All numbers....
"Is there any reason to believe that this management team cannot put together a production force of partners that will satisfy the demand for the implementation of the inventions when there are reported partners knocking at the door with the ability to put into place all of the missing ingredients that Torvec can utilize to “get the job done”?"
YES THERE IS A REASON NOT TO BELIEVE IT. Is there absolutely any reason to believe that. What proof do you have besides words.... CEO updates full of words..... the same words that were there 10 years ago and here we sit. You ask if there is any reason not to believe... I ask how am I supposed to believe. I remember 5 years ago sitting around saying "man these updates are great and we are right here on the verge of something big". All I have to show for it is a sore and stinky thumb.
It just seems like you are trying to use "hope" and "faith" as you reason to think this company is going somewhere. We don't need hope and faith we need management that will get off their sore stinky thumbs and do something besides write CEO updates.
I can't help but get excited reading that CEO update however I quickly realize that it is a mirror image of every other one that has come out. "We expect to do this and that and we are talking to all these people and we are really busy and all this stuff will be going on the next couple weeks". Please for the love of god let the words in this CEO update be real and actually make something happen.
Allnumbers... I think what dyna is saying is that none if it directly involves Torvec. You can pull the 5th degree of Kevin Bacon all you want to spin it your way but the only Torvec products out there right now are sitting in Rochester in their shop. I would bet with about 99% assurance that whatever limited slip differential that is going in that Focus is already in there and has already been fully integrated and tested. I don't see any possibility that Torvec has anything to do with Ford.... or Dodge or anybody right now.
Anyway... I'm going to hold my toung again for another month or two and see where we are then. I'm praying the 3-6mo speculation is right but I guess we will see.
It is very possible that I just missed all this stuff, but I feel like that initial really long post was written about that April meeting and then it never went anywhere. I can't find the original but I feel like there were a lot of promises that this and that would be reported, and then a ton of questions were asked, a TON, but not one single thing was ever answered. I only remember hearing something about an announcement over the PA system. Anyway maybe I'm missing something but I was just wondering where all the info on that meeting ever went.
This time I'm actaully sad that the stock price did exactly what I thought it would. One more data point to support the trend we see every time. This really suprises me with all that has happened this week.
Bummer.
Here is my post that got deleted that is now cleaned up. Again I apologize and it will not happen again. I'll also apoligize ahead of time to allnumbers.
I think this is great news and I don't think there was any fluff in that update today. I made some good money on the hike today and have no complaints. But look at the historical prices on the days following an update like this... goes up then comes right back down and that is a fact. Hopefully not this time but look at what history tells us.
I will say that this message, more than any of the others makes me excited about the idea we may be going somewhere now. It may not be tomorrow but at least this confirms that somebody is actually looking at the product with a possibility of buying more than one or two units, or putting something in an RIT indy car. This isn't some congress person giving us the usual politics and it isn't another fluffy CEO update. Someone other than torvec is going to take this thing and really put it to the test and see what it can do. I'll keep my 10 year old stock, the 5 year old stock and the stuff I bought today and just like always I'll sit here waiting to see what happens.
Did anyone else notice the update on the RIT car. Kind of neat to see what the students say. I still don't think it has any real significance but still cool to see the pics and what the students think.
Thank you very much for correcting me on the definition of a bargain and also more importantly for showing everyone on how I'm manipulating the stock. I mean your "fluff period" seems to have manipulated the stock so well that I just had to give it a try. It was just screaming through the roof before I cam along.
Dread can you ban me from posting anymore. My truthful comments and my sense of reality seem to be causing the stock to fall. I'm distracting all the dot connectors and fluff masters from doing there job. Seriously, ban me.
See you all next year when the stock price is $2.65 and I made a 5 cent proift on my "BARGAIN" purchase.
I would ask you where i did childish name calling however I don't care because I will be banned soon. However if you are referring to the foolish comment there is a fine line between name calling and the truth.
To answer you question
"I just have to ask; isn’t your faith derived from your own "narrow minded putting together your own imaginary dots"."
Yes it is... the dots that people were putting together 10 years ago that said TOVC would be above $50 right now which is exactly my point. The theories here are nothing more than that... theories.
So yeah I have all the faith in the world but excuse me if I'm sick of people taking every mention of a transmission plant or a CV joint in any news article and thinking torvec has a hand in it.
I'll say it agian, it is just a narrow minded for people to put the dots together as it is for me to say it's B.S.
I'll use the SEC filings and press releases for my information not the theories on this board. And if you are trying to say that the only information being passed around this board is from there, then I can't help but chuckle. I pray to god some of the theories are correct but I have heard about 1000 now and none of them have been.
Good luck to all. I hope torvec goes to $100 a share. I'm done with this topic now.
mhyland, this is all I will say. It is just as narrow minded to put together your imaginary dots as it is for me to say it is a bunch of crap. I think that potential new investors have the right to both sides of the story. New investors should not come on this board and read all the fluff and dot connecting thinking that this is all new and wonderful information. I have been in this for almost 10 years now and I'll tell you there has been a lot of fluff and there are so many dots out there people can't even see anymore. Pretty soon somebody is going to say that Krispy Cream is going to get in the FTV business beause they saw JG there getting a coffee. Again, being "narrow minded" is all relative and I would challenge that you are far worse than I am.
Having said all that I love this company and I am keeping the faith. I plan to own more of this stock in the near future so I'm not giving up. I just this new investors should get all the info... good and bad.
Sorry allnumbers but you just proved my point perfectly. Thank you.
Again who cares. There are a bunch a names on there that 200 people are going to see. It takes a 10 minute phone call to get a company to sponsor you for something like that. I'm not trying to be negative here and I think its great that they sponsor RIT. I just don't want peope to try to connect dots that arent there and I'm getting frustrated sitting here year after year with nothing happening.
I saw this on the "who gives a shit" channel this morning. While it is great for the people at RIT this means nothing to the company or the stockholders. This is like me donating a buck and getting my name put on one of those shamrocks at the store. If this were a formula 1 car that would be seen around the world then that would be a different story, however I can't believe this even warranted two paragraphs on the website. Sorry but I'm ready for some real news.
Ok. We are saying the exact same thing here. I have no doubt in my mind that this engine has less piston friction... no doubt at all. All I am saying is that it has nothing at all to do with a CV joint. The CV joint may allow them to use a different engine/piston design and the different design (i.e. materials, clearances, speed, heat OF THE PISTONS) could allow for less friction.
I think you are arguing with me because you think I'm trying to be negative when we are saying the exact same thing. The CV joint may allow for a different piston design but I guarentee you 100000000000000% that there is no direct correlation between a CV join and piston friction. There is no CV joint on this planet that you can swap off and existing car that will directly reduce piston friction PERIOD. I don't need to be an inventor to prove this, you need a highschool level physics or statics text book to prove this. I did however spend several years in college getting several degrees and then spent several years in the field all dealing with things exactly like this.
If we are saying this same thing then great. If you are trying to say that a CV joint can directly, by itself, reduce piston friction then I'm sorry but you are a fool. If you don't want an honest answer to your questions then don't ask them.
Also... and not to be negative... but don't believe everything you read. Just because something is written down in black and white in a CEO update doesn't mean that someone actually broke the laws of physics. Hey I'm putting new cup holders in my car today and it is going to reduce piston friction and also make the car fly. (Did you believe that too?)
Allnumbers. I think you just said the exact same thing as I did. The CV joint itself does nothing that changing the thermostat setting couldn't do. The only way to change friction would be what you said at the end of your conversation and what I said to begin with. If I were a betting man I would guess that they mis-spoke in that CEO update and meant to say that it has the same "effect" as reducing piston friction. I'm not motivated enough to call and ask but if you would like to please feel free.
Allnumbers..... where did you get that info on the CV joint reducing piston friction? I can see how a better CV joint would have the same "effect" as reducing piston friction but I'm not sure how it could possibly reduce the actual friction. Friction is a function of two materials contacting each other, constants associated with each, and the force applied perpendicular to the direction of motion. A CV joint does not in any way change any of the variables in calculating friction. If you have something that says otherwise I would love to read it.
"We were not provided any new information"
I don't mean to be "negative" and make the stock price go down, but if the quote above is true then why do we care. If no new infomation was provided then everyone here already knows what you are going to write. It sounds like they just polished the terd and put it back on the silver platter for everyone to look at. Just my opinion.
I don't know where that comment is coming from because the volume level looks the same today as it has for the past several months. Once we start breaking 250,000 on a regular basis, I think then we can start to speculate... not at 20,000.
I could not possibly agree more dread....
I am long and strong in this stock and have been for almost 10 years now but like dread I have heard the same story over and over and over again. While I don't believe in being negative all them time I am strongly against "fluffing up" this stock to gain the interest of more investors. There are two important facts new investors need to look at which support both sides of the argument going on here. #1 - TORVEC has incredible technology that with the right management team could solve a lot of the US's fuel crunch and pollution problems. Along with that stock holders could make a TON of money. #2 - History has shown that we go CEO update to CEO update and press release to press release and 10K to 10K with news and hype that goes nowhere. Don't get me wrong, we could be 24 hours away from this stock hitting $30, however when you look at history we could also be another 10 years before this happens.
So the negative and positive sides should both be looked at here. If one person wants to praise the technology and another person wants to complain about the lack of progress in the companys stock price then so be it. Welcome to AMERICA.
I'm new to this stock and all penny stock for that matter. I know this question is like opening pandoras box... but I was wondering what people think this stock might go to both short and long term.
Thanks
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I haven't posted in a long time but I couldn't help myself over here today. I'm falling asleep at the wheel waiting for something to happen. I've been hanging in there for almost 8 years now and I'm starting to really get bored with this to say the least. I could buy a nice boat with the money I've had sitting here doing nothing. Ok.. I'm done complaining now, but I know I'm not the only one here with these thoughts.
Although I'm still long and strong with TORVEC, I must say this CEO update did very little for me. Seems like more of the same old stuff we already knew about. I almost would have rather heard nothing which is odd for me because I check that website every day hoping for new info. Ohh well, guess we will see what August brings.
You got me sold newspeed. I generally ignore things like this but it seems like a great idea and something that could really change the lives of people with this disease. Probably much easier to use something like and inhaler (sp?) than a needle (and less painfull too).
Man I could be sitting on two cash cows now. Seeing as how tomorrow I will own as much of this as I do torvec.
Great post... couldn't agree with everything you said more.
To answer your question, I have had the board in my favorites for about a year now, and I used to follow a different board long before that. To be honest I don't even remember the name of the old one because it has been YEARS since I looked at it. I think torvecian used to be on it though.
Take care
I'm also a new poster to this board and buytovc's post finally got me to get off my butt and registered. I've been an investor in this company for many many years now and although I don't like what buytovc said I can't help but agree with it a little. I feel like all anyone has been talking about for the past 5 years is when torvec is going to stike the big deal. And for the past five years the same pattern has been happening. We go a long long time before news comes out, then a press release is made which gives people a small glimmer of hope with no real basis for it, the stock price goes up, months goes buy with no news, people posts messages in frustration that no news has come out, the stock starts to drop, I sell and make a lot of money, and then I buy back at a low price and repeat the cycle.
After having said that, I'm proud to say that this time I'm not selling! The press releases over the past several years really have never mentioned the possibilty of this "big deal" until recently. Before now it was nothing but a pipe dream and I find it hard to believe that even dread or torvecian can argue with that. At least now we have something to work with and at least some hope that something is in the works straight from the companys mouth, not from our hopes and dreams. Buytovc, I hear what you are saying, but IMO the stock might be worth hanging onto this time (i'm actually increasing my position). In the past I have been very frustrated with the lack of press releases and info from the company, but this time i'm patiently waiting for my chance at early retirement.
Good day folks.
