will do - seriously considering Interactive Brokers if anyone has any feedback.
Scottrade update: I talked with my Scottrade reps this am about the new rules re: restricted stock list. Every order to buy a stock on the restricted list AND EVERY MODIFICATION of that order MUST be accomplished by calling your Scottrade rep by phone. This is a new change; in the past once the phone order was placed, all modifications could be done via internet.
The restricted list is updated daily, but they will not make it public.
I've been a huge Scottrade customer for years, but now will open up a new account somewhere where my decision to buy/sell is not controlled by a corporate blankety blank. Sounds to me like Scottrade is moving in the same direction as our federal government...

Hey, homefree, where do you call home? I'm in BE - 4" so far & still snowing hard. BR
Doctor No, If you develop a familiar relationship with your Scotttrade office, get familiar with the info they require and have it at the ready, these restricted orders rarely take me more than 3 minutes start to finish. FWIW BR
No, CA$H, not rubbing it in at all - strictly coincidence. Not like me to rub in - my apologies. But I know the feeling.
Pulled 30% on PLD, then hesitated on re-entry @ 3.45 - now look at it. Never felt so bad about a 30% return! hehe BR
Anybody think F will hit $4 today?
Chart, what do you think of LDK at this level? thanks, BR
Chartinator, great UYG video, looks like you & ClayTrader are coordinating. I find the videos very helpful as explanations like yours verify that my own chart reading thoughts & ideas are on the right track.
This same approach with options would be great. I've always had an interest in options but never have done much with them. The expiration issue scares the bejeebers out of me.
I'm a risk taker, but the hard deadlines concern me. I look forward to learning a new approach, spreading my risk and increasing my returns exponentially.
With over 1000 boardmarks, you have an army of followers who are generally quiet but extremely grateful for your continued willingess to share and teach. BR
Thank you, Chartinator, for saying what many of us lurkers have been thinking about those two...The great majority of us greatly appreciate the time & effort of all our great professors.
Kamillion: I don't post much, primarily a lurker. But when someone with a horrible attitude such as yours pulls their head out of their a$$ I can't keep quiet. If you are expecting 100% success on all trades, I've got some great waterfront land in Florida I'll be glad to sell you at a great discount. Go back where you came from... BR
Chartinator: I am continually amazed by your knowledge and willingness to share, but even more by your generosity. In a stock world of greed, manipulation and illegal actions, your
belief in the good and your attitude of specific assistance to new & veteran traders stands out like a lighthouse on a stormy night.
This board is unique in the quality people following in your footsteps. I feel privileged and blessed to have found WU and to tag along making a few dollars but more importantly, obtaining quality knowledge as we move forward.
There are no words to express my gratitude for your continued sharing. All I can say is simply: THANK YOU. BillR
Dave, thanks for the help. The problem was a glitch in the zoom area. I adjusted from 100% to 90%, issue resolved. So I moved back to 100%, then 120% to test and problem still resolved. Bill
Gotmilk, thanks for the help. The problem was associated with the "view" zoom. I adjusted from 100% to 90%, problem solved. I then went back to 100% and issue still resolved. So I tried zoom up to 120% and still no problem. Just some glitch I assume. No problem now thanks again. BR
Hi, all. Question regarding the new website. The verbiage of all posts are running off the monitor and I have to continually use the bottom scroll to move back & forth. Anyone else having this issue or know a solution? Thanks, Bill
Chartinator, I looked into possibly buying SIVC this morning and its on a NO BUY list at Scottrade. BR
Un-be-liev-able...
I was all set to buy back into HISU today and luckily was delayed this morning. Now see the PR that B-fracking-A is back in the loop!
No more buys from me. The old saying applies: fool me once, etc, etc.
Un-be-liev-able...
rscomps, ha! just joking. I'm an old geezer and can remember buying gas at $.16/gal in my high school years! Will probably see $16/gal before I kick the bucket! BR
Joshm, thanks for the link. Downloaded successfully even on my archaic dialup - took 20 minutes. BR
rscomps, this may be the same area reported 2-3 months ago. At that announcement they quoted 40 bil barrels and it was light crude. Maybe we'll be back to $1/gal gas in 10 yrs! ha!
Prof Monkish, sure hope you don't have what I suffered - took me all of Dec & Jan to get out of my system. Antibiotics did no good whatsoever. My business partner had it 3 months... Get well and get back to work! LOL BR
Astro, you are assuming lending agencies will loan based on future revs and that is not realistic; past proven revs yes but unproven future no way. Go to your local bank, ask for a loan on a rental property based on your expected future rents and see how far you get - emphasized even more in todays credit market. GLTY BR
Astro: numerous good reasons to leaseback, among them cash is not tied up in financing assets (how many 100% commercial loans have you ever seen), great tax breaks, lease payments are almost always significantly less than loan payments, shareholders are more comfortable knowing "banks" aren't waiting in the wings with the big hatchet, leaseback asset holders are generally more lenient in bad times, and on and on.BR
To all: just heard about this new stock trading/investing social networking site (on CNBC). Sounds like might be interesting & fun to follow. www.updown.com GLTA
Monkish, great summary and well timed for me. Just got back in, saw the LLEG news, was thrilled after reading the PR, then shocked the price took a dive - not expected. You're right, let's get rid of the fair weather "friends" - good riddance.
Again, great post. BR
Chartinator, WOW! Just reviewed your March numbers. Congratulations! Very impressive work. You provide us rebuilders and newbies great hope that your leadership and training will return us to the land of the financially "flush".
Excellent job. BR
Rob, I too find the comments about various brokers interesting. I've been with Scottrade for 10 years and am very satisfied, with the extra 1/2% commission on stocks under $1 irritating but balanced with great customer service from my local broker.
I am amazed that some broker out there doesn't research peoples attitudes/complaints and devise a system that resolves all traders concerns - they would clean up! GL w/your new broker!
GamblerNC, FWIW, I just received paperwork from a class action attorney yesterday against FRPT. Luckily, I got out at breakeven @ $4.29. BR
Chart - what is your normal strategy/attitude when you hit a double like EESO today? Do you stay in based on TA/charts or do you take profits? thanks, BR
I agree not a big deal. I just wonder if these personal shares were somehow required collateral for the investment banker agreement?
Cargo, if I read correctly, 250K shares/mo @ .05 min is only $12,500 and they are obligated to $10,000 per mo for 6 mo minimum to the investment banker. Doesn't leave much extra for anything else unless PPS increases significantly higher than .05. Right?
Chart, when I see very tight spreads and I see PPS gradually increasing, I expect the PPS to continue rising. Am I wrong? thanks, BR
Chart, absolutely not! The tight spread just shocked me...BR
WOW! COPI .0489 x .049 Go baby!
Chart, yep, I'm prepared for that, trying to keep a bit more diversified, especially since my amount at risk is small. I've always been aware that if I win 65-75% of the time and keep my losses under control I can come out ahead. I just got greedy with a couple that turned out to me major losers - saw solid retirement in my headlights and got blinded- and then blindsided. Won't happen again...
You all have a great board here and once we get better known, you'll have your hands full keeping order. Your efforts are greatly appreciated... G'night
Blockman, thanks for the info. Sorry I can't PM back. That fraud just about broke me, but caused me to go back to ground zero and start my learning all over again. Thought I had done my DD and homework, but there's no protection from that kind of crap. Hopefully I can recoup here following & learning from the expertise of these fine professors. Good to see you and Brentjanice. G'night.
I was much relieved to see that doji at the MA20 today. Better days ahead.
Hey, blockman, do I remember you from the CKYS fiasco? hehehe what a disaster.
What board does MEC stand for? thanks, BR
Cargo - Great! thanks for the clarification - that helps. BR
