I believe mistakes have been made. But like you the upside IMO is so large that I can't imagine taking my money off the table. I just wish I could have timed things a little better and ended up with twice as many shares as I have. hindsite is 20/20.
shipped orders only. There are some $2 million/wk being ordered. shipping is the key.

I...
tend to enjoy a little off the wall type of fun
So this is where you all are hiding.
Nice of someone to tell me. LOL. I know what you're thinking, "darn I thought we got rid of him"
Well I may be slow but I will always catchup.LOL
can someone post this on RB as it might be helpful.
SEVU website changed...
It now says "Race fans are you ready" instead of "Are you ready to rumble"
quick response!!!!!!!!
Exellant post...
you need to post it at RB as well.
Doug,
I noticed price difference. But I think at the time this site was being designed that was the right price. I'm sure they will fix it.
As to the new products section, I'm having no problems. just tried it. maybe under construction when you tried.
JMHO
It could be...
but I think AMEX would more likely be waiting for 3rd qtr filings which demonstrate among other things the equity increase due to springs purchase.
JMHO
Seaviewgoingdown is back at RB with a slightly different name. He stated he called Kbyte and that the former VP of SEVU now works there. Also he stated he talked to him and that he said that Kbyte is producing the board for Secureview. Curious about who is actually putting the entire unit together.
I just called Kbyte...
Dan Mehosky does work there. Whether it is the same guy as SEVU I don't know. I left a
message for him to return my call. My bet is he won't.

claire, you have a PM.eom
Regarding weekly letter...
I'm wondering if Mcbrides trip to DC didn't get in the way of the ability to write it?
I guess it could be.
Also wondering how trip went?
Didn't even think of that.
The possibilities are endless......
JMHO
Lets not forget...
the computer networking abilities they mentioned a few weeks ago. Just plug your computer into the wall and your networked. NO CABLING REQUIRED.
That is huge in its self.
JMHO
I agree completely.
great post!!!!eom
FG..you have mail. eom
Tony,
I remember something about the Florida Acquarium was going to set up a SEAVIEW camera in their tank and link to website. Not sure if ever done or not. I will try and check on it.
From my standpoint, SEVU will be huge no matter when production gets going full steam.
But, projections were placed out in the public eyes and that is what will be expected of SEVU. Even half of the sales would be tremendous but the public will see it as only a partial success because their expectations have been raised so high.
My earlier post was just a calculation I had made to prove to myself that it still could be possible to produce 100k units. I thought others might be interested.
I have been long on SEVU for more than a year, things are just starting to ge interesting!
JMHO
thanks, with 2K units produced each day and with 14 weeks left of the year at 5 work days in a week that would be
2000 x 14 x 5= 140,000 units possible to produce, subtract ...say 30,000 (15 days worth-picked out of air) units for holidays and vacations and other problems that might occur and you still have more than enough units produced to satisfy the projections.
As long as orders are coming in (as they seem to be) the projections might still be possible.
JMHO
gotinearly
I thought they looked interesting. However, I think 10 units per day per dealer is a little high. I would love to have that happen, but it seems a little much.
Unless you are considering all phone orders from web and TV ads in that number it could possibly be o.k.
My biggest concern right now is that all the orders can be shipped.
How many units a day can K-byte produce and ship? Can they out perform the intake of orders? They will have to if they want to get anywhere near their projections of the 100k units.
what do you think or maybe FG might now these answers.

mina, I thought you knew that these are only planned sales. If you click the "transactions" tab on that same page you will see that there have been NO INSIDER SALES.

type in SEVU
Clair, I appreciate your support.eom
yes, but i draw on my experience for general accounting type questions. I in no way have any particular knowledge of how SEVU records their books. I just know how it is supposed to be recorded.
That is why I always use "JMHO" as I am not paid for this info and therefore will not accept any liability for the use of it. I simply try and add some educated insight.
how about you?
thanks. eom
I hate to say it but Sevudownunder has a point (on RB) that I have been curious about for quite a while now. How is SEVU going to pay for the initial production required to deliver on purchase orders. I remember something about margining his personal investment account. Anyone have any new info.
Thanks in advance.
welcome back!!!eom
IMO, SEVU generates sales by direct payment, 30 day inavoice to dealers, and short-term installment (ie. 4 easy payments of $99.95)
this would cause A/R to be spread throughout the spectrum of "time of collection"
It seems to me that it would be a detriment to the company to not utilize different methods of payment.
One thing to remember is that it is always harder in the beginning and middle of the growth curve as money goes out fast and comes in slow. But, eventually things will stabilize and cash flow will be a title wave hitting the beach.
what do you think?
This is real life.
JMHO
Sorry Doug, poor choice of words on my part. whar I meant by problem was the fact that if you 936 units times $399 does not equal $280k.
I am absolutely impressed with that amount of purchase orders in one day and expect that the numbers will continue to astonish us.
I did not mean to appear unimpressed.
JMHO
DD, I hope I am not stepping on claire's toes but here goes.
Sales are only reported when orders are shipped, your answer to 3rd qtr revenues is that if shipped it will be included if not it will just be part of the backlog of orders.
Revenues and expenses reported for same period. This is a great question. Luckily, the accrual basis of accounting (used for public reporting) has addressed this issue. Revenues are recorded when earned (not rec'd) and expenses when incurred (not paid). As for manufacturing type companies it is a little more difficult, but the cost associated with produceing a product is recorded as an inventory item until those items are shipped. then both revenue and cost is recorded as income and expense.
I hope this answers your questions, I could write novels on this subject but it would kill you with boredom.
JMHO
Doug, sorry but that won't explain that problem. The $280k sales was actually purchase orders. sales won't occur until shipment. However, if the items were shipped it still wouldn't explain the calculated shortfall based on $399 per unit.
My only conclusion is that there are some multiple unit purchase orders which SEVU may have given a discount to as an inducement. The "SAMS" concept.
First... I know the definition of Accounts Receivable.
Second, your conclusion on the accounts recievable is unjustified. There are many reasons why A/R can be 70% of sales. Not just a lack of the companies ability to collect.
Extremely high rate of growth (like 400+%), for example. In growth of this magnitude, if 70% of 2nd qtr sales is A/R it could possibly mean that the bulk of then sales occured in last 45 days of qtr.
The only true way to determine if your statements are accurate is to review the "aged accounts receivable listing"'
Get me that and I will help determine the problem.
explain "Accounts receivable in the hole by $1,240,000"
I believe that means that JC Penny has agreed to sell secureview through catalogue. This was most likely a combined deal with the actual sale of cameras to JCP.
Therefore, SEVU probably is not taking the regular "price cut" they would with home depot.
If you note that in many of SEVU's PRs Rich has mentioned that sales outside of home depot would generate the most profit.
JMHO
a buddy of mine just said he was going to 5000 shares today, based on the PR.
he had invested earlier at .80 and sold at 17 & 11.
watch out we may just crack 6 figures + again on volume.
This is HUGE!!!!! Network your office with just a plug. Incredidible. We have a network at our office, only 15 computers and it cost $12000 just to wire it.
Think of the big companies, that would be hundreds of computers (thousands) all linked with a decoder and a power plug.
Simply f***ing amazing.
Sorry about the language, But I couldn't think of a word that better describes this info.
Looks like a MM walkdown! One last time before ......KABOOM, into space.
This is my recollection as well
tchock, i am pleased with your straight responses. I do concur with your answers. the first ? regarding partial shippment w/deposit is a good one. Depending on the terms of the purchase order (assume it is ship when ready in any lot amount).
The deposit would be recorded as a liability until first 300 is shipped, then transfered to revenues based on an amount equal to the appropriate revenue on 300 units sold with the remainder staying as a liability until more units were shipped. assuming the remaing 700 units were shipped in 2001 the balance of the entire purchase order would then be recognized as revenue.
JMHO
I am not giving advice, just stating my opinion. If this were a factual situation (not hypothetical) you should consult your own compensated accounting advisor.
what happened to post #146-did tchock blow it already?
