wow.. time really flies.. doesn't it... 3 years went by.. that's 12 quarters... (people say they live their life one day at a time, or one mile at a time, I said, I live one quarter at a time.. referring to the earning result.. and when they delay earning result.. then those are some sad times...)
Glad we all still stick around btw..
:)
Stan
many microcaps will report Q3 result within the next 2 weeks (and some will post past the deadline). this should be interesting to see.
but tomorrow will be interesting to see if Fed will cut the rate. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't cut the rate as they don't like to be dictated by the market.
AOB and MDF are gaining momentum going through earning.
My guess will be AOB will probably stay strong or drop a bit post earning while MDF will probably drop post earning as it will take longer time to get the HMO business going and Q4 isn't going to be strong either IMO. lots of flu going on IMO so cost might be abit high.
JMHO
Stan
congratson your gain Ithildriel, 2011 is still 4 years away . if they keep paying 10-15% yield.. 4 years from now, you would already recoup 40-60% of your original investment. sounds like a bulletproof strategy to me. but obviously the market isn't entirely stupid.. so maybe there is something else going on before 2011..
please keep us/me posted if there are any material changes on their dividend or the tax ruling. I'm considering of buying some of these trusts...
Thanks,
Stan
Thanks Bob. Looks like there is no free lunch on this canadian energy trust (that paid 10-15% yield).
I'm tempted to buy some of this stuff however... we'll see how it goes...
Stan
Bob, what's your take on HTE,CNE,PWE,PGH and ERF?
Also, are their dividend real? are they sustainable?
Why can they afford to pay such a high dividend? (or why no one bid this stock higher)
Thanks in advance,
Stan
loved it (OT)
OT John. Nice.. I like the charger.. what color is your charger.. and have you drive it fast.. fast accelaration.. or race it?
Thanks. Glad to know that your neighbor likes it..
I like it too.. I feel like a kid getting a new toy... very excited... I don't drive it too fast (nor doing any fast accelaration) as that's just not my driving personality..
Though I like sport car a lot, my friend said that I drive like an old lady (I'm sure they are talking on a relative term compare to other people who like spports car as I don't think I really drive lilke an old lady.. on second thought I probably am..)
once in a while I did try to accelerate quickly just to see the turbocharger kicking in and give a nice torque...
but anyway, my friends were the ones going fast with my SLK.. flooring and red lining them.. I just hold my breath when they do that... I am probably not going to let them red line it anymore...
with the cool air intake installed... the sound of the engine is very nice... not too loud but quite distinctinve comapre to regular car..
Stan
ouch.. (just like in real life).. which reminded me that i'm trapped in cxti in real life...
thanks len for the answer...
Stan
thanks modern, unfortunately I'm already involved (or I should say trapped) with cxti since way back before they become grey sheets..
now what do you suggest the best way to unload this grey sheet stuff at a reasonable price..
limit sell order at .25?
TIA
Stan
Hog.. looks like ETLT is going back to usual price..
I'm still long though..
Are you long on this stock? or you are just watching on the sideline?
Stan
thanks guy. 7700 shares. that's impressive. I can't understand why the ranges is so wide for cxti. everyone is speculating?
what do you think these people buying at $2 thinking (if they are thinking at all?
What happen is someone freezes cxti last week before Friday close (like last Monday or last Tuesday). Will they get the .58 or will they get today's closing price (which might be .10)
Just want to know what happen for stocks that are frozen.
TIA,
Stan
digi, maybe that is just 100 shares trade at $2.. just to spark interest..
there is nothing left to this company...
I don't think you can sell a lot at $2..
it's .10 now..
Stan
Yeah Hog. I think ETLT is a pump and dump.. it's happening.. let's see how far will it drop later and then stay at that lower level for how long (months IMO)
the chart you showed me is nice and show it's breaking out but I've been long for more than 2 years and this is feeling like a de ja vu..
Stan
Digi, Do you mean 10 cents?
Congrats Bob. I should have done that with CXTI. I would do that for my other stocks... (cashed in on the way down)
Looking forward for AOB and MDF to continue to go up though.
and getting ready to cash in with ETLT on the way down after probably one last push upwards.. (it's very obvious it's being pumped and dump scheme)
Stan
John, congratulation on your new car, the SRT-8 is a beast. I assume you get the Charger and not the magnum. 6.1 liter.. that is huge.. probably bigger than the Z06 corvetter or the Viper.
funny that you mentioned about cars. I was about to mention it as well earlier but I thought it's off topic. I remember we discussed it a lot with CEO as well a while back.
I bought a Mercedes SLK last month. finally, after more than 2 years talking about it (about buying a convertible). I guess even my friends were tired listening to it cause I never ended up buying it but one day I showed up with the convertible, they were all stunned. I was also considering/testing the Audi TT, BMW Z4 and Porsche boxster. I like the boxster the most but according to my friends it won't suit me as the maintenance of the porsche will be a lot (and I'm cheap so I won't like to see the maintenance bill for the porsche). The TT was close too but I was close to buying the coupe and not the convertible because I don't like the ragtop..
so long story short.. I bought the black hard-top convertible mercedes.. I thought after a week or so the novelty will wears off but it's been a month and I still enjoy driving it a lot.. especially with the top down... I keep thinking before buying it .. whether I deserve it.. whether I "need" it.. but I'm glad I got it.... it's not like I'm breaking my bank (or buying drugs etc) anyway... also I don't buy the brand new one and I paid cash for it..
I still keep my other cars so (and as a result) I won't be putting too many miles on this convertible..
Stan
Bob, one more gain like that then I'm set for life. anyway, I guess it is important to sell when we think the price is set for perfection (that TGA has to do things perfectly like finding all the new wells that is not dry. basically thinking what are the odds of them making another big move like finding the oil wells that is not dry in the new land that they purchase, especially if they have been successful so many times, will they hit the dry oil this time..)
it's ahrd to say as well because if they have been successful a lot maybe it means they know what they are doing. and it should continue to high success rate. I guess there will always be some part that is kind of speculation when investing in the market (and we called it the market risk or maybe business risk)
Did you mostly sell near the peak Bob on TGA?
Stan
Thanks Bob. I learned a lot these last couple days on O&G industry. I'll continue to learn.
It's amazing to see TGA goes from $1 to $9 a while back. do you remember if the increase was due to the discovery of those 2 oil well/location. (Tasour and An Nagyah?)
Stan
Hey john, saw your post in the ETLT board.
Yeah.. I saw that rally.. haven't sold yet.. (as Shmo and studio predicted)
I hope we both will make good money on ETLT.
I thought I drop by here and say hi..
Shmo is right. I mostly post in the other board...
See you all around..
Stan
Thanks Bob. I think I understand you more. you are looking for potential growth.. not just current earning and production (and don't want to rely on oil price alone)
That growth that you are looking for would be nice.. but how do you know which well is not going to be dry when they drill a new well..
I remember one company posted that they drill the new well and it's dry and the stock drop (probably egy or cnr)
Have you heard technology/company that makes oil from coal? Any thoughts if that might be in play in the near future? or we still have so much oil that it is not necessary to find alternate fuel. (like the ethanol I saw the study in PBS that the cost to produce the thanol from corn is much more than producing the oil itself.. to grow the corn takes so much water and oil to run the machinery to maintain and fertlize the corn plants)
anyway, I'll check atpg, crk and bde.
I like it when company is paying down their debt.
hope the atpg growth estimate will really happen otherwise it will be like ncnc again (empty promises)
Stan
well Len I guess I'm not that weird.. maybe it's a true statement after all since many people said so..
yeah wall street is classic.. just like boiler room and glengarry glen ross.. and probably two for the money.. (but none is as good as the original which is wall street)
can't wait to see the next wall street sequel movie .. (Michael Douglas will play in that movie too)
anyway, maybe I should call you budfox from now on..
Stan
OT: Len..
this is going to sound weird.. but what the heck.. I'd say it anyway... I think you look a bit like Charlie Sheen...
I watched the movie wall street several times (I like that movie) and when I saw your picture last week, it kinda reminded me of Bud Fox..
FWIW...
Stan
Hi Bob. glad to see you still hold some MDF.. I know you sold a lot of your MDF stocks at high 2s so you aren't missing much either here..
DAAT tried to get into other business to increase revenue.. not sure if it will work..
anyway.. you seem to know really well about these oi and drilling companies... how about PDO and TVOC .. have you heard of them.. and one of the biger cap which is LNG.. I never understand why LNG is worth that much (similar feeling with CNR.. on why they are worth that much if they don't produce anything significant now compare to their market cap)
I notice EGY production decline last quarter (I thought only the net income drop)
thanks for the input on enht and bptr . I was considering them seriously but I got turned off with their negative book value..
also congrats on your recent multibagger on 2 stocks that you mentioned (one service company for oil and drilling/exploration company)
Stan
PS: been waiting since summer 2005 for mdf, and finally the time is come for my review on them. I said Q3 2007 that summer 2005. eventhough they added the new counties.. which theoritically should push the profitable dates probably one more year back but I think 2 years still enough time to determine/show that if they should stay in the business..
thanks len. that's something new and interesting that I learn today..
btwm hope that ETLT will not go back to .60 agian this time.. (but if hirtory repeats itself like always.. this rally will be over in 3 weeks and we'll settle again in .60s or .70s for many months till the next earning or pump and dump scheme happen)
in the meantime we'll find out if this is a fraud or not. I've lined up at least 2 friends that might be able to check (or maybe visit) to see if this company is for real or not.
Stan
Bobwins, thanks for the update on NCNC and DAAT. I didn't realize that you came to that conclusion already with Duquette.
also didn't realize that you've sold out of DAAT. but that's good for you as DAAT is in the $1s now from the $2s..
Do you still own any of these stocks? MDF, TGA, CNR, BSIC, EGY or ASPN
Any thoughts on ENHT or BPTR?
Tia,
Stan
Len, good to hear that. amazing you put ask at .86 and they give .91 to you. I wonder why don't they just give you .86 and keep the difference. I guess it doesn't work that way isn't it. (I thought MM usually will take any potential gain that they can take, and playing the spread etc).
Looks like today (and yesteray) is the chance to sell ETLT at nice gain.
And here we start the slide (october isn't a friendly month anyway for stocks)
Stan
Bob, any update on NCNC? Have you talk with David Duquette lately?
How about DAAT? Any thoughts/update?
TIA,
Stan
Nice move Bob. No one loses for booking nice gains.
and good luck riding with your free shares... should be fun...
Stan
ETLT pump is over and dump begin. Stock crash from day high. I didn't sell (yet again) this time around...
I guess that is it.. I think we'll see .70 again soon... And de ja vu all over again.. isn't it... but there is always be next time.. but whether next time we will sell or not.. That is another story..
Good luck all ETLT longs and congrats ETLT traders…!
Stan
PS: Len I hope you have sold this morning prior to the drop..
on obscure pick, steele, thanks for the additional info on SKBI and your take on it.
I'm also going to do more DD on this weekend. along with DD-ing ENHT and BPTR. but one thing I don't like with these 2 stock is negative tangible book value but I'm going to take a close look on their business and see if they have future or potential on it.
I haven't buy much stocks lately.. some of the latest buy, pretty much just adding BAC, ETLT, GENX, CXTI, and HQS.. which I think are all obscure picks except BAC.. some of my other obscure stocks are CDGT, SUWN, NMKT, NTWK, SGZI...
Stan
np Len, always glad if I can help (reminding you). I think it's "decent" price now.. you should be able to book some nice gains now..
I think I should sell some too but it's so hard for me to do that.. eventhough I know very well that 99% chance that this will go back down again after all the pumpers are gone (it's being pumped big time in yahoo board)
also tempted to freeze it in PSL7 and play it safe/conservative (I already play it safe for SGZI in PSL7)
Stan
why are you talking to yourself Len?
Btw, Do you make money on ETLT today (or the last 5 days)?
Stan
Thanks Steeledge. hope we both make money on ETLT. I would love to see ETLT gets more institutional holding. A couple instittution buying would be nice. which is also a vote of confidence that they are not a fraud (though this is not a bulletproof method)
SKBI looks nie. I will look more into it. Sales grow nice but I'm a bit concern on why in the last quarter they have to pay 700K interest expense (and whether this will be ongoing). that's a log of money to pay as interest.
I don't know yet what product do they make (and for what animal). there are so many of these kind of China companies now.. CKGT AOB SUWN SKBI so on so forth ..
tell me why you like SKBI...
Stan
steele, good question on ETLT. who's selling? this has been going on for eyars. I don't know where the suply comes from. we've been talking baout this "unlimited supply" topic for 2 years now in RB board. which why some of us suspected fraud and maybe the company makes money by selling shares.
everytime there's a rally to .70 or .80 in 2 weeks it died back down to .50 or 60 again... with low volume... which usually a good indicator but never so with etlt..
the number of insider holding also very low. too low IMO.. less than 10 %.. probably even less than 6% total... and they don't seem to care to buy even at these levels (but they don't issue for themself liberally as well which is good)
institutional holding is actually $0 as of recent report.. (one as 50,000 shares but thats pretty much nothing. I have more than that, and many more people in RB has more than that too)
All I can say (for you to just do swinging) is that it is probably best to do that. this could still very be fraud.
that's why I'm also considering selling some at some point (even before it gets too high).
Stan
Nice move Pappy. I'm still down on this one (NMKT).
not sure what to make of Mr Verges.
but so far I'm kickin but on ETLT. jk.. might be short lived though.. I need to listen more to people (especially people here in this baord) on when to start selling some ETLT.. don't want to repeat CXTI mistake... closing to a double (100% return) on 130,000+ shares, in about 2 years.
Stan
ETLT. maybe people think etlt should worth .90 as that is what the company use the valuation to buy the farms.. anyway I think that number is arbitrary because they could easily say it is worth $2.. then the farm owner wills ay then my farm is worth double as well...
or if the farm says issue me etlt shares at .40 per shares and then etlt will say , ok, and oh I thin kyour farm is only worth half of what you are saying..
so net net it will be the same.. it's however much they want it to be.. it will be...
I like to see it to be accretive though.. which they said it will be in 2008 and it will be crazy not to be accretive since they use so much cash for the acquisition.. and only a smaller portion that uses shares..
Stan
PS: someone mentioned that business week article cover the mango farms that etlt acquire 30% ownership
ETLT pump is over. ETLT chatter in yahoo board has died down for etlt (for now).. stock will go back to below .75 .. possibly .70... jmho...
but hopefully higher highs and higher lows (i.e. with each pump there will be new longs/sucker) :) I hope so..
I'm still long on strong though..
Stan
PS: Len, what's your take on ETLT now?
len, that's that I thought. I think I know you a bit (or a lot) better now
(on your comment , "If I owned it right now, the only way you could keep me from selling it would be to shoot me!"). I think I alraedy guess it that you wouldn't be holding CDGT after what they did the last 2 quarters..
CDGT fundamental isn't improving.. they have decrease revenue while they should increase it... they cite delays in roll out and closing advertising business which are unacceptable (excuses and more excuses)
and then selling shares at low price to fund operation and growth (what growth)
I was one of the a sucker buying at $1+ ($1.2+ if I remember correctly).. at that time they still earn good money and s how a lot of growth compare to the previous year..
I did have it in my last PSL before I traded out of it as it continue to slide... or maybe I have it in PSL 5...
they keep sendin gme nice colour brochure about their business and all their division (m rider etc etc) but the revenue never really improve..
I remmeber you talk about 2 kind of strategy that people have in psl 7.. swing for the fence and try to get decent return... I'm now the latter.. if I can freeze all my stock in psl , I probably might freeze em all.. 24% in a couple weeks (though I'm number #30 or #40 in the standings).. not too shabby... (though the previous PSL I'm doing bad so this probably not enough to cover the loss I have before)
and I probably won't pick any stocks that I don't currently own.. as I don't think that makes sense at all..
Stan
PS: any thoughts on AOB... ? or ETLT? I'm still holding both.. but now there are several people claiming that ETLT is fraud.. just like CXTI... which is a bold claim... almost all of of my etlt shares bought under .50 and the last add was .65... I want to be gredy but after what happen to cxti I tried not to be greedy anymore (but it's hard not to be greedy)
congrats to cdgt longs... but believe it or not.. after 2 days of 100% return.. I'm still underwater on this one.. my my my..
still not encouraged seeing their saled and profit continue to drop...
I think Len has cdgt in PSL
that is amazing return for psl
Stan
