This discussion seems to miss the significance of subjectivity.

Opinions are, by definition, subjective. That's why they are so diverse. In the case of iHub, the controlling opinions are those of the folks who make the site available to us. We may disagree with them, but they are not constrained to accept our opinions. Although they accept public criticism, I prefer to express critical thoughts in private messages. I've never gotten pleasure from castigating others in public. That may flow from my "Do unto others ..." approach to life.

I am a guest on this site. I paid for my membership, but don't feel that payment entitles me to more than the privilege of participating, respectfully, in discussions that interest me. I believe I've been called a "lackey" for holding this view, but I don't recall that the critic offered a better alternative vision.

It's obvious that cowards, protected by the anonymity of the internet, like to spew venom and nonsense, and, like spoiled children, disrupt the rational flow of useful information. I'm glad that iHub's management has the patience, fortitude and judgment to deal with these people. There are many parts of iHub I've never visited, but, of those I frequent, what I see is Matt offering guidance and encouragement, trying to help such folks become useful members of the community.

As I said at the beginning, this topic is subjective. What I've written here is nothing but my opinion. Yours may differ.
