"... asked several times if anyone else was having probs
...the answer was always no."

Sometimes what appears as a problem is really the person :o)

No, I'am not talking about Susie :o)

ok, Lets examine the "just before" the problem.

Everything is going bright-eye bushy-tail and irreproachably wrapped tight.

Yes, I'am not talking about Susie :o)

ok, Lets bring in the experience of: Fred The Truck Driver.

Driving a truck or surfing the web, one needs to know status
of the parts we use having potential to make us discombobulated.

oil pressure, temperature of coolant, window wiper blade edge

That t.v. Honda Accord car ad on the quiet engine that when running
at an idle while the car is stopped requires one to glance at
the rpm gage to know for sure if the engine has been started, or not.

When you post a message here you mentioned:

"... type a post and hit submit...you see the IE thing
in the top right of your browser turning...but you never get
redirected to the post you just submitted..."

ok, So does your IE browser have any Bells & Whistles so that
you can have displayed something more descriptive than just
that IE thingie?

My Opera browser has them, telling me lots of "whats happening."

Using iHub is like driving a car. Looking out the front window
you see the conclusion of events you requested, but what about
the status between the request submitted, and the delivery?

On my Opera browser, upon a request, a status line at the bottom
of my screen will appear telling me whats what, and stuff that is
"needed to be" for the completion of the request.

Document: % done
Images: [how many done]/[total to do]
Total: [number of bytes transfered]
Speed: [of bytes being transfered]
Time: [seconds elapsed since request was submitted]
Receiving Data From: [the names of the web sites]

All the above are like real gages changing with events,
and initially I will see "Initiated Time-Out"
if the request does not go throught immediatly.

If there is no response initially, that becomes clear.

If response starts, but stops soon after, that becomes clear
and I simply wait about 10 - 30 seconds, and most times
the "gages" start updating with new values, but if not,
I do that Stop on my browser and hit Recycle to try over,
and many time a new request "connection" works ok.

I'am amazed watching the "Receiving Data From:" results,
as for example with my popup blocker on, and going into
the Dictionary.com web site, it will change a dozen times,
most all being ad related.

oops, Forgot another "gage" I have turned on.

Sound.

Just like that AOL sign-on "You got mail." that I replaced
with a smooth short chime melody, in Opera I selected to have
a user defined sound happen during a request started, and on
the request finished. This way I can close my eyes or simply
move them to do something like read or watch t.v. and know
that the request was started, and when it finished using
my ears to tell me of both. A simple easy on the ears bong
on start, and ding on completeion. If no ding after a dong,
well that the Churak type experience ;o)

We all know its hard on the eyes, neck and back using a pc.

With the bing & bong method I'am able to close my eyes,
lean back in the chair and raise my arms.

Versus tight eye stare at the screen you finished reading,
and neck & back extra tight as if to enter battle.

For me a long delay between a bing & bong is healthy.

It would be nice if those skilled in the IE browser could help
and identify similiar Bells & Whistles for IE users to use.
