Sherlock, What deal did Sempra acquire?
Say the word Mrs. Nahle. Just who is building that Isthmus gas pipeline?

Lol is Ward really back in TX though?
The announced IEnova project from a couple of days ago, to build storage for 2 million gallons of refined oil in the Port of Veracruz, should stand as a hopeful indicator that Mexico is not entirely closed off to private investment in the energy sector.. just needs to me Mexican owned. Thanks to Salvador Moreno, we fit the bill. Take this as encouragement that we are next. Ironically, our storage on the east side is also for 2 million barrels of crude oil and in Veracruz, in the Port of Coatzacoalcos.
Cheers!

Thanks, Jonsmile. I loaded up in the upper 3’s. Cheers
Nice consolidation at the end of the day. I just started my position upon coming across this article. The 100% retention rate on customers is what got me.. speaks to the superior data BigToken has for them. And, repeat business means we will only go north on revenue.

His role, according to the PR’s, is to promote the Isthmus gas line project and to obtain and file all necessary permits and authorizations for all three projects.
Tell Horacio, he can tweet it at him
Did you read that?! Everything for the Burgos hub was ready! Take heart, this is the very same Strategic Storage facility that the CFE officials are now saying is back on the table.
Check this out:
The natural gas in Texas will not be exported to Mexico , was unveiled on Wednesday, so our political analyst Alejandra Cullen gave his opinion on the matter and the situation in which the country is facing the neighbor and low temperatures.
We definitely depend on American natural gas and this has to do with a long-term strategy, because it was much cheaper and because that could promote technologies that were much cleaner, but that did not mean that the natural gas production.
Let us remember, says Cullen , that everything was ready to start the operation of the Burgos system, in the north of the country, and the new administration stopped it and that the accumulated natural gas is taking Texas to the United States and is the one that later sells us .
The same in Veracruz where there was a well that they wanted to use strictly as storage of natural gas and they did not want to tender it either.
A similar situation with the whole part of the general storage infrastructure to be developed.
Today Mexico cannot store or have a minimum forecast in terms of natural gas despite being fundamental for the industrial sector as well as for the production of electricity.
The United States has a sneeze and Mexico, a pneumonia, so to speak, the above has to do with the inability to develop complete infrastructure and have an overview of the energy world
This idea of ??the government of wanting to do everything by itself, the only thing that it is taking is having restrictions that increasingly resemble those of countries that want to concentrate everything, such as Venezuela, says Alejandra Cullen for Unotv.com .

Thanks Penny for the voice of reason!!
Unbelievable what Ward has spearheaded in determination and perseverance. This AMLO administration has made it nearly impossible to compete as a foreign private player in the energy sector. The only exceptions are those mega projects Mexico wants but can’t afford. Our $13 Billion USD 3-part development is a massive pill to swallow for the administration. The fact that Brasil Field had been taken off the table, does make me wonder where we truly are at with our other projects. But this I know, the Strategic Storage by private initiative is back on the table. It was in the permitting phase as of 8/27/2020. Looking forward to Ward picking up the ball and running with it. Everyone, I sincerely believe, should feel at peace with their investment. This is a very good place for us to be in.
Go get em, Mike Ward. If any of you speak with him, encourage him (not that he needs it lol). Let’s bring this one home.
Good luck Tony! I hope you follow through!
It’s all about exports. And yes, the Concho will take (from what I recall) all of the Whistler gas.
To give Ward the benefit of the doubt, I bet when he learned that the Brasil Field was being taken off the table, he played hardball with them holding back the other projects until they would approve... as they now have.
100% Penny
Exactly. It only sucks livefree, because we were all convinced our three part development was a done deal. It should have been, but a socialistic administration prevented us from the free market.. at least from our storage facility & the fact was unknown to us shareholders.
Many acts of God are driving MX down into further desperation; the pandemic spoiled the administrations already less than ingenious plans for 6 refineries suited for their dirty crude oil. The gates then opened up for the oil aspect of our isthmus project, AMLO himself speaking of it on 12/23/2020. Then, this winter freeze, allowing for blackouts across the north of the country. AMLO’s statist agenda of foregoing the 45 bcf storage field built by private initiative for instead two 3bcf fields built by the government, has left his people in jeopardy. He knows it, and the CFE knows it. Including Manuel Bartlett. It would be helpful if Ward would keep us truthfully updated, but at least we can hear this out of Mexico: The strategic storage field is in play! There were four depleted fields being considered and tendered for in 2018, Ward had chosen the Brasil Field (April 2019 Argus media article). We know from the 8/27/2020 governmental document that the Strategic Storage facility that was chosen to be built by IP was labeled as a $1.2Billion USD investment.. and as the CFE has revealed in this article, it will hold 45 bcf in phase 1. This is us.
Our time is at hand. When exactly? That ole game... let’s see what a few weeks or so will bring. I hear Ward is going back down to Mexico today, weather permitting.
The Tidelands run is unrelated IMO. What Penny was saying in response to this yesterday makes the most sense.
This is great. The downside is that apparently our Brasil Field holding 45 bcf in the phase 1 $1.2B USD investment had been cancelled at some point after 8/27. The good news is, we are back in play.
Ward had said on Monday that this would happen, that this winter storm was great for our storage project.. I found that shocking because I never knew it was off the table to begin with..
Here we go. Time to get excited again. Concho, progresso, and Brasil FIeld. Here we come!
Big news!!!
Mexico's CFE reconsiders gas storage after outage
2/16/2021
Mexico's state power utility CFE plans to develop a fuels storage policy in order to mitigate future gas supply shortages such as those that triggered power outages across northern Mexico yesterday.
CFEnergia, CFE's fuels division, will develop "a strategic commercial and operative storage policy that will minimize negative impacts of abrupt price movements and drastic variations in the volumes ordered by Mexico to generate electricity," director Miguel Reyes said in a CFE board meeting yesterday.
Shortages in natural gas supply following record cold weather in Texas sparked power outages across northern Mexico yesterday affecting 4.7mn customers. Power supply has been re-established to around 80pc of customers, President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said today, but full service is not expected to resume until 18 February.
Mexico is heavily dependent on US pipeline imports for electricity generation as domestic gas production has declined over the past decade. Imports of 5.52 Bcf/d covered 68pc of consumption in November 2020, according to the latest government data. But the country has no storage facilities, leaving it vulnerable to operational disruptions, despite both the public and the private sector having flagged the issue for years.
CFE's storage policy would "provide better operational flexibility" and "provide a protection mechanism in the face of price volatility," CFE said.
Gas prices soared by more than 200 times to $600/mmBtu in some areas in the US yesterday, a situation that will see CFE incur additional costs of Ps20bn ($1bn), Reyes said.
Lopez Obrador's government abandoned plans to build 45 Bcf of commercial storage by 2026 with outside investment in favor of a more limited proposal that would include 3 Bcf of storage in salt caverns in Shalapa, Veracruz state and 3 Bcf at the Altamira LNG terminal, overseen by state pipeline operator Cenagas.
CFE did not detail specific storage proposals or timelines or clarify if its program will be in addition to the Cenagas proposals.
In the meantime, CFE plans on ordering more LNG into its Altamira and Manzanillo terminals — the utility has issued two tenders in recent days for delivery by 25 February — to balance supply. CFE also plans on contracting "a broad hedging strategy to guarantee fuels prices," but provided no further details.

"It is time to join the efforts of all: society, private initiative and government."
This is good!
That’s the mindset, Livefree!
Which companies, jetfan?
Thanks Livefree1776... Norweger is an asset, I agree.
There is little to discuss lately imo.. all has already been found. It really feels to me like we are in a time of silence as the final pieces are being put into place.... The silence is soon be broken.
To Mars!
Dang that’s impressive! Haha
This legendary picture comes to mind... when AMLO says they are about to finalize an historical agreement between PEMEX and a private company:

Largest by a long shot. Jetfan, go look at the size of the projects announced so far... a few million here, a few million there.
A special emphasis was indeed given to Sempra’s ECA project during the October 5th announcement and that is a $1.9B project.
OUR 3 PART DEVELOPMENT IS $12 BILLION USD
Have a great week everyone! MRGE 2021
Lol!
Thanks All. Looking forward to the coming days and hopefully some updates from MX in the interim. Have a great Sunday. Enjoy your families and friends.
Tony, you must have missed this part:
“All are free to judge and think for themselves!”
Actually, nobody said anything on here that the Mexican President would be announcing this week. If you are going to hang your hat on something, stick with what’s known through the news rather than hearsay.
Nice find, Macod! Great seeing the start date! Ward shows those isthmus lines will actually be less than 245km long. My cherished picture of him discussing it with the C||T.. you can see the length if you zoom in.
Start date on the isthmus coming up! We know what that means$$$$$$$$$$

Load up for the blow up!
Good morning, go Mirage!!!!
I think Ward would beg to differ.. along with common sense. Of course it’s important!
Yes, Macod- I agree. Very good for our projects! The “structural causes” spoken of are the underdeveloped and poverty stricken parts of the country especially in the south east. This is the sole purpose of the Isthmus program. And in there, we find the necessity and security of our developments.
Go Mirage!!!
Great to hear, Penny! Would be very nice to have confirmation this afternoon that he did indeed leave. As I have said before (post 23027), given the current time and circumstances, I am looking forward to this trip as one of great significance.
Cheers!
