I do not think the selling is whimsical.
It looks to be managed. The board talks about the company's financials and management, both of which are good. We would like to see expansion. What about externalities? One wonders how the current climate impacts CAPC.
Thanks. It is just a guess (sigh), but the higher volume indicates there is interest, and the selling is deliberate. At the last conf call, there were a couple of analysts, and they may be pushing to the downside. That would be typical. Of course, the company also may be buying back shares. Regardless, there is profit to be made as the pps recoups. And it will. Still, we have q1 that may be slower and a prediction of higher results for the year. I will wait for earnings to add, but having said that the share price behavior is offputting.
Are we forming a technical bottom here?
Yup. No slouches these folks. Retiring the bought back shares is very very good practice. Solid.
Well, hmm. We might hear that the buyback is a done deed.
What is the likely size of the stock buyback in monetary or authorized number?
I can't recall the events precisely without researching it. I expect positive earnings. The thing I do recall is being taken to weep level pps until somebody bought sufficient shares, and then volume and pps ran up. I also recall that q1 2017? expectations were for more of the same, but management terminated a product without warning, and CAPC had to regain growth again. And did. Hopefully management learned from that.
Nonetheless, cyclicality/seasonality is a given until the product offerings deepen and marketing takes the company to greater stability and profitability.
I do think .74 is reasonable near term.
Agree, but think a dividend of 2 cents would not just stabilize the price , but we'd see the upper end warrant the pps in a range up to .75
Ok. I forget. Is there a stock buyback in the works? Who is buying? I am wwiting, but want to add. Not a rah rah person, btw, just thinking I have seen this trading pattern several times in the past.
We are at weep levels. What is support?
Add when the chart looks better.
Umm. That's one way to look at the current pps. Another is to recognize a new company that is building its product and consumer bases. Another might be awareness of and to wait for an easing of the externalities that are outside corporate control or influence. Another is to ask whether this presents an opportunity to add shares.
They will CONTINUE to be profitable in 2018. Probably should not think short term. it is tempting, but there were at least 2 analysts on the conference call. So, I figure there is institutional interest and awareness.
I just read the conf call transcript. It was time well spent. Management has a clear view of 2018 priorities, and they do expect continued profitability. They will increase product exposure thru online marketing. That is ok, too, but I hope they use Pinterest, maybe Ebay,in addition to Amazon at least for the US. I don't know the significant European and Asian internet markets. More later.
Barron's reported CAPC was mentioned in the press today.
I tend to agree with your assessment. I was unable to find a link tp the cc, but will later. A couple of points. BOTH Hoover and Duracell have significant name recognition in international markets, to the point where "to Hoover" is often used instead of generic "to vacuum". CAPC can capitalize on that with skilled marketing.
I can't be there for cc. Will listen later. Imho, r/s are kiss of death. Not warranted at this time.
Growth of sales and products and careful fiscal controls are the best route to a higher listing. CAPC needs more frequent communications right now to stimulate a higher pps. Management knows this.
After the close.
Will they report before or after the close? The filing didn't specify.
Actually, I am just waiting for earnings and want CAPC's q4 to be excellent. That will mean the annual #s will be outstanding! Next week.
Umm, no. I consider Costco and the like to be customers. I have in mind middlemen who find the customers. Of course, I am presuming CAPC has regional reps, as the Chinese company appears to be. Is this an issue for the conference call?
This may beg the issue, but might some inquiries be directed to distributors?
Isn't that what the Chinese firm is attempting in the Far East?
There was a German person in the room month or so back who said he planned to have 50K minimum before earnings.
Waiting.
Thanks.
CAGR. meaning? I agree, long term growth mode. 2 weeks. Can live with that. Huge support in .40s. Far out pacing sell side.
Might consider adding after earnings.
8 k is out. Earnings 3/28 and conf call 3/29.
Prob wishful interpretation of what he actually said. Heard what I wanted to hear?
Didn't Stewart say q4 would have record revenues?
I am resigned. Maybe tomorrow with date and time, and some uplifting something.
Thanks. I figure they are pushing the deadline so they can make some announcement or other. Good financials might be enough to push the pps north, and a new product launch(ed) would be a serious positive. Additionally, I will be interested to see the current/2018 product mix.
Uranium, Am I correct that if they release notice today of forthcoming quarterly results, they still have 10 business days to actually do so?
If that is the product, and I have not seen anything about it, they might figure out how to integrate it with devices already selling well in the market. If they do, we might see a boost to sales, as many consumers would add to than replace their home security technologies. Time for dreaming...
Lol. Detecting notes of frustration. I did some calculations based on 2017 filings -- tomorrow and Friday are most likely dates for earnings date, assuming 10 days notice.
Perhaps we should make our list of questions for the conference call.
Is anyone intending to participate?
1. What specifically and precisely is management doing to improve quality and frequency of communications with investors?
2. Facebook and other sites that require memberships are NOT appropriate venues for communicating with investors.
Page not found without logging in.Who is managing their public business exposure? Unprofessional.
Feb. 20 is history.
A higher listing appeals.
Yahoo now guessing earnings last week of March. Anything official?
They have been test marketing or something. No announcements yet as to what it might be or if they made a final decision to take it on.
