I agree with you about the corroboration, OC.

I think ERHC has been working quietly behind the scenes to promote the furtherance of work in the JDZ. In fact, I would conjecture that they are the best resource that the JDA has in the JDZ to that end. Everyone else seems to have thrown in the towel.

In that e-mail I referred to earlier, Dan also remarked:

I don’t mean to imply that any additional exploration is planned. At this time we continue to await a determination by the Joint Development Authority regarding how exploration will proceed. My explanation is simply a description of the current understanding of the JDZ and the exploration model that would be necessary going forward. Much additional work would be needed in order to map the sub-detachment zone and, at this time this has not been agreed upon or planned.

His comments indicate that ERHC knows the JDZ probably as well as anyone and is likely more motivated than any other company to pitch it. The slide I embedded in my previous post from Peter's Namibia presentation, which I have blown up below, reinforces that idea to me.

As shown by the red rectangle, one of the main faults from the sub-detachment does extend into Block 3. I just wonder what the chances of finding oil under or above it would be? I also wonder what the three lavender dots with lines extending off the slide signify? In any case, it appears they have done a fair bit of analysis post-drilling. It's hard to believe, given the neighborhood, that there isn't accessible oil somewhere in the JDZ.
