Sounds like you're at Fort Ord. lol. Loved it down there too.
Beautiful there as well. Didnt get down that way but every blue moon. Monterey was as close as I got to you, and that's not really close, lol.
Didn't know you were in Cali. Spent 4 years in the beautiful Bay Area, just north of San Francisco. A couple of years in Vallejo, and the rest in Benicia. But my job was in Sonoma.
Take ur time. Thanks.
Acamp, could u explain/breakdow the 62.5% of $50 million for me? My eyes are hurting and I'm about to crash for the night. I think I understand the .8 edit part. You can reiterate on the .8 part too. I'm really sleepy, thanks. lol
I'm in a bar and pub at the moment looking at 9 different flat screen tv's. I'm comparing the ESPNU game on my phone, and the one in the bar. No comparison, Viva's quality is waaaaaaaay better. Once again, this will sell itself. lol
That's perfect. It's showing a little bit of everything. TV series, MLB, college football, and the Viva name in big letters with the number. A web address is all that's missing.
I'm hoping for that big time JM!!!
Ktownkid13, I'm really hoping that they have something in place advertising the product with Viva live out front. Even if they are nothing more than still shots of mobile phones, tv's, the guide showing the tv in the top left corner. But more importantly, let people know that is another viable option to cable and satelitte providers. And VIVA LIVE will have to be in bold letters with the contact numbers and web address. I have absolutely nothing against his wife at all. But people could've easily confused that time square ad with a music video. They have an awesome product, there should be clarity on what is being offered. Just my optinion.
whitie, I second that. I also thought the resolution was just fine with the premium channels. But I also agree with acamp in that it probably should never have been offered. My reasons differ from acampors as to why, but they should've held off IMO.
You know they are PMing each other as they continue to plot their entries and exits
Yes it was. Way better than my Walgreens and CVS comparison yesterday by a mile!!!! Excellent post;)
I love the shovels and pixaxes skinnyman!!!!
Thanks ;)
If you have Twitter. Go to vivaoffical@vivaentgroup, tap on media, continue to scroll down, and you will see the set up/installation instructions to download Viva on ROKU. I think it's the easiest way to get to the instructions. No CS or support tickets involved. Hope it helps.
If I can add my two cents to your post whitie, Viva gave an example on Twitter Tuesday of the advantages of the add supported OTT business. It's easy to get 0caught up on sub numbers, as our strenght. I know I do it a lot, but I have to take the blinders off and look at all the different revenue streams Viva have submursed themselves into, and it's still in its infancy stage. One of the biggest as whitie just pointed out of course has to be middleware. Some of your more profitable companies out there are powerhouses on the inside, but you would never know it if you look at them from the outside. I use to look at the empty parking lots outside CVS Pharmacy and wonder how the hell are they competing with Walgreens, when Walgreens lots just across the street are full compared to CVS. Until I found out that a significant number fortune 500 companies use CVS as their exclusive go to pharmacy for their employees. Sure those employees can go elsewhere for their pharmaceutical needs, but they are going to pay an astronomical amount for it. They also bought target pharmacies in 2015 as well, and we know how much foot traffic there is in target. (I sure do, my wife and daughter make sure of that, lol) But CVS's net revenue numbers were 177.5 billion in 2016, not bad I'd say. But it's not always what we see on the outside like sub numbers for us, but what's on the inside. Even if sub numbers yo- yo up and down a little bit from year to year, those sub numbers are really not our foot traffic so to speak. It's middleware that Viva will be using as OTT add revenue. Which is exactly what JF mentioned Tuesday on Twitter when it came to ROKU doubling it's market cap. That's why I try to make sure I calm myself down as I continue to get ansie when I don't see the movies or DVR yet. That's really not the big picture, and I also feel they were going to go all out with the launch, until maybe someone stepped in and said to them, that middleware should take precedence over streaming in a sense, and here we are with movies that should be here next week, instead of a month ago. It's coming everybody, it's coming.
Building a city!!!!!, too funny!!
Spot on!!!
Same here hdll , I'll be canceling my direct tv next week as well. Been with them since 1999, back when you had to buy own receivers as direct tv weren't leasing equipment then, lol. But $158 a month had just gotten out of hand, but it was either satellite or cable, and they knew it. And it also got old calling them to get a lower monthly price for a few months, and then watch my bill go right back up again, unless I committed to another year of HBO or something, and on and on. It got tiring. But I got a new router last Friday, and made sure I kept VIVA going on my tv, to see if I would have any issues. After a visit from geek squad, (due to a issue not related to Viva) not a single buffer, and a beautiful picture for $35. Hard to beat it. The kids got back home from college this week and loved all the new channels they had never seen as well. Can't say it enough, this thing will sell itself!!
Wow, that says it all.
Please tell me you didn't sell all your shares just befoe the reversal?
Excellent points. And also I for one don't mind his so called Twitter rants. I love that he wears his heart on his sleeve. Someone else could care less if them is was a scam. And I really love that we see him all the time, )and even his wife for that matter too, hahaha.) If he was a ghost CEO I would have more concern, but he's right there front an center.
Also in my opinion Imott, I'll go back to basics with the service. My service is streaming beautifully. If he didn't care, I don't think there would be a product right now. Or, the service would be so bad that you could barely watch it, and they wouldn't give a flip when it came to improving the product. I've had other streaming services, and they were atrocious with freezing, and picture quality. Viva is A-1. The real deal baby!!
The video short Garpeters of the Marlins player in tears was so on point. Would be nice if they could use that for the Times Square billboard. Don't know about legalities with the MLB names on the jerseys, sponsors on the walls etc. Captivating video I felt, and it's already made, no need to spend extra capital. Who knows?
My thing is Garpeters is at the moment, OTTV has been trading just fine the past few days. He didn't have to say that. We'll be fine though.
Luv2gigl if those movies were loaded, I would've thought we would have seen an official announcement from Viva as that would be a huge milestone for everyone.
I love your pooch now rustaboy. What's his name, hahaha!!!
.0029!! So far, so good!!!
Bow-Wow, Bow-Wow!! Ruff Ruff!!!
I was going to send you a post saying I also wish I could read Spanish back to you in Spanish. But I would've looked like a total faker if I screwed the words up in Spanish. lol. Once again, good to have you on the board with us!
Trust me, I know the reason why you guys want a drop in share price, but let's just let her run. I hope we never, ever, ever ever ever see the .0018's or .0019's again. Hahahaha
So true!
Man oh man!!!!! I completely forgot about that channel. Totally Hilarious!!!!
Should be quite the party when it kicks off!!!!
Another IHUBer was asking if movies were included in the $35 a month price, and was letting him know it didn't. But, yeah, I agree with you, I don't mind paying $6.99 a month at all. As a matter of fact it's damn good. I can hardly wait. The sneak peek of movies, and tv series Viva posted on Twitter back in October was awesome.
I'm convenced SilverKidd, they know people will try them because of their name, that's all.
No it doesn't include movies PennyLearning. The last statement I read way back in July from JF, all the movies will cost $6.99 a month. And they still have yet to upload them. EOM for the movies according to someone here on IHUB. Apparently we will be utilizing Flexfling's platform for movie's. I've gone to Flexflings site to look at the movies, and they are great. The only thing I'm wondering about, is with Flexfling, they have different tiers also. For instance, one package for $6.99 a month will get you just about everything except movies that were huge at the box office. But Flexfling offer a premium package for $7.99 a month that will get you the latest like Spider-Man Homecoming, Transformers, Fate of the Furious 8 type movies. So I don't know if Viva will have a differnt price for thier movies as well. I don't go to the movies anymore, so it perfect for those like myself. And man I hate Red Box so much right now. But I've given up on asking VIVA about movies, and the rerurn of HBO, CINEMAX, and SHOWTIME, as I think they decided to revamp their entire roll out, and they seem to get upset if you ask them about it too, so I've said, when it happens, it happens. But I'm also convinced they are damn close.
Couldn't agree more JCCP, really is frustrating. Watching Austin Powers/Goldmember now on Spike. (Sigh)
We have so much on our plate than just subscription numbers. There will be a host of alternative revenue streams coming into the coffers. We will be more than fine. We will get there, we will get there! Happy Thanksgiving.
PennyLearning, I think the last part of your post sums up Viva basically. The Latino audience will always be the default when it all boils down. You Tube are not catering specifically to them. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure the majority of You Tubes channels will be Spanish voice overs. And I think they have what, 40 channels. And course I'm sure you know, Viva has right at 50 Spanish speaking channels alone. And the last point that I love about all OTT providers now is, we are no longer locked into long contrats for 2 years, or pay a penalty to get out. Just pick up and move on to the next better deal. And once Latinos find out it's Latino owned, I feel they will have that sence of loyalty, and want more than anything to see this become wildly successful. And oh yeah, $35 for over 300 channels. Once the movies are loaded, as I say a lot, "Its a wrap!"
