ROV Services
Mako Technologies is bringing the latest ROV tooling technology to its rental fleet. We've responded to our customers' needs with the latest technology available in the ROV industry. Our ROV tooling rental fleet is growing with the addition of tools that have been most requested.
Mako Technologies’ rental ROV fleet includes two 1,500 m depth rated Lynx inspection / light work class ROVs, complete with control van and launch / recovery systems. In addition, we have three 300 m Falcons that are currently available to the offshore industry. In December 2008, Mako added a 3,000 m rated Super Mohawk ROV to our rental fleet.
The Super Mohawk ROV system
The Super-Mohawk ROV system, by Sub- Atlantic, can help complete any project that normally employs a work class vehicle. This fully electric ROV is extremely reliable and very low maintenance. Rated at 3,000 m, the Super-Mohawk is propelled by six CTE-02 brushless AC thrusters, each developing 45 kgf (100 lbf) of static thrust. With plenty of free space for additional devices, the Super-mohawk can support a range of sensors and equipment, including cameras, sonar’s, small and electric hydraulic manipulators, tool skids, small HPUs, and torque tools.
With a pan and tilt unit on the upper deck, its camera possesses three simultaneous video channels while lighting consists of 3 off 250-watt halogen lamps. Made of polypropylene, the Super-Mohawk has a rigid, open framed design that is high impact resistant and buoyant.
Please refer to our reference library for more information on the Super-Mohawk system.
The Seaeye Lynx
Widely considered to be the observation and inspection vehicle of choice within the oil and gas industry, the seaeye Lynx is increasingly chosen for its capabilities in deep water. The Lynx has a maximum working depth rating of 1,500 m and can perform well under strong water currents, achieving great ease for operators in handling.
The vehicle's polypropylene chassis has a stainless steel lift frame that is maintenance free, non-corroding, and self-supporting in seawater. The Lynx's design in syntactic foam makes it easy to handle. Besides having a wide range of interfaces available, the Lynx's brushless DC thrusters have great power density and precise and rapid thrust control. The lynx has two vertical and four horizontal vectored SM4 250 volt thrusters. A flux-gate compass, a rate gyro, and depth sensors comprise the auto pilot system. The ROV is complete with a video system, a 90 degree camera tilt platform, and 600 watts of lighting with individually fused lamps for brightness control.
Please refer to our reference library for more information on the Seaeye Lynx.
The Seaeye Falcon
With Power and versatility, the Falcon ROV is designed for coastal and inshore operations up to 300 m and fly away operations offshore. With a maximum umbilical length of 450m, the ROV is designed to have an umbilical upgrade up to 1100 m.
As it has a polypropylene chassis construction, this ROV is easily handled, buoyant and corrosion free. Ideal for use in sensitive areas, including fisheries or reefs, the Falcon MCT01 thrusters (4 vectored horizontal and 1 vertical) are magnetically coupled and run cool without oil. The Falcon's 480 TVL resolution color camera sits on an 180 degree platform and the F2 Fibre Optic pack (optional) provides 3 simultaneous video channels. Two forward facing Tungsten Halogen flood lights of 75 watts are fitted, though additional lights may be added.
The first ROV in its class to have a Distributed Intelligence System, 128 devices, including thrusters, lights, camera tilt motors, may be connected together on a single RS 485 serial network. These devices are then controlled individually by a master processor.
Please refer to our reference library for more information on the Seaeye Falcon.
New Tooling
Mako Technologies new line of ROV tools includes equipment that is smaller, lighter and more reliable than older systems. For example, Mako’s new torque tool, designed and built by OceanWorks Intl., is state-of-the-art in torque tool design. The Mako Torque Tool is compliant with API17D & H standards and provides the operator with a single tool with the capability to cover all four classes of torque rating (1 to 4), up to a maximum of 2,000 ft. lbs.
