This either my second to last post for the day or the last. I'm going to hit a few different posts.
I think the stock is worth trading. Get in for the right price and sell for a profit. It also is probably worth investing in, but it's more of a gamble.
Yes, I have a bias against Benny. I try not to allow it affect my trading judgement. Some of the press releases have been less than honest, especially compared to the 8K filing that accompanied them ( the Iconic share purchase plan was PR'd as a line of credit). The Red Giant website used to imply that Red Giant had a stake in all the films they tout on the site, they don't. It's more of a cross promotion amount several companies, unless Red Giant makes a comic/graphic novel about the film. There are other instances of Benny being less than honest, but that is where my bias is based. I let my bias show, but try not to let it affect my judgement.
I am not in the industry. I did grow up reading comic books. I was also a weekend convention dealer in comic books and other collectibles. My educational background is in science, my professional background is in research.
The next 10Q should be out around the 15th. It should show some of the sales through Diamond.

Go pick up a modern comic book from several publishers. Count the number of ads in the book, then count the number of those ads by companies not affiliated with the comic publisher. Marvel tends to do the best in getting other companies to advertise. The independents do the worst.
I do think there are enough companies around that can get their money's worth out of advertising in comics. Red Giant may lock up the market by going after these companies. They will need 20 to 30 advertisers per week, some may be the same but a lot will be different. They will need to continuously seek advertisers. That is where the risk is.
