the canadien homers jut dont get it
they banned hemp extracts up there long time ago
so they dont understand the potential
well the usa aint gonna ban it and its going to be
first to national brand market
instead of the opposite in canada
where medical mariuana was first to national brand market
until they get published its white knuckles for me
im a naturally worrisome person though
they talked about on q3 earnings call i think
q3 2018 is when things pick up on cvsi-007 which is the nicotine/cbd drug.
they had a pre ind meeting with fda last june
apparently a lotta big wigs showed up for the meeting
the fight over which cbd oil will pass indiana continues
Your daily CBD update: House Ag Cmte just voted 12-0 to approve HB1137. The bill would legalize industrial hemp & hemp products (including CBD oil) with up to .3% THC. Allows IN farmers to grow hemp & businesses to process it. 3rd CBD oil bill passed in committee this week. #wthr pic.twitter.com/a0jYx7RBk5

"The key here is to acknowledge that the nicotine in tobacco products, though by no means a safe compound, does not directly cause the cancer, lung disease, and heart disease linked to tobacco use. In fact, a continuum of risk exists for nicotine delivery, with cigarettes being the deadliest form. Our plan includes using regulatory tools to spur innovation when it comes to new and novel technologies that deliver nicotine without burning tobacco leaves. It also involves working with FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research to enhance the role that medicinal nicotine products can play in helping more smokers quit."
last sentence in above paragraph particularly relevant to cvsi. In fact I would say based on the notes from the July shareholder meeting they could be directly referencing cvsi-007

need someone to navigate the pharmaceutical landscape
could have something to do with option chains
which dont exist now
but could easily exist in the future for this stock if they uplist
someone knows something im thinking
i really hope an investment bank is in the background here
bad cooking or good cookin?
good analysis
regarding:
"3) The MJ market is primed to explode this summer and there's a potential with midterm elections to turn the table and get legislation to deschedule marijuana and its derivatives."
hemp cbd is a completely different legal framework than marijuana or marijuana derivatives.
hemp and hemp cbd through with some creative legal interpretations is already descheduled.
2014 Farm Bill:
The section from the Farm Bill used to justify is 7606(b)(1) -> Section 7606 authorizes "agricultural pilot programs" which "study the growth, cultivation, or marketing of industrial hemp."
From The Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2016:
“None of the funds made available by this act or any other act may be used… to prohibit the transportation, processing, sale or use of industrial hemp that is grown or cultivated in accordance with section 7606 of the Agricultural Act of 2014, within or outside the State in which the industrial hemp is grown or cultivated.”
From the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017:
TITLE V—GENERAL PROVISIONS. SEC. 538. None of the funds made available by this Act may be used in contravention of section 7606 (“Legitimacy of Industrial Hemp Research”) of the Agricultural Act of 2014 (Public Law 113–79) by the Department of Justice or the Drug Enforcement Administration.
TITLE VII. GENERAL PROVISIONS. SEC. 773. None of the funds made available by this Act or any other Act may be used— (1) in contravention of section 7606 of the Agricultural Act of 2014 (7 U.S.C. 5940); or (2) to prohibit the transportation, processing, sale, or use of industrial hemp that is grown or cultivated in accordance with section 7606 of the Agricultural Act of 2014, within or outside the State in which the industrial hemp is grown or cultivated.
From the CSA:
“Marijuana” means all parts of the plants of the genus Cannabis, whether growing or not; the seeds thereof; the resin extracted from any part of the plant; and every compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture or preparation of the plant, its seeds or resin, including tetrahydrocannabinols. It does not include the mature stalks of the plant, fiber produced from the stalks, oil or cake made from the seeds of the plant, any other compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, or preparation of the mature stalks (except the resin extracted therefrom), fiber, oil or cake or the sterilized seed of the plant which is incapable of germination.
(NOTICE “IT DOES NOT INCLUDE…”)(I furthermore contend with the persuasion of the 9th circuit that the intention of the exception to the exemption (resin from exempted parts) is that a resin could not be pulled from non-psychoactive hemp that would increase THC levels above their natural percentage in non-psychoactive hemp).
2004 9th Circuit HIA vs DEA
“non-psychoactive hemp is not banned under Schedule I [of the Controlled Substances Act.]…” and “But they cannot regulate naturally-occurring THC not contained within or derived from marijuana-i.e., non-psychoactive hemp products-because non-psychoactive hemp is not included in Schedule I. The DEA has no authority to regulate drugs that are not scheduled, and it has not followed procedures required to schedule a substance.”
Then you have HR3530 which would cement hemp and hemp extracts are fully and without a doubt de-scheduled and that is predicted by many to have a very good chance of passage before the midterms.
their website investors section
why would they withdraw the option to reverse split?
weird.
why not just let it expire?
Breaking: House Courts & Criminal Code Committee unanimously passes HB 1214, which would legalize #CBD oil (with up to .3% THC) in Indiana. CBD bills have now passed committee in both chambers & head to full House & Senate with tremendous support from lawmakers. #wthr #INLegis pic.twitter.com/hMbpJ8VW01

crazy situation im trying to keep up here!
cvsi is a weird mix of playing both sides here.
either way we win?
Indiana bill passes House Courts & Criminal committee unanimously.
Heads to full house and senate with "tremendous support".
HERE WE GO
they are probably not trying to attract attention from our 2 favorite agencies the FTC and the FDA.
there are bills floating around in certain states that will put a dagger into the heart of big pharma. a war is brewing.
there sure keeping the new product line under wraps
only alluding to in the nuances of somewhat unrelated press releases
indiana sb52 clears key senate committee (Corrections & Criminal Law Committee)
on to the senate
very good bill
HERE WE GO FOLKS
they were #9 in september
"Who says you have to smoke cannabis to get the feeling? There are many different forms of cannabis use. For example, cannabinoid, or CBD, oils can be taken orally. Former NFL quarterback Jake Plummer does this frequently before working out.
Other forms of cannabis are also rich in CBD. This type of cannabis doesn’t have psychoactive and mood-altering properties and gives a different high than tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
These characteristics make CBD a perfect form of recovery for football players. I have personally taken it as well and I can notice the difference between the two. CBD oil makes you more focused and relaxed, as opposed to the laughing and hungry high of THC."

"In the four weeks ending Dec. 3, 2017, CV Sciences’ PlusCBD Oil ranked third in brands in the food supplements category of products sold in the natural supermarket channel, based on data collected by SPINS, a provider of consumer insights, analytics reporting and consulting services."
https://www.naturalproductsinsider.com/blogs/insider-law/2018/01/independent-health-food-stores-embrace-cbd.aspx
"While many smaller and mid-sized chains have begun to carry CV Sciences’ CBD products, Syed acknowledged, “it’s been a process of creating comfort around this ingredient."
Notice the language they are starting to use is "ingredient". This is because of the self affirmed GRAS they are going for.
lazy acres is a good example of the type of retail outlet cvsi is getting into. lazy acres natural market in southern California is a perfect example. its a grocery store that services people that are more health conscious. They have a massive display of cbd hemp products and pluscbd is one of the brands. go check it out if you live in southern California. this is about old ladies and health conscious millennials and people with nagging pains and people that just want to feel a bit better. its not about getting high. old ladies are buying this stuff up like crazy. i heard about the product 2 years ago from guess who? an old lady.
the cbd oil from hemp is sold under the guise of the natural products industry not recreational marijuana industry. there best selling state last year was indiana.
overall its a good signal but CVSI is attempting to sell hemp extracts and develop fda approved medical formulations from hemp and cbd. Recreational marijuana is not the industry cvsi is in *at this time*.
“CBD soon will likely be something not as available,” Andry said. “Because of that drug, the FDA soon will be going after companies that have products with just CBD alone. They probably will not be available in the next one or two years.”
“However, hemp oil has existed long before Epidiolex and GW. The way our FDA patents work, it will still be available,” Andry added.

The percentage of cbd allowed in hemp oil will be the issue of debate here.
Adding cbd isolate to another product is going to be kabashed i think unless you go through the FDA for approval. The hemp oil will be allowed but the fight will be over the percentage of cbd allowed in the product.
keep a close on this developing situation.
I kind of figured the isolate would be shut down; honestly the isolates arent that great for you anyway.
the gold formula for pluscbd is 25% cbd fyi. they have backed off purified liquid marketing and only sell it direct to retailers i think.
shutdown may be over; hearing good things from the senate floor
so goes indiana so goes the country in my opinion on cbd hemp oil:
http://indianapublicmedia.org/news/momentum-grows-cbd-oil-legalization-138211/
they used to get 10-20 per consumer lecture
now they the crowds are 10x the size at least the last few they did wow
there hittin florida hard i see
it was filed as a provisional patent is all i know:
"Under United States patent law, a provisional application is a legal document filed in the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), that establishes an early filing date, but does not mature into an issued patent unless the applicant files a regular non-provisional patent application within one year."
the key is "establishes an early filing date"
The DEA is some respects provides cover.
The FDA is saying:
"Under those provisions, if a substance (such as THC or CBD) is an active ingredient in a drug product that has been approved under 21 U.S.C. § 355 (section 505 of the FD&C Act), or has been authorized for investigation as a new drug for which substantial clinical investigations have been instituted and for which the existence of such investigations has been made public, then products containing that substance are outside the definition of a dietary supplement."
No one really knows the date for "substantial clinical investigations...made public" that the FDA is going off of.
But if the DEA was saying something was illegal (despite the 2004 injunction they had) how could it have been expected to to have been marketed as a dietary supplement before the "substantial clinical investigations...made public".
When I brought this up the FTC they said this:
"...Please know that the FTC’s authority is over business practices and does not extend to the actions of other federal agencies..."
Can't imagine the FTC says that very often to people.
the industry is on a collision course for federal court over the right to be able to market products with cbd as a dietary supplements
preparations are well under way most likely on both sides but for sure on the industry side
no word; im more worried about fda and ftc saber rattling at cbd industry
might be time to cancel christmas
checked out a store
fresh thyme
they had pluscbd in a locked case out front of the vitamin aisle
in the back they had cw hemp and hemp fusion but both those
just say hemp extracts not cbd
pluscbd is ready to keep their exact label just go plushemp
as needed based on regulatory landscape
as evidenced when they had their product on gnc owned lucky
vitamin for a short time
natural grocer chain also had picked up
the product for a short time
in october until they ultimately dropped
it 7 days later; i think they bought a lot
though before they dropped it; local
managers i talked to said its sitting in the back
corporate responded by saying “Thanks for taking the time to contact us. The sale of all CBD products has been suspended until greater regulatory clarity exists regarding these products.”
been hardly any iliad2 dilution this month which
is confusing
i think the main problems are sector related so not sure.
when stocks like vate sell at the same market it makes no sense.
vate has its products in 1 store and just bringing their online store up.
meanwhile cvsi is one of the top natural pruducts brand
with 1500 stores 1000 doctors offices and a potential
blockbuster drug. they are hoping to be published
on the first official toxicological study on cbd oil
in a major academia journal this quarter. i hear academia
is pushing back though. they are also trying
to get published on a study for the efficacy of cbd oil
for social anxiety. sounds like major pushback there.
they are scheduling with the help of other folks
a major conference to help educate academia on
phytocannabinoids. also fda is making a top policy goal to address nicotine addition and
the potential of fast track designation is strong.
the ownership reports for year end will be interesting.
just found out via morningstar someone bought nearly 900k shares last year around this time.
the market makers are so good as sensing nervousness
below is a potential path FDA could take to regulate the hemp/cbd market:
"FDA continues to take steps to improve its oversight of food safety. To address critical issues related to the overall safety of the food we eat, FDA intends to propose a rule on lab accreditation, which would establish a program to accredit labs to do food safety testing and to require that these accredited labs be used in certain situations."
https://blogs.fda.gov/fdavoice/index.php/2017/12/looking-ahead-some-of-fdas-major-policy-goals-for-2018/
Everyone seems so focused on the Canadian model for this sector. So many seem clueless to the political and regulatory landscape around cannabis in the USA. Hemp/CBD is going to absolutely huge IMO. The sabre rattling from the FDA though is concerning. Luckily this stock has a multiple front natural hedge built in to protect against heavy enforcement from the FDA on the food or supplement front. If more regulatory clearance comes from Congress regarding Hemp/CBD though watch out because there will be no looking back.
