Thoth, I am new to investing in companies (I typically just read posts and try to figure things out), but the hemp industry has been on my mind for a long time. When I lived in Kentucky (mid 1990's) I had a conversation with a guy in a bar who had been arrested and released, for planting hemp seed. He planted them to make a point but that is another story for another time. Anyway he was telling mer about hemp and that on an acre of land, in one year, you can grow the same amount as fiber to make paper as you could in 12 years growing trees. This stuck with me,
The history of hemp and law is a twisted tale of power and control. In the later 20 up to the early 1930's the U.S. grew more hemp than corn. Hmmm. Since it was outlawed technology has come a long way and now that same plant is ranging in use from medicine to fine fabrics and everything in between. And there is very little waste. I am super excited about this country waking up to the hemp plant as well as marijuana. We have been duped for years about the 'dangers' and I am surprised it is taking so long to make progress with all we know today. This industry is going to explode with opportunity and hopefully I have invested in the right companies but I support it either way. Good luck to everyone no matter what you believe in.
