The Mesa #1 found 90' and 80' of porosity and permeability with indications of gas in two zones and the expectation of gas with oil potential in the Granite Wash Zone at 7000' - 7025'.
Good enough for me. I'm confident its only a matter of time before patient waiting pays off.
"Nickel and dime" problems? Been there. All I needed Monday was an extension cord for my arc-welder to fix the gate. After two failed trips to Lowes', I finally found an adapter right here in the shop. Such "little things" can cause such great delays. What could it be like out in the desert, if a stupid bolt, nut or part has to be flown in from a cross the country? Everyone waits.
Delays must not cloud the bigger picture.
WC2
That's where is is. Please refer to my post 18706 for the longetude and latitude. Google it. Dry barren country. What little rain they get dissapears into the ground.
WC2
Would it not be more of a desert sand? It was said quite a while ago that it is very porose. Rain drains right through it. No need to worry about gumbo here.
WC2
Dragon man, if I understand you right, that your father passed away two weeks ago, you certainly have our deepest condolences. I'm sure you will miss him very much.
Yes, Eldorado is probably operating on a slim margin. They don't have the deep pockets that the big companies have. Perhaps this has slowed us down that Tom has had to be frugal. However, that's wildcatting on a shoestring. The rewards will be worth the wait.
GLTOAL
Remember the Stabilo panic? Those who sold lost a lot of money off nothing. Are we going to operate on emotions or the facts. The facts that we know are 170 ft of porosity and permeability... maybe more. The facts we know are the comments of Tom, Clayton and esp Geo and the others over the past year.
It was a rollercoaster today. Stay with the facts. You don't jump out when the coaster starts a flying. You hunker down, hold on and wait for the ride to end.
I don't think the POS is anything to sweat at the moment. Anything that anybody knows is going to appear on this board. Its just pre partum jitters due to uncertainty. Great opportunity to capitalize on fluctuations till Tom and Tony give birth to what we've been waiting for the last year. Have some sisu!
GLTA
This bears repeating from earlier today:
"from the mar 20 PR:
The Mesa #1 found 90' and 80' of porosity and permeability with indications of gas in two zones and the expectation of gas with oil potential in the Granite Wash Zone at 7000' - 7025'."
These are the facts. Nothing has changed to undo this. 170 ft of porosity AND permeability! Now that I understand permeability better I am encouraged in confidense.
So we wait- knowing its there... and maybe more!
GO EDEX!
Try this one: 16888
"Porosity alone will not do it, unless you have interconnected porosity, i.e. permeability...
High permeability is almost always caused by extensive fractures. This was a part of the problem at Mesa. After finding a drilling break, porosity, we drilled through some very fractured rock (the drill bit was hopping severely, and we never got circulation back). We dry drilled for about ten feet, but almost got stuck, and had to quite drilling. This is where we TD'ed the hole. We now must test what we have got for the final answers"
If memory serves me right 1100 barrels of mud were "lost". That's a heck of a lot of mud. Where'd it go? That's the question.
Someone gave the long and lat yesterday or the day before. Don't know what post numnber it was.
Here it is:

WC2
Been there? Got any pictures?
WC2
After looking at today's price on WRNW, I'm glad that I didn't follow the crowd, but stayed with EDEX. I appears that the only winners with WRNW were the ones who got in at the beginning and got out quickly. Same old story. EDEX, on the other hand, will be a different story.
WC2
So quiet today. Is everyone holding their breath or what?
WC2
Sounds like the old Mustang metal detector I brought back in the early 70's.
Hope what's been found doesn't turn out to be a pop can tab! :o
WC2
God's blessings on your surgery on the 24th. I hope this makes for a new Geo.
WC2
Geo is an honorable man. His presence on this board has given me a profoundly greater confidence in PIP and EDEX. I trust him implicitly, because I think he's shown us his heart. Before this group says rash things, think about what you're implying. Here is a man of great conscience and passion. Unlike some, such a gentle soul would be too tormented to hold to a "lie".
A believer.
WC2
Maybe he went to talk to that doctor.
WC2
Maybe he said too much.

The sun rises on the oil patch.
Yes, please post some pictures! Seeing the project would give everyone a real charge! It would also take the wind out of the naysayers!
WC2
This is great news. We've been waiting a long time. Lets see what this does to the SP today. I've added...
One step farther...
WC2
In response to rwayne,
If I understand correctly, Tom said 4 to 6 weeks for the completion rig.
WC2
Wasn't it was posted that Mesa 1 had electricity running to it in order to prep the pad for drilling? If for some chance this is NOT from a generator, then they would have the electric lines already in place. No? Why would you not sell the power back over them?
Converting NG to eletricity is a no brainer. Same as those who argue that running a automobile on pure electric is more efficient than the labor intensive process to create, compress and convert hydrogen to power an electric motor.
WC2
To answer your question, a friend had a conversation with Tom the other day about numbers, and we took the figures and did the math.
WC2
I would think then, that Tom's pretty good? No? I'm no lawyer.
WC2
Lowman,
Is Mesa 1 on private land or Federal land or a little bit of both? My guess is that a federal lease would be better protected.
Just a few years ago a bunch of "charlitans" offered us 24K for our fifty year old well. They were doing us a favor, you know. Didn't take the bait. That old well is still producing 38K per year. In this business, there are many good guys and a heck of a lot of liars, thieves and opportunists.
I am convinced that Tom is sitting on a real gold mine. Waiting is hard.
WC2
I believe Tom has enough funds for five or six months. Mesa 1 should begin putting money in the bank by then.
The nice thing is before that, aka when Mesa 1 is proven, it will buy him borrowing power for whatever other needs might be presented. This leverage will be a huge safety net.
GO TOM!
But in long term thinking the situation is all the more clear. I've purchased between 4.5 and 13.5. I've still a way to go too. But the light is at the end of the tunnel. The news today is the most substantial we've had. We are there!
WC2
We've all won!
I understand that the completion rig will take 4-6 weeks. (depending on the final results and testing) Then there will be a 4-6 week set up to pump the oil. And 30 days to pay after delivered. This comes out to about 5 months. It will take a lot of patience. But its coming.
WC2
Not just gas... we're talking oil. This is big time. O Christmas tree! O Christmas Tree! Bring on that Christmas tree!
WC2
The news appears to be very good. Something is down there. And its really big! But it's there. Just got to be patient until we get the official results.
WC2
As one who has studied such matters in the doctoral department of a major American seminary, rxgator, I can only say, Amen!
wildcat2
(Out of respect for this forum, I would be willing to entertain questions on this matter privately)
Hey, is the contest over yet? A friend wants to know if he can get in.
Wildcat2
The evidence I've seen makes drilling at Mesa a no brainer. With the critical mass of data available, how could you not help but drill? There has been a lot more faith put in less certain holes, don't you think?
WC2
I agree. How can there be such gloom and doom when the bit is so close? Remember the evidence for Mesa, the gas to the south, the proven yet plugged well to the east, the geosurvey maps. There is gas down there. Keep your heads and be patient. Tom will come through.
WC2
62,000 ft? That's some hellacious progress!
So how far down should we be at this time with Mesa? I'm afraid I'll be out of the loop tomorrow. We're going to 7200?
