Hi All, I am thinking of a new spreadsheet that will be able to be used with monthly investing or with starting out with a large sum. Not sure if I can do it, but will try. Part of the problem is I may have seen parts of the formula in other peoples spreadsheets or message posts, I just can't remember. Some of the people toes that I may be stepping on are Karw's, Myst's, Jibes's, 2mc's, Conrad and there may be others.

Here is what I am thinking. In AIM Mr. Lichello really wanted to add all of the buy to Portfolio Control, Jibes came up with using a percentage from the last buy/sell price as a check, that would work. I may throw that into my old AIM spreadsheet, and see what happens. But that is not for this new spreadsheet. In #msg-299195 Tom asked if I could get Synchrovest to work with a lump sum, that is what this spreadsheet will try to do. It may or may not work. But I will try, what I end up with will be like what some people have posted, or their spreadsheets. If you look at the new Synchrovest spreadsheet, you will see that I am fairly good at taking other peoples ideals and throwing them in a pot and getting a good stew out of it.

Ok enough talk here is the idea, keep track of total cost, this will go up and down as we buy and sell. Total cost/shares is average cost. Average cost is a lot like Portfolio Control in this spreadsheet. Between Myst, and Jibes, I have sub come to the idea that some times it is good to have a sell below average cost, if you get a buy lower than the sell! That way you lower average cost, which is a good thing, but I prefer to do most the selling above average cost, and most the buying below it. I think we can do it.
