Well even a private company owes it's share holders info depending on how they set things up.

The point is not private public, it's that owning stock makes you an owner


But a few million shares is not even 1% ownership. And many companies have it so you can only request at 5 or 10%.
So, spend 100x more money and you can request :p. maybe lol
