programs.

Trade show and conference support is a key service for Associations and Foundations. Penton now can assist with the planning and execution of events, selling participation to exhibitors and sponsors and conducting online trade shows.

Ken most recently was in charge of business development at The Magazine Group where he helped clients with strategy, planning and execution. Thomas Corcoran, an industry veteran, brings many years of experience and national expertise to this team, including President of Custom Publishing at The Magazine Group. He will focus on ad sales, trade show exhibitor participation, online ad sales and sponsorship activities. Terrence Grogan recently joined Penton after a successful stint as both President of Sports Challenge Group and President of Professional Trade Shows. Widely known as an expert in marketing and event operations, he will coordinate Penton's diverse resources to tailor the most effective program for Association clients.
