Since there was no indoor growing, I can only imagine sprawling farms with a small plot of cannabis or hemp here and there.

PHOT and other companies in this sector can thank some of our greatest ancestors for their success today.

For the record/History Lesson: Less than 100 years ago the number 1 crop in the USA was HEMP. It was used for ropes (shipping) books/newspaper, clothing or just about everything.

George Washington and Thomas Jefferson are well documented as having their own MJ plots as it was very common. George or Thomas (can’t remember which) is quoted as saying that he enjoyed nothing better than sitting on his porch overlooking his farm while smoking his favorite hemp in a pipe on a rocking chair.

It should not come as a surprise then that Randolph Hearst, who owned millions of acres of timber for his newspapers and a small company called DuPont who had just come out with a new product called nylon (think ropes etc.) wanted to see hemp go away. The oldest books that exist today are written on hemp which was much cheaper than paper. Then throw in the cotton companies (clothing) and a few others and you see why hemp was made illegal.

With the help of it’s sister product MJ they were able to make it a racial, lower class threat to a predominately white society. Thus hemp was banned along with MJ.

Of course I have only been involved with every aspect of this product from seed to sale for over forty years so you might want to double check with some of our more knowledgeable/seasoned posters to confirm.
