I would not be a guinea pig for the vaccine thats for damn sure.
Anyway, takes about a year to get them to market.
A vaccine is only as good as the immunity you develop to it. What we have learned so far from our human immune response to corona virus is that we don't develop a solid long lasting immunity, the virus mutates, and vaccines haven't been very effective (e.g. common cold). The difference between this and the common cold is that when COVID-19 comes back in the winter, we will go through this all over again...
we need something to help decrease the severity of the acute lung injury
cough cough
NP120
Good to have both sides of the coin represented
While the rest of the stock market gets absolutely crushed today, I find solace in the fact that we are working to try to solve the issues going on globally
Our body develops shorter lasting immunity to this virus compared to some others like influenza, that could be a problem because it means vaccines won't help us develop the same kind of immunity. It also means the virus can come back in the winter (if it goes away in the summer) and we could have another wave of this in the winter... that could actually repeat over and over... it's a bit scary TBH.
More need for a drug that decreases acute lung injury and ARDS.
Risk Factors Associated With Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and Death in Patients With Coronavirus Disease 2019 Pneumonia in Wuhan, China
Retrospective cohort (preliminary) data from Wuhan on the Coronavirus and development of Acute respiratory Distress Syndrome
The Chinese are releasing preliminary data/results with their experience. They have demonstrated that ARDS, as I have mentioned before, which is Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, is a huge problem that results from contracting coronavirus infection.
Nice post. This is important folks. The IND program typically involves decisions made within 30 days. In this case where we are in a global pandemic, I would be surprised if that timeline is shortened.
Oh and one more point to add to my last post:
For those who visit this board for the first time and have yet to do their due diligence and are wondering what it is all about... watch the BioPub series on youtube (AMG has linked this before and it's on Algernon's website) as it nicely explains the drug pipeline and how far ahead of the curve we are. If you are wondering whether to put you hard earned money into this, remember one key fact...the premier CRO in Australia has personally invested >200k into Algernon and believe in their drug.

The penny traders will hang around. It's still (for now) a penny stock. Not that it's a bad thing, but I suspect there will be marked variation in day to day share price - significant volatility.
Said it once before, but doesn't matter to me what the share price is this week or next, because these guys have everything lined up to take this to the several dollars range. I agree with AMG, they are undervalued. That's just a matter of not having the right exposure (something they are working as evidenced by the news releases). They get the attention of the FDA and the B&M Gates Foundation and you won't see prices in this range for long.
Good strategy and a valued asset (drugs!) eventually get what they deserve. They have been updating us nearly daily, demonstrating they care about investors and are working very hard behind the scenes to take this to the next level. In the past two weeks alone, look at the news releases, they aren't playing around.
We have solid science.
Solid data.
We will see solid gains.
Don't get caught with your pants down when this takes off. All it takes is one news release and you miss it and you will wish you hadn't.
Scenario:
A penny stock shoots up over 100 percent.
Penny flippers attention caught.
Penny flippers don't see more news within 24 hours, trip out ensues. Stock drops.
More good news comes out.
Stock doesn't go up 50% as they were hoping, so trip out ensues again. Stock drops.
More good news, repeat above.
Penny flippers will always do this.
Who cares. The company is taking all of the right steps and are exercising excellent communication with investors. This is great. I don't care what happens to share price today, or tomorrow, the company is moving in the right direction with massive potential. All it takes is FDA or Bill Gates gives them the go-ahead and penny flippers caught with pants down. News releases daily, these guys aren't playing around.
But of course, corona virus is just icing on the cake. The portfolio these guys have is better than that of stocks trading in the dollars range (Bellus)...
just a matter of time...
Aside from the fact it is a crisis/pandemic and the FDA and CDC will fast track therapies during times like this, I think it's also important to consider that the government has actually allocated hundreds of millions to research... nothing makes things move faster than a crisis where the government puts the money forth...
"We will update the market shortly on the direction we receive from the U.S. FDA and based on circumstances, we are hoping for an expedited response.”
Bet all the shorts who sold yesterday are wishing they hadn't...
These guys are going full steam to help dampen the blow from this global pandemic.
Look at Korea, China, Europe. North America is next, it's just a matter of time.
Wow, they did that incredibly fast.
Bravo to Algernon for stepping up to the plate during this global crisis.
The fact they are scaling up manufacturing to utilize their compound for emergency use is admirable.
I think today was somewhat expected. There are a lot of shorts here who took their cash and ran. When they announce their trial in the next few days, those same people will all scramble to grab shares and the longs will benefit.
I've heard:
1 - they are in talks with a CRO to start a trial of their drug for treatment of acute lung injury related to coronavirus.
2- It's got demonstrated efficacy treating this type of pathology.
3 - They have a lot of cash on hand
4- they have a manufacturer lined up to start producing more drug.
Watch Big Pharma swoop in and start making offers.
Saddle up folks, and prepare for blast off!
Count me in AMG.
I've been waiting for these days for a long time. We are about to get what we've earned.
Check my recent post 6436 for some information. Today, all I have to say is the following:
Some science: Quarantine measures are not overkill. This is a new virus and humans do not have immunity to it. By shutting down travel, it isolates severe cases and gives the population more time to develop immunity. This also means that when people get the disease, they will likely have severe end organ effects like acute respiratory distress syndrome (severe acute lung injury) and systemic inflammatory response syndrome. This means we need a drug ASAP that can help reduce mortality and decrease the inflammation from this type of illness. Algernon has a drug that can do this and has caught global attention, rightfully so... the world is watching and algernon are stepping up to the plate
Some business: Algernon did a really good job in getting warrants exercised. They have a boat load of cash to move quickly into their corona virus trial. The best part... the governments have dedicated massive quantities of funding for research. When Algernon steps out on the front line and takes the lead on this, they could have a lot of money at their disposal.
And this is just Corona... let alone the fact they are moving into Phase 2 for other disease...
Everyone should take a moment to process the significance of "drt1111"'s post. These guys are being acknowledged on the global stage alongside mega pharma. This is incredible.
In addition to receiving national attention, they have:
1) a medication that has known human safety
2) demonstrated "signal" or treatment effect (positive data) for the most serious form of influenza which results in a systemic inflammatory response with resultant acute respiratory distress syndrome that is of the same kind that the coronavirus (COVID) causes.
Translation: If it works for severe influenza virus related lung disease, it is almost certain to work for coronavirus related lung disease.
3) the patents and "control" of their drug
4) Millions of $ in cash in their pocket (based on the news release and BioPub info they provided)
5) Most importantly drug that is ready to be used!!!...
6) They could start their trial tomorrow.
7) When they announce a CRO that will conduct the trial, this will immediately be in the dollars range. There's companies trading in that range with FAR less potential.
Big pharma could swoop in and make offers here, but I have a feeling these guys realize that if they get positive results in the next few weeks that the payout is going to be exponential...
Congrats to everyone who has found this before it shoots to the dollars.
Not interested in playing the old games. Here for factual conversation. Sorry to those I offended. Hope we can move forward without holding grudges but I understand if there are hard feelings.
I'm back because things have changed. The smoke and mirrors of the breath detection devices and Kal are dead.
We have a solid scientific strategy with solid scientific results from pre-clinical testing. There is massive potential.
1) Scientific testing in pre-clinical trials was successful. The lead drug Algernon has patents covering has outperformed the best available medications on the market currently for numerous indications with billions in potential market sales.
2) The lead drug we are testing is safe and has been used in humans. This eliminates massive risk. The likelihood there would be unknown safety concerns arise in Phase 2 studies are essentially non-existent given it's been used in humans before.
3) They are patent protected by Algernon.
4) They have expanded to tackle corona virus and could essentially fast track trials and could do so in the next couple of days.
5) All of this means they could get bought out or license their drug.
The future is bright but don't get caught with you pants down, this one will be in the dollars range. For those who took the time to do some DD and watch the recent video with BioPub, would recognize that Algernon is in talks to start trials on Coronavirus immediately. Don't miss that news release...
Good to see everyone again.
I appreciate AMG's due diligence, although to answer your question directly, the reason they are aggressively pursuing the use of this drug in Asia as opposed to American (for treatment of Coronavirus) is there are fewer hoops to jump through as it's sold there. In America they will need FDA approval. In Asia, they could solidify a deal with a CRO who works with the physicians who are on the ground treating these sick patients and they could "fast track" past ethics and essentially start treating patients right away because of the severity of the situation.
This drug could be the go to drug for mortality reduction in patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (a result of acute lung injury/inflammation caused by the virus).
WATCH THE NEWS RELEASE TODAY, these guys just announced they WILL CONSIDER USING THIS DRUG IN PATIENTS WITH INFLUENZA. HUGE. And they have the patents... they are protected .
This is going to be in the dollars range in no time.
Congrats to everyone who's been long. We have hit the jackpot.
Assumptions. Many assumptions. Lots of money has been made here, because pump and dumps are easy to make money off. Ride the wave.
You can say what you want, but one point remains, year after year, spike after spike... there is NO DEVICE. NO PROOF. Never has been, and probably never will. It's all hype, smoke and mirrors.
I believed, I did, I was on board... but these guys have let everyone by lying about having a device. If beta exists, prove it. Until then, it's the biggest pump and dump out there.
I have also been here since westpoint days. Watched this get pumped and dumped over and over.
Fact remains, they have no device, they never have. Absolutely zero proof they have a device except their text news releases.
Technology, yes, device, no.
Down another 10 percent. Shame. Sorry to those who own this like AMgoon
I can only imagine it would hurt to be “long” and know you’re chance to get out has passed and now your Stuck with worthless shares
Im only talking about those holding shares. They will hAve to wait among evil uncertainty. Thats their choice. Yes there may be a jump someday, but i believe it just happened. Any real sustainable growth would be light years away given the companies lack of leadership and poor track record.
Thats actually not true. They share technology but not progress toward their respective goals. This company currently has no plan, no shareholder accountability by management, and no ceo. With no volume (ie right now) this heads to 6 cents again.
Its actually not that complicated. Money was made off the pump by the big boys. Happens around november and they let this drop into xmas tax season like clockwork.
Lol i feel bad for those who didnt sell because its going back to 8 cents with no volume to sell even if you wanted to!
No CEO, no leadership, no clear path, and a recently FAILED clinical trial. This simply states that as of right now, they don't know where they are going with the company. You're right in that they are two separate companies working on two separate timelines. Unfortunately this will likely head back to 5-8 cents because there is no clearly defined plan of attack. Even those the technology is similar, without a plan, and someone to actually direct it, we know that there is nothing to sustain a SP increase.
But like Spliffy has stated, it's worth keeping an eye on, but VERY risky at this point. Maybe Cannabix management knew that if they had two companies doing well that it would create an issue legally, so they took the one succeeding an went with it.
And lastly... why did this stock just shoot above 20 cents Canadian for absolutely zero reason...? I mean I am not complaining... but I don't understand.
Looks like it is heading back to 8 cents. Hopefully people took their earnings for now!
They have the same technology as cAnnabix. They use the exact same faims and its done out of the same lab. That speaks for itself. These guys created two companies which should be one. They saw which was gaining more ground and went with it. Hopefully this doesnt get left behind. But lets be real, theres nobody even as ceo.
I hope to continue to see this run, but it might take time. Huge spike just happened on literally no news. The company has stated there is no material advancement and even if they have something, it won't be coming for a while. I'm going to hold, hopefully they will announce a new CEO before xmas. never know.
No resistance for miles
Powering through with buying support. Big boys are out to play and were on a rocket ship
Ticker BTH for those who feel like getting rich today
Not that hard to find. Search breathtec biomedical. They use the exact same faims technology. Its the same scientists and lab in florida. Hence the reason its about to blow up
Or realize that the sister is gonna make us all rich very soon
Theres not much in the way actually. Halts already happened so wont again. Could be good.
Just a matter of time before BTH does the same, given its the same tech.
BLO and BTH are the same thing. Same technology just different target compounds. Blows my mind that one has exploded, its a matter of time before the other does also.
The sister company has the exact same technology yet sits at 13 cents.... makes no sense !
So you think they are going to hire a new ceo, as opposed to abandon this one?
I have a question. But first, cheers to the longs who have found money on the other side. Ok, now here's my question. How exactly has one company somehow make massive jumps in SP, with the exact same technology, yet this stock sits without a CEO and a fraction of the share price. It is literally the exact same technology in the exact same lab. The value of this should be equal if not more, given that this company is detecting compounds of greater abundance, and the market potential is just as big... right? What am I missing?
In all seriousness I am confused.
Things are definitely up. For the best. Technological advances are up.
