One thing that hasn't been mentioned here and I know because I've had a 4K set for close to a year now is connectivity. That is, let's say the np-1 is real and will be delivered soon which I seriously doubt, it only has one HDMI output. What this means is you have to connect it directly to your 4K set unless you have a new pre-pro or A/V receiver that has 4K passthru. You can watch the 4K picture on your set and only use your set's speaker system and not your stereo's. To play through your stereo system it needs to go through your 4K receiver or you will need to get a splitter that can split 4K material and then hope that there will not be a delay in picture/sound. That's the problem with Sony's X1 player for their 4K set. Sony is addressing this and will be replacing it with a new device that has more than one HDMI output as well as the latest 4K adapters.
