HB is more likely to help pump it on the way up so there is more money to be made on the way down. They look for stocks with quick rise to unsubstantiated market caps, collaborate a huge short position with other hedges, release bs claims and reap the benefits. They look for unusual volume and big runners. Pretty smart tactic as most stocks after a big run up do settle back down. I think they get burned with PRED though. Ticking time bomb
Don’t forget about pred’s CLOSE relationship with the university of Utah medical center when it comes to IND and stem cells
I enjoy how much you all have underestimated the importance of the revenue from the testing and the possibility of stem cell approval. Some doubts are warranted due to past mishaps but the launch pad has been set, just waiting for takeoff.
Lol at the idiot who shorted a million today
Could be just as big or bigger than the testing. Already a premier provider of stem cells.
If old guy bought on a Wednesday it’s def going much higher.
Excellent post
NVTA and we will surpass them
The amount of revenue this could result in if executed properly is astronomical. Should be no need for an offering to raise capital, which some were concerned about when prices get back to the $5-$6 range. I dunno about you all but I smell an uplist. Nasdaq would be crazy not to want a company like this on their exchange.
P.S. I swabbed a patient tonight. It is indeed uncomfortable. She described it as just as uncomfortable as having a nasogastric tube placed. I drop a lot of ng tubes in people and it’s usually a miserable experience for them.
This is a worldwide problem. U.S. market is only a small fraction of the total market for this product. Everyone is ficused on selling here but in reality it doesn’t matter which country it’s sold to. A sell is a sell.
Received my SA advisory email today. They are still very bullish on PRED. Great response by the company and it’s partner in China to this Hindy mess. Sorrentino responding directly is a big deal. These guys aren’t messing around. Incredibly excited to see what the rest of this year brings.
HB released this piece out of panic. It’s poorly written. They can’t let this get to nasdaq. They know it’s comig soon and will do anything they can to stop it. With good news early this week there is no stopping it.
I don’t care which country buys them as long as somebody does.
You think they cover and go long before big news out next week?
Where’s oldguy? What’s your add at on Friday this week?
If they can’t sell as many as they can have produced then they aren’t doing it right. Should be an easy sell. Unfortunately there is a good chance this happens all over again this fall. Hopefully immunity stays for those already infected. Tests like this will be the key to seeing who is immune and can work and who should quarantine.
A contract with some meat to it sends this to $3 instantly. I’d imagine an uplisting would be in reach soon after.
Everyone read this from thermo. Then read it again and again. The last sentence could be the next clue.
NEEDHAM, Mass., March 23, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- For biopharma companies faced with increasing demand for new biologics, cell and gene therapies, and drug products, Thermo Fisher Scientific is investing more than $475 million in new capabilities and capacity in 2020. This investment, in addition to those made in 2019, brings the total investment over two years to approximately $800 million across the company's pharma services business.
"We've invested strategically to ensure that lack of capabilities, capacity or supply is never a reason medicines are delayed in reaching patients," said Mike Shafer, president, Thermo Fisher's pharma services business. "Our offering can provide solutions at all points along the pathway to commercialization, whether it's an emerging biotech working on vaccine for a novel virus or a high-volume pharmaceutical manufacturer delivering necessary drugs at scale."
I suspect there is more to this news than meets the eye. Once this has played out I’d bet our other diagnostics such as art guide will be manufactured in China as well. Huge cost savings with maximal capacity and logistically makes sense if that region is where thy want to do business. Gonna take some time for this to pass but once it does I think we will look at this PR and be shocked by the clues included.
iMac type run would be nice. I can dream right?
End of day profit taking? How did we end up even? I missed it
This is just my opinion but yes I believe that would have been a better way to attack this. I’m afraid the damage done to small businesses and the economy will end up killing more people than the actual virus itself. Whether it be people who lose their jobs and can no longer afford meds or supplies to manage their pre-existing conditions or anything else that comes along with economic hardship. There will of course be outliers that are young, healthy and will still succumb to the virus but overall the elderly are the biggest concern here. Remember these are very difficult decisions our leaders are making in a very short time frame. This virus was relatively unknown until recently. Things probably could have been handled a little differently but hindsight is 20/20. All we can do is make the best of the situation and learn from it going forward. I would be willing to bet that In the near future there will be a vaccine similar to the prevnar pneumococcal vaccine but for covid 19 for high risk populations.
Thanks for all you contribute here. Hopefully 2020 is the year PRED turns the corner and I won’t have to pick up overtime as often haha
No lol. I’ve taken care of several covid positive patients. Most are sent home. We keep them if their chest X-ray shows any opacities (poss pneumonia) or they are short of breath and requiring increased oxygen requirements. Hospitals I’m contracted at have only put 2 patients on vent from complications of comorbidies along with covid 19. Our docs are using hiv med and chloroquine. Unsure on the status of the 2 on vents as I have been floating to various facilities in the Nashville area this past week. Nashville is a mess from the tornadoes and now this.
I’m not sure how they can prove the product actually helped. All of those numbers are what you’d expect to see after a person in respiratory distress was intubated and put on a ventilator. You would need a much larger study with placebos to see if people actually recovered faster.
Agreed. If the FDA approved MSC’s for treatment we couldn’t extract them as fast as we could sell them.
Not sure I like that. Sounds like they are using the hysteria to push stem cells as a prophylactic option for patients afraid of dying from covid. Exactly the kind of thing the FDA gets pissed about when it comes to stem cells. If they wanna buy our products that’s great but wish they’d take our name out of that piece.
As a medical professional working at a hospital you would be surprised how few people they are actually testing. We have to have permission from the TN depth of health to test any patient. I have had many patients with symptoms that they will not even test nor put on any kind of isolation precautions. It’s pretty crazy being on the front lines of this. I’d be highly surprised if most people do not have this at some point whether they realize it or not.
Welcome back. How are you feeling about things with what all is going on?
Whenever you or anyone else goes please let me go and I’ll join. And yes a conference would be great
I’d really like a tour and to be able chat with their employees.
Would anyone be interested in arranging a meeting in salt lake if PRED would be willing to see and speak with us shareholders? Flights are cheap right now and I’d would be interested if anyone else would and had a good contact at the company
Did Zeppa ever give his follow up post?
Looks they heard me loud and clear. Crazy. The corona could actually be what sets this thing off. Throw in a few other revenue forms we have going and any breakthroughs or China deals and who knows where this goes.
If PRED is listening and if they truly have the best stem cell lab in the country now would be a great time to reach out and make deals to supply drug development companies. FDA isn’t ever gonna come any easier than this current environment for stem cell therapies. If they have something now is the time to push it, FDA will expedite treatment if it works. I really don’t expect any more news than they are legally required to publish in this investing environment but I hope they are busting tail behind the scenes. There’s a chance that while terrible, corona virus could be what launches this stock to stupid levels. That’s whats so fun about these kind of investments.
Yeah i don’t see how either but who knows maybe we get a pleasant surprise
The diagnostic has already been developed and tested appropriately enough for fda to give the okay to start deliveries ASAP. I’m not sure I see PRED being of much assistance in this endeavor as thermo should have their own more appropriate labs to produce the test kits. (I hope I’m wrong but I do want to be realistic) What I do hope for is an entity studying cures via stem cells has bought out our excess inventory and has placed orders for much more. Would be great for thermo to give us a shoutout though if we are involved.
Anyone familiar with development stage biotechs in an unnecessary overblown economic downturn? Do they trade with the overall market or stay relatively stable?
