Here's why... https://brave.com/brave-integrates-ipfs/
Molly Mackinlay, Project Lead at IPFS said, “Bringing the benefits of the dWeb to Brave users, IPFS’ efforts to remove systemic data censorship by corporations and nation-states are now strengthened through the integration with Brave. Today, Web users across the world are unable to access restricted content, including, for example, parts of Wikipedia in Thailand, over 100,000 blocked websites in Turkey, and critical access to COVID-19 information in China. Now anyone with an internet connection can access this critical information through IPFS on the Brave browser.”
Sorta feels like we are in the next Cannabis sector doesn't it?
Hope so but why do you think so?
Fascinating research! There is school of thought that when you have a "gut" feeling about something, it really DOES occur in the gut, at least in part. Same with the heart.
I wish some pharma company in this space would look at combining LSD and something less toxic than MDMA. Something like Modafinil for instance or Kava Kava or I don't know... Apothic Inferno red wine. I'm tellin ya that stuff will put you in a really good mood.
Exactly. Naturally occurring compounds cannot be patented. However, "use" patents are common such as with L-Theanine, a natural amino acid found in green tea. Anyone can extract it and sell it but when it was under patent by the Taiyo Corporation, nobody could claim it helped with sleep, anxiety or mental focus. I found this out the hard way when I spent thousands on manufacturing one of my dietary supplements only to have Taiyo threaten to sue me. I don't agree with this statute, but there it is.
So if a natural substance like ibogaine can be slightly altered so it can be directly patented, so much the better from a business perspective.
I took out the $3.20 ask. Doing my part.
Selling pressure makes perfect sense. We are in a risk-off situation. Cash is king with martial law and civil war looming. Traders hoping to buy when there's blood in the streets.
GoDaddy DID NOT buy them out. It was a different company with same name.
This is the window of opportunity. Uplisting will blow MMED out of the water.
Thats an interesting article and I'm all for the legalization of psilocybin-containing mushrooms BUT I cannot see psilocybin use being as popularized as this article makes it out to be. I mean sure if one microdoses or takes a small but active dose the experience can be "fun", but inevitably one will want to experience what some like Terrance McKenna called a "heroic dose". Then... things get dicey... enlightening... terrifying beyond belief. The mushrooms may speak to you and you may not like what they say. You may find yourself lost and adrift in the data torrents of the collective hypermind, unimaginably overwhelmed with information, emotion and sensation the human brain is not equipped to process. Or you may find yourself out there among the stars, watching alien civilizations make war and rise and fall. You may experience one or many past lives... being burned at the stake for heresy, or living life as a slave in ancient Rome, or you may encounter the Others and realize that no, we are not alone.
You see psilocybin is an alternate neurotransmitter. Similar to endogenous tryptamines, but evolved in the wholly different kingdom of the fungi.
To wit... psilocybin is NOT a recreational drug. It is a sacred substance to be both feared and respected. Anyone with any overt or latent mental instability should NOT even think of doing psychedelics.
But let's say you ARE stable mentally and otherwise healthy and experience some version of what I've described. You wake up the next day, late for your job as a Wendy's employee, or a hedge fund manager or accountant or whatever... then what? Just plod along like nothing's happened? Go to church on Sunday and listen to another sermon on sin and redemption? Or go apply at SpaceX in the hopes of one day going to Mars? Or go finish your medical degree like you wanted to do before you got married and burdened with responsibility?
My point is,psychedelics are transformative and by any definition sacred and to be handled with respect. So good luck if you go down the rabbit hole.
A short squeeze day of uplisting is in the cards. GTC sell in at $60. If they want 'em they can come get 'em!
That does make sense regarding the headache research. LSD is a vasocostrictor so it would likely help with headaches. Unfortunately, people with circulation problems should avoid vasoconstrictors so that may be a constraint on use for some
Good choices! I hate to admit it, but a few Enya songs can be tolerated as well.
Pink Floyd's The Great Gig in the Sky (Vocal Solo) is a MUST for listening while illuminated. Just sayin'...
Seriously?? Johns Hopkins University is researching playlists for tripping? What alternate universe have I stepped into now?
They could have just consulted me...
Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon, Granchester Meadows, Led Zepplins Stairway to Heaven, Carlos Santana, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane/starship, Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells, anything by Shawn Phillips... it's a long list. lol
Grateful perhaps?
Exactly. I'm an old man now, but during my misspent youth I had my experiences, if you know what I mean, and I think you do. And, I am a better man for it.
Personally I believe it's our birthright as human beings to access these incredibly powerful substances without fear of legal consequences. At least with the business model of Mind Med, an infrastructure is being built and medicines are being created that will permit the supervised medicinal use of psychedelics to treat and in fact cure a host of psychological maladies.
It is not a stretch to say one of my reasons for investing in Mind Med is morally based. How dare a politician or unelected bureaucrat create laws and penalties depriving my of my right to experience any state of consciousness I choose? So, in a way, this is my personal big FU to the decades long fiasco we call the "war on drugs".
Thats what I need!
Over the weekend I looked hard at some similar companies like Compass Pathways and frankly none of them passed the smell test. Even Compass has some unsavory things about their history that turned me off. The others are dilution pigs from what I could tell. When Kevin O'Leary said he had looked around at the sector and chose Mind Med, now I know why.
Added a few more.
Good point. With the legalization of cannabis the resistance to it has been the obvious fact it's mainly for recreation. With psychedelics the "recreational" use is minimal at best. Not only are pschedelics non addictive, they are actually ANTI addictive. The carefully monitored medical use of psychedelic compounds will face much less resistance as a result I believe. This is a true sea change in psychiatric medicine, and quite possibly the investment of the century.
Interesting article on companies involved in psilocybin research and commercialization. It's about time hallucinogenic plants and fungi were decriminalized and openly adopted by our culture for their healing properties. For those of you who have experienced the illuminating and transformative effects of these sacred substances, you likely share the same sentiments. For those who have not, I ask you to keep an open mind on the matter. Words cannot convey the subjective nature of the experience, except to say, and this is where words fail... they change your mind about things. I've seen psilocybin mushrooms cure depression. I've seen peyote cure alcoholism... in fact one of the tenents of the Native American Peyote Church is abstinance from alcohol. They regard it as a sacred medicine, which it is by any definition.
The caveat here is that these are not recreational drugs, despite many having experienced them in a recreational setting. These are gifts from nature, like pennicillin and thousands of other naturally occuring healing compounds.
It may be that the handful of companies we see like Mind Med, who are actively bringing these substances into the legitimate medical field, are the pharmaceutical industry equivalent of the first dot com startups in the late 1990's. What dollar value might we place on a company offering a cure for depression, alcoholism, opioid dependancy, nicotine cravings etc?
I first read about ibogaine 30 years ago when I was getting my botany degree. My focus was on entheogenic and medicinal plants and the alkaloid ibogaine was particularly fascinating. The use of a crude extract of the root of the plant Tabernanthe iboga by the Fang people dates back centuries at least. Iboga is used particularly during rites of passage from boyhood to manhood. It is, by all accounts a transformative yet grueling experience lasting 36 hours or more. Those who undertake the iboga experience nearly always report communicating with their dead anscestors and learning from them what they need to do on their journey forward into adulthood.
Westerners who have undergone the iboga ordeal frequently report a COMPLETE cessation of addictive behaviour, oddly enough. The downside of course is enduring an exhausting 36 hour long hallucinogenic experience, which was a bit of a deal killer for modern medicine.
Now, somehow, the folks at Mind Med have isolated the anti-addiction properties of ibogaine from the hallucinogenic effects. Truly incredible as most of us were thinking the 36 hour long ordeal of being chastised by your dead grandparents for your addictions was why it worked so well.
Seriously though... this is truly a miracle drug for millions of people unable to break their addictions to opioids, heroin, nicotine , alcohol... you name it. God bless this company.
Fauci isbought and paid for by the Gates Foundation. The majority of Americans are more aligned with Eich's views than the agenda being pushed on us by globalists like Gates. The fact that the Brave Browser is privacy-based is equally infuriating to those who wish to track our every move and thought. On the other hand... Eich and team need to be more aggressive is promoting Brave and the BAT token system. Organic adoption is not enough. I bought heavily into BAT based on the fact BAT is one of the few cryptos with an actual product and service being used by millions daily. We need to see ads for Brave everywhere and then some.
Took a nice position at 60 cents a few months back. Hoping to pick up more just under $3.00.
Target $50 with uplisting to NASDAQ and positive trials with their Ibogaine derivitive. If it really is an "antibiotic for addiction", and I believe it is, then $50 may be underselling MMEDF
I applaud Brenden Eich, CEO of Brave for expressing his views on Dr Fauci and his duplicitous nature. Eich says Fauci "lies a lot"... well he certainly has flip flopped on his Covid recommendations on multiple occasions. So Fauci has certainly demonstrated his inability to nail down the truth.
The disturbing fact about Fauci is that if he had not funneled millions of US taxpayer dollars to the Wuhan lab to continue their corona virus research, this fiasco may have never happened.
So if Eich wants to call out Fauci for the damage he's done then I'm all for it and likely millions of others feel the same.
The article was biased toward SHRM over MMED but thats probably because they are a client of company publishing the article. I like the share structure of SHRM over MMED but MMED seems more likely to enjoy greater acceptance as they're working on an addiction cure via Ibogaine derivitives. Plus... Kevin O'Leary is behind it and he typically doesn't lose money on deals. I applaud both companies for their work in decriminalizing these remarkable natural substances.

Bat could easily be valued at $10 or higher once the BAT and Brave Browser economy takes off. The browser will soon pay... yes PAY users to watch ads.
Brendan Eich was the highest paid CEO in the US in 2013, I believe.
I'm in big on this one. Steadily moving up the market cap ranks. Solid team and they're aggressively pushing CHP in Asia. This will be a multi dollar coin in time.
Because its a utility token that has significant room to appreciate in value as the browser and token payment system increases in adoption. The value of the browser is that it blocks most ads and trackers BEFORE they intrude into your system so the Brave browser is significantly faster than a "free" ad blocker.
The added advantage is that it strikes a blow at the corruption we know as Google Advertising. The Brave team is fighting a good fight.
The Dow Jones news is HUGE. We all know who owns Dow Jones.
Had a nice conversation with one of the VP's from Digitaltown a few days ago. Quite impressed. This one is a game changer.
What is the Basic Attention Token?
BAT is an ERC20 token designed as a payment utility token for the Brave Browser.
What is the Brave Browser?
Brave is a browser designed by Brendan Eich and his team for the purpose of increasing privacy and fixing a broken digital advertising system
Brave is, in a word, AWESOME!
Why is it awesome?
Because Brave blocks ALL advertisements as part of it's fundamental protocol. And it does so before the advertisement infiltrates the browser. So instead of the slower speed one experiences with a typical ad blocker, Brave actually speeds up downloads. Cookies and trackers are also blocked.
The ultimate Value Proposition though is the payment system for advertisers using Brave. Advertisers may use BAT tokens to compensate viewers for their time spent watching their ads while viewing is enabled on your Brave system. The ad view is verified and transparent via the blockchain so the advertiser doesn't get ripped of, as happens all too often with Google.
The ad viewer is fairly compensated as well so you might say it's a win-win situation.
So who is this Brendan Eich fellow?
Heard of Javascript? He invented it.
Heard of the Mozilla Browser? He invented it.
Is he just in it for the money? I think not. In 2013 he was the highest paid CEO in the country. A multi billionaire. One of the wealthiest men in the world.
BAT is his baby. There is no other crypto token or currency out there with this level of expertise and solid financial backing.
