It looks like our government is leaning more toward giving illegals citzenship. They'll bend a few rules here and there, change a few laws, and they will instantly add 30 to maybe 50 million more to our population. It would take decades for this kind of increase from American born babies. It supports their hispanic base for future votes.
To break this cycle we keep voting them out. Its to bad a Senator gets 6 years. Thats a long time. It should be 3. A congressman 2 with the president getting 4. This would make more sense imo.
The requirement for those 16 or younger, go to school, or enlist in the military. Either way its an expense. The one option assures them that they will get their pay from the Federal Government. I think we may soon withdraw from Afghanistan, so they won't be getting sent into a conflict, at least near term.
The things that need to change:
1st offense to companies that hire an illegal - 10 to 25 thousand dollar fine for each illegal.
2nd offense their business gets shut down.
No medical thru private hospitals unless its a life and death situation. They get charged for the cost, and should remain on the books or with some collection agency, if ever they obtain citizenship in the future?, any bills that were charged will they will have to report on their application, and take responsibility for, as most Americans with or without medical insurance.
The law they need to change is the one that allows illegals who have children here are born into US citizenship. When people were first coming to American thru Ellis Island it made sense, but illegally crossing US borders, and getting the pregnant wife into a hospital here to have her baby delivered and at government expense is another insanity. If they're illegal so should their child be. We see what it does, and the advantage, it gives the parents a foot in the door, or a wedge in for the argument of right to live here.
If the government would eliminate HUDD, and get back to reality thus protecting those most vunerable, and helping the Americans who have honorably served in the military it would not only save tens if not hundreds of billions annually. It would serve to end gang infested communities whose families depend, and rely on government assistance for their housing. Cabrini Green, now torn down is a prime example of what low cost housing produces, the government sponsors it. The properties that are constructed for this purpose turn to ghetto within a short period of time.
The FHA was created for honorable intentions, for those who served in the military, for widows, and those with disabilities. It balooned into Fannie, and Freddie. We've witnessed the result, even illegals were able to borrow, and buy homes. The person who applied, and the person who signed for the loan may have not even been the same individual, it gets no more insane than this.
How in the world does a person measure up in a position like that to receive such a ludicrous pension?. This is better than what a Congressman receives after 30. I wonder what a 4 star receives today at 30?.
Crazy!
I think the ultimate job is being a judge on tv, like Judge Judy
$45 million annually
0r
A judge on American Idle at $45 million a season, with all expenses paid.
Where does all that money eventually come from?.
To bad. If most people would have been employeed by those who caused this mess, just one bonus from Tarp would have resolved the issue. Plus most would still be employeed. The government will find billions more to send to foreign countries.

An excerpt from another one in 2006
By Robert Morley
For over a half century, American manufacturing has dominated the globe. It turned the tide in World War ii and hastened the defeat of Nazi Germany; it subsequently helped rebuild Europe and Japan; it enabled the United States to outlast the Soviet empire in the Cold War. At the same time, it met all the material needs of the American people.
During this period, many American icons were born. Companies like General Motors, Ford, Boeing, Maytag and Levi Strauss became household names. American manufacturing became synonymous with quality and ingenuity.
On the back of this industrial output rose America’s middle class. High-paying manufacturing jobs, in turn, helped spur a robust and growing economy that depended little on foreign nations for manufactured goods and armaments.
However, manufacturing as a share of the economy has been plummeting. In 1965, manufacturing accounted for 53 percent of the economy. By 1988 it only accounted for 39 percent, and in 2004, it accounted for just 9 percent. Considering the stupendous list of America’s manufacturing achievements and the vulnerabilities associated with foreign dependence when a nation lacks strong domestic manufacturing, it is alarming when economists are warning that the U.S. is facing the “gutting, hollowing out and closing down of American manufacturing forever” (Benson’s Economic & Market Trends, Feb. 27, 2004).

The auto industry trade publication cited a document it obtained that GM (NYSE: GM) has been circulating among lawmakers. It said GM would look to sell more than 17,000 vehicles made in China to American consumers in 2011, and boost that to more than 51,000 by 2014.

Soros?.......He's a busy body alright, but the real threat, the government of Germany. Guttenberg is now the man of the hour. Germany hasn't rolled over dead. Instead of taking countries by force this time around it will be done thru manipulation. In time Germany will be the head of the EU, and all the countries not dropped to be a part of the EU or not relevant will have the biggest of problems to sort thru. All of the countries today with the EU are looking to Germany for their resolve, and it will come at a cost. Germany is seeking to regain alot of that land they took during the war.
Last legendary republican President was Eisenhower. Not to mention he was the Supreme Commander of the military during WW2. But he and Patton didn't see eye to eye! :)
What a General!!!!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitch_McConnell
McConnell became a member of the 100th Division (Training), U.S. Army Reserve, in Louisville, Kentucky, during his final semester of law school; and he reported for his six months of active service, primarily for training, in July 1967. After induction at Fort Knox, Kentucky, McConnell was released early from his active-duty military service in August 1967.[4] In August 1967, U.S. Senator John Sherman Cooper (R-KY), for whom McConnell had interned, wrote to the commanding general at Fort Knox, asking when McConnell would be "cleared" from active duty to attend New York University. Consequently, McConnell completed no actual military service. According to a former campaign manager, McConnell received a medical discharge for optic neuritis, which is a symptom of multiple sclerosis.[5]
(My emphasis) Isn't something how these guys were all able to avoid the draft, or found a way out of serving during Viet Nam?.
McConnell voted for the initial War in Iraq, has supported the "troop surge", and opposed a timetable for withdrawal from the country. McConnell remains one of the strongest supporters of the Iraq War, which he considers a central part of the War on Terrorism. He holds the view that the violence in Iraq is perpetrated primarily by al-Qaeda and other international jihadists who would otherwise be engaged in terrorist actions within the United States.
On July 9, 2007, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky at Fort Campbell, speaking to a contingent of troops about to ship out for a 15-month deployment to Iraq, McConnell said, "The majority of the public has decided the Iraq effort is not worth it," he said. "That puts a lot of pressure on Congress to act because public opinion in a democracy is not irrelevant.
I don't want to bust any one persons bubble, but having lived through the Reagen years its beginning to look alike Christmas with Scrooge being the employer. First thing on his agenda was the removal of tomato's, or rather the little fruit and vegetables the toddlers , preschoolers, may consume with their hot school lunches whose parent, or parents couldn't afford, and finally permission was given to the schools to provide hot lunches for those whose parents were either unemployed, underemployed or fell below a certain income level, prior to this they were brown bagging it. Reagen stated in front page articles in newspapers out of Chicago that they would receive enough nutrition from ketchup, picklelilly, etc. What American would deny these little ones a hot meal with all the trimmings while in school?.
He claimed to have been a member, and president of the actors guild, and that he supported the unions, because he himself was a union man. The smallest to largest unions gave him their support, with jackets, caps, mugs, and other mementos so he would remember their support. He would later break the backs of the unions.
We went thru the S&L scandal, so many retired people lost a portion, or all of their life savings. It was these very banks who talked them into investing in these junk bonds by converting their savings to purchase them, they would in turn get better gains. Then it was the Iran Contra hearings. It was reported that Oliver North with others had illegally sold weaponry to the Iatola Komani for money to support the Contras. At this time he must have been getting hit with on the onset of alzheimer's. According to him, he didn't have a clue of any of it. If we are to believe this, Bush, like Cheney must have been running things?.
All this business about deregulation, Reagen was the father that began to lead American down this road of utter corruption which benefited the rich, wall street, corporations, and hedgies, and the little guys clock would get cleaned. Clinton came along and supported it, then signed it into legislation. But he to was a crook, as well as Hillary, and both just as soon tell a lie as the truth.
If anyone is really gonna be supportive of the Republican agenda, just remember what this party is really all about, and its not for the working class. In fact they work against the working class.
What we need is party who can lead this country in the right direction, a middle party not made up of lawyers, bank managers, and hedge fund managers, and whose cabinet members aren't the insiders of and from wall street. But this isn't likely to happen as long as the American people keep supporting all thats wrong with each of these parties, or the lesser of the 2 evils. In reality it should be the vote for the best of the 2 goods.
Just where does that 1 percent get all that wealth they have obtained?..........for sure its not from other millionaires, and billionaires, less its Madoff.

Check this out!. This isn't anything we already don't know but it does serve to confirm the governments involvement. American working families are seen as little more than subjects that serve a bureaucracy that is mired in corruption. For 50 years the insiders have been chopping away at the laws, the rules, and regulations, and all the things were created to some degree to protect the working class, and sinking this country into another Great Depression. What they have in fact accomplished is not only a broken government, but a political system that is subservient to the rich, and powerful, corporations, banks, lobbyist, special interest groups, and foreign governments such as China.

We keep hearing from people in government, and Wall Street who want and support a free market. "A free market that allows them to steal as much as the can, and to rape the kind of America men and women have fought, suffered and died for, a country where everyone gets a fair shake with a level playing field. What we got after 911 wasn't an awakening, but another excuse, another divisive reason for why men and women needed to go into a country and engage in another unprovoked war whose leader had done nothing against the US, and when a country known to be the most terrorist driven in the world was left unchecked, and then allowed to become nuclear.
WW2 illustrated the kind of government we didn't want, and there were many the nazi's conquered, and you would think that it would have been a lesson in history learned from our own governments past wrong doings for hundreds of years, but it didn't, and it wasn't long after that we were knee deep in Vietnam. We've been headed down the shitter ever since.
The one way to control the people is to keep them poor, in debt, and the only way to do this is to keep goods, big ticket items in particular, and the cost of living priced to the very limits of "our incomes". We all know that incomes have been stagnate for at least the last 2 decades if not more. Any savings that may come by way of a 401k or other investment vehicle gets a shaving every now and then to make people even more desperate.
Just think of this for a moment?. The Senate Banking Committee is one of the most powerful if not the most powerful Financial segments of the government. Without blinking an eye approved $750 billion of taxpayer dollars to Paulson. They knew he was leaving his post with Bush, but still this didn't deter them from giving out the money. He did in fact tell them that he couldn't disclose how the money was to be used or who would receive it, or what amounts?. But still they approved it. He also stated that he needed it, like yesterday, and tomorrow would not be soon enough, or the entire financial system would collapse. He also stated, "the taxpayer was already on the Hook!", and they bit into it with hook, line and sinker. "The reason is because all them have been contributors, and have played a role inside this, as well as other scams". The S&L scandal and the cost for that bailout is still being paid by the taxpayer.
The majority of our politicians are corrupted government shitheads, and the ones we think may be honest are hard to trust.
Conrad Kent, Ron Paul, Dorgan, are some of the few that appear to make sense, and stand on their own, but who knows?
I wasn't sure?, I remember when it was $1.65 or $1.75. Crazy huh!.
Just think of how times have changed?. The minimum wage increased, and the comp pkgs for a publicly traded company did along with it. The Ceo at Msft is selling stock valued at $9 billion. I bet he never worked as hard as you did in week in his entire life. Publicly traded means - Ownership rights to the Privately funded and always fully loaded ATM.
Just the thought of this sounds absolutely insane. Its nothing more than a corrupt racket, and our govt hires people and retains agencies to oversee it...........and at taxpayers expense. Just like Uncle Bernie.

Very Good! :)
Remembering Dick Armey, and his speech on minimum wage increase. He would fight with every fiber in his body.
I remember hearing this big mouth on Cspan.
A congressman who was just looking out for the American worker, young and old. Starting a new job, in=between jobs, or retired, and would like to keep working. Wages more suited for a 3rd world country.
http://articles.baltimoresun.com/1995-01-26/news/1995026202_1_minimum-wage-minimum-wage-hourly-wages
Never mind that the minimum was was like $2.35 in 1971. Never mind his many salary increases into the tens of thousands of dollars he supported, and voted on when he was in Congress. Never mind that the minimum wage was designed to keep real wages in place.
The point is this guy is an arrogant big mouth schmuck!
In 1995 the minimum wage was $4.05 an hour. In 25 years the increase was $1.80 more or a rate increase of .07 a year for 25 years. Never mind that a soda or a hamburger just at Mcdonalds increased 3 fold, and the cost for a gallon of gas 6 fold.
We all know the rest of the story. The majority of manufacturing jobs that once paid real wages took up residence in every foreign countries so they could hire people who were willing to work for even less than the minimum wage. In turn they want to sell their products to some of the very same people who are now unemployeed while benefitting from all the US tax breaks, and credits, designed specifically for them by congress.
Thanks for the post. Sedition was really dangerous in jolly old England, especially during King Henry's reign. It could be nothing more than small talk, for that matter if he just wanted your head, anyone and everyone could be charged with sedition.
In Nazi Germany it could be the way you looked or the look given to someone, or what was whispered.
Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty.
~ Thomas Jefferson
Who said, "Give me liberty or give me death?". It may come to this?.
The banks and corporations have internally taken over the government, all aspects of it. The politicians all the way up to the White House are in their service. Signs with LED lights should hang outside their office doors to include the Oval office, "Open for business". Like the Federal Reserve.
A banner I saw on TV from one newly elected congressman after the elections.
They can't get any more blatant about the way things really work in DC. As we can see there are people who foolishly believe that government is working for them, or will, and short of killing someone they are more than willing to support their causes.
If the American people don't wake up and see it for what it is, and force real change will in all likelihood be sleeping when its all taken away like a thief in the night.
Our government is infected with the kind rottenness that comes from its moral decay when it comes to the American people and the country.
The crumbling of our own infrastructure illustrates just how much they're focused on preserving it, or the American way of life..............
They don't care, its all about them, and the reasons why we are $14t in debt, and growing. At the end of the day they throw the blame in the face of the real working Americans.
This debt has nothing to do with anything more than their reckless spending to service everyone, and everything like unprovoked wars, their financial scandals, giving it away to underserving goverments, or their corporate buddies, and forever ongoing, all except this nation and its people they call upon to fight for their political power.
If they had been doing their jobs over the last 50 years and serving in truth and dignity, we would be a much stronger and healthier country today.
Its been long broken and pieces of it have either been sold, or given to regimes our men and women died fighting against, solely because they were called upon to do it.
Just look what we did for Germany after WW2.
They threw money away to Mexico, or to its corrupted officials, and what what we have going on there today, and what its gotten them?........Money that was never used for its intent.
Now we're giving Pakistan $2b, and with no accountability, just like Tarp. What could $2b take care of here at home?

Not only does the IRS tax codes need to be ripped out by its root, and most politicians taken by their ears, former and present, and forced to live in homes along the Mexican border, and inside the most crime ridden cities in this country for first hand experience to see what needs to be done to end gangs, and their violence.
Then bused to Silicon valley, and on to corporations like Msft, and Oracle, if they survived?, and then given a walk thru to see how their treasury issues stock to them, and how its sold into the open market so they can steal as much as possible from anyone directly or indirectly invested with them.
Maybe then they will get it!. These PT companies are not piggy banks for them, but rather ATM's filled with money from shareholders..............Not money they earn from generated revenues but rather stocks gifted them by those who are suppose to be the Stewards representing the shareholders.
They should be paid with checks and deductions taken from them like any other employee within these companies. But maybe first they should be taken to court by their ears to discover if everyone who owns a share should also have a voice about what goes on within them?.
Private businesses grow thru earnings, and owners, and employee's are paid according to what the business can afford, what makes them any different?, other than the fact that they were given capital to grow their business with they first went public, and many times after. The kind of thing private business owners struggle with, they have to work to make their businesses grow.
Its a racket. The reasons why policy makers to include the president who campaigned on financial reform gives us the consumer protection act, and something I thought we always had?., does nothing to address the real issues of the corruption which brought this country, and world economies down to its knees because they're all apart of it. The very reasons we will see it all again, and what we have witnessed is only the calm before the storm.
What people don't seem to get is that it was Wall Street with the US exchanges which drained billions from the public when they first inflated oil prices, and publicly traded corruptions with its insiders drain billions more from Americans year after year with the working class who believed and perhaps many still do that investing in these public entities will grow jobs, and the economy, and their nest-egg, investment banks like Lehman, GS which is nothing more than a hedge-fund and got a $23b dollar govt payout to cover its bets thru AIG, banks, and insurance companies, the big one AIG. Ford, GM, Chrysler all came to Washington looking for bailout who were no doubt crushed from lack of auto sales when gas prices were soaring at the pump, something they never saw coming or counted on occurring hit them hard. Consumers were using their credit cards, many for the first time for this kind of purchase and accumulating more debt mainly due them not being able to afford the fuel. But the game goes on!. Nothing has changed its business as usual. GM is building, and producing in China, Ford in Russia, and Chrysler was on the table in Italy.
Paulson was right about one thing when he said, "the taxpayer is already on the hook!". The beneficiaries were the politicians, and those involved in the most blantant corruption this country and the world has ever seen, Madoff was just the tip of the iceberg. Guess who the politicians are gonna be gunning for now?, guess who will be asked to make more sacrifices to clean up the slaughter, and to feed the wolves at the door?. The good ole working class American people who are believed to be the real patriots, and more than willing to fight their political wars so corruptions can get a foot in all around the globe.
The cost in last 10 years has compounded the National Debt, it must be at least $5 trillion,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,And for what??????.
Ahhh!. Lots were paid out to corporations like Haliburton, and those who given the unbidded for contracts. Partners in crime.
Now the politicians have to really begin to see how they can cut corners because the debt level is so staggering, like always the working class legal Americans will pay for it one way or the other and the politicians will keep on protecting those who are in this country illegal, even suing States who want protection from the onslaught of murder spilling across our borders. The real problem they say is still Afghanistan 10 years later and no Bin Laden, $150b has gone to Iraq for its infrastructure, $50b for Afghanistan that never had infrastructure, and $2b or Pakistan to their corrupted politicians to fight terrorism whose border we are told, cannot cross where they harbor terrorist by giving them sanctuary. Permission we need to ask for?.
The politicians one way or the other will make the real working class pay for all these bailouts, and corporate tax breaks. In the interim they will start by taking away anything the American people can really benefit from. Their diversion tactic will be to point the finger at everyone who punches a clock as the culprits behind why this govt is facing a national debt of $14 trillion. It will continue to balloon.
They would like nothing more than to be able to sweep whats happened here under the rug, and then move on to see whose to pay for it by showing charts, and graphs on the House, and Senate floors.
Keep watching and see how it all shifts to the backs of the real working class taxpayer, and the real bottom line is the facts behind who runs and controls the government and its politicians.
The real questions to ask is what has the government been involved in and with who?, and how many among us has ever really benefited from what they claim to have accomplished over the last 50 years?. We need to look no farther than our infrastructure, and our economy, then go backwards from there.

What do Americans want? They want politicians to stop lying to them. They want politicians to protect their country from the transnational profiteers who are creating a global new world order controlled by greedy men who want to send our jobs to the emerging nations where tomorrow's consumers have nothing and need everything—except a paycheck. What do Americans want? More than anything else, they want to keep their jobs—and paychecks—in America because it was the investment of their sweat equity that built the corporations that are now exporting their jobs to the third world.

Look at the damage Enron did, and the cost to California's residents with those rolling black outs. $30B I think was the figure. Ken Lays friends at the White House, Bush in particular and Cheney help with them and their accomplishments to enrich themselves.
Lets us not forget Bernie Madoff. Ron Cox, former chair of the SEC was nominated by Bush senior. Cox was a former Senator, and a Wall Street boy who was known to look the other way. Just how much he graft collected over his career mired in corruption is probably buried in some overseas account, or offshore hedgefund. You can bet he didn't look the other way for nothing.
Only when the housing market blew like Mt.Saint Helen did he come forth, not really, he was dragged there by Henry Paulson, and had no choice but to reveal what was taking place in the Over The Counter Market, the CDS's, and the naked shorting in trading activities surrounding them.
What Cox failed to mention at the Senate Banking Committee were the hundreds of trillions of dollars floating in the market known as derivatives, and the hundreds of billions in dollars in policies AIG had written known as CDS's.
Henry Paulson would use this testimony, and Bernakee's for his plea for 3/4 of a trillion to help out the Wall Street boys.
They would eventually approve of this money we know as TARP, and did this with the knowledge that Paulson, Bush, and Cox were packing up their bags to leave Washington having completed a job mired in shit, and with our troops left on the battlefield, a war created by this president, and his co-conspirators, and perhaps learn of it reading about it all in the Stars & Stripes from a war created by this president, and his co-conspirators.
One thing to keep in mind that most politicians are self serving. The American people, our country, and our military men and women have suffered for it. The last 50 years is our guide.
We'll see now what happens, lets see what Good they do over the next year or two?.
I listened to the debate prior to the election with Mike Goushay monitoring. Ron Johnson accused Feingold of being a career politician. Lets wait to see if supports term limits?.
I wouldn't trust a politician farther than I could throw one.
Barrett received alot of praise for his attempts to helping that woman on the street who was getting knocked around, and for his troubles got knocked around himself. He should have called 911, he would have had half the policeman dept there in a couple minutes. I've attempted to call his office, and speak with him over a year about one gnawing issue of mine, the result is always the same, he's in a meeting. He never comes out!, and never calls back.

Bank Bailout
Remember how Utah Senator Robert Bennett got cut down by the Tea Party movement at his party’s convention last spring, ostensibly for voting for the bank-bailout program known as TARP? That was a milestone moment in the Republican Party’s transformation into the anti-bailouts-for-banks party, even though the bailout was approved under a Republican president, George W. Bush.
Yes, Bennett voted for TARP in 2008. But so did Boehner. More than that, Boehner pleaded with his Republican colleagues on the House floor to join him, warning the U.S. was on the “brink of an economic disaster” and declaring it time to “look into our souls.”
Your awfully greedy! :)
About a week or so ago it was reported in the news that gangs from LA I think from LA was moving into Las Vegas to establish new turf.
Its really nothing new its happening on a national scale, Portland, Salt Lake, Atlanta, Miami, etc etc. I understand that the "govt" is now becoming concerned with what is happening across our borders may start spilling over into the US?. As if it hasn't been. Its only now becoming a concern?.
In England the most popular name being given to newborns is Mohammad. Over 7,000 children have been given this name.
I envy that weather, blow some it this way.
Sounds like Johnson whose running against Sen. Russ Feingold. He'll explain it all if he gets elected?
Yep! Nevada is one incredible State, with not so credible politicians.

This is truly unbelievable:

In short the problem is this, the government doesn't make the rules, and or the regulations for Wall Street, the banks, nor corporations, for that matter the extreme rich, they do. The 60 plus thousand tax codes are designed to prevent how little tax they truly pay, or none. Its them with all their lobbyist who incorporate what they want, and they have lots of money to spread among those they use to get whatever legislation passed that will benefit them. The market works for them and the unregistered Hedgies in the Caymans who control half the Nyse and the London exchange. Not so good if you had or have a 401K or some other retirement vehicle. Tarp worked well for all those who were bailed out, and gave them all a reason to party at high end resorts.
Just look what Biden did for the Credit Card companies prior to he running for the presidential office. Lieberman is another fine example. The Congress has no intergrity, they're more like whores who are willing to sell themselves to the highest bidder.
The reasons why we are indebted to China, why our manufacturing jobs can now be found throughout Asia and India, Russia, South America, and Mexico, etc. There's more than 7,000 American lives that have been lost due them not doing their jobs, and why all the fail-safe agencies who are hired, and paid to protect this nation failed. Iraq was an excuse for their corporate buddies to profit from, one being Halliburton, and those were all non-bidded contracts.
Its not the first time we have seen the economy tank, but this time around its worse than ever, this time around these corporations aren't dependent on the American people who built them other than selling us the products made in some other country.
Your right!. Its both parties, and most of our govt agenies they employee.
China, and Germany are the worlds top exporters. Just think of all the cell phones alone that our people crave, not one is made in the US.
