Can some one give an reasonable answer as to why a public company, especially a startup, is obligated to provide information to investors, who purchase on an open market, since none of their funds helps the advancement of the company.
I'm I wrong in understanding that the funds used to purchase stock on the open market goes into the pockets of the shareholder & market makers and not the company?
