Im a little confussd.. my broker has not converted my shares over yet? I do see the new symbol being traded and even bought some new ones but I still see the old symbol in my account with all the older shares still in it. I dont get it.. I guess thats Charles Schwab for you. Anyone else with an issue similar to this?
Round Numbers Theory..
I was just thinking about the 26:1 split.. someone previously mentioned that many of us have a nice round number of shares. Myself included. The split (good news in this case) is going to put us all a little 'out of whack' with the number of shares that we are used to seeing..
So I ask.. how many of you (besides myself) are going to BUY more shares to get back to a nice round number? I wonder if the number 26 was done on purpose when maybe 25 (or any multiple of 5) would have worked out just fine too.
If you want to get back to a nice round number AND get the shares a cheap price then now would be the time to do it. And I think the lawyers knew this when they filed.
Great. There goes my nice round number of shares.. (LOL)
This is a good sign to me. We are now one step closer to the big boards.
Personally, I think a close of anything above .185 will be great. Shooting up too fast will only set us up for an equal but opposite let down. I think this is a good move, for today. No reason we cant creep up 2 pr 3 cents each day for a while instead of going for it all in one or two days. Im long and happy.
I am in favor of the reverse split myself. If my four 25 cent quarters turn in to one paper dollar that's fine by me. If it takes us to the NASDAQ even better.
We all know the perception of OTC stocks. Like it or not the perception of a company is important. Being on the NASDAQ or NYSE is a better perception than being an OTC. I don't think anyone will argue that.
I say get uplisted.. announce another acquisition, and then release the cell. I would think those three things would be excellent for the PPS. Just my humble opinion. Especially if they all happened within a calendar year.
Agreed. I believe the overall exposure is nothing but a good thing for the entire solar sector. A big fish like Apple making that kind of splash is going to get a few other companies scratching their heads, and hopefully making the same move.
Of course I wish it were SLTD that could have landed that deal but we will have our time when the time is right. Once we have a cell in production I think that time will be right around the corner.. and hopefully it will be at the beginning of any solar energy tidal wave.
Lets all hope that we see more and more companies making a big move to solar like Apple did. This was a very good thing.
The cell IS a big deal.
A little while ago some of you were saying that the cell isn't that big a part of the PPS and I suppose that literally that is true, especially now since it is not in production yet. But the cell is the big difference between this company and all the other solar companies.. there are a bunch of manufacturers and installers already out there. But they don't have the cell technology that this one has. Once the cell hits the market then I believe it will be the difference maker between us and all of them. I believe it so much I put my money on it.
Investing is not the same as Trading.
I am not saying anything that all of us don't already know.. and its easy to see which one of these most all of us are doing by the things we say in our posts. Nothing wrong with either side, IMHO, and good luck to all of us, each and every one.
I like the idea of the 3D cell and think this stock will blast off once a manufacturer is put in to full swing. The sooner it happens the better but if it takes time then so be it. The idea of the acquisitions in the meantime should keep it going and growing. Maybe not as fast as the cell news will take it, but up and up none the less. Nothing wrong with a slow and steady growth. Ask any $100 dollar stock how it got there.. may not have started as a penny stock but I bet most of them didn't shoot up like a rocket. Not if they wanted to stay there.
I am long, and plan on holding for the next ten years.
I show a close of .1978 with a high of .202 on Schwab. The bid and ask is not that high so I am a little concerned. However, this should ring some bells and maybe attract a little attention. I expect a few new traders to buy in for some quick upside.
And that's fine with me, I say let it spike. As long as the spike settles higher than it averages now, preferably in the low 20's. Rocket rides do not a good investment make.. I would prefer a slow but steady ride up.
From a technical point of view, if you look at the chart pattern for the past year, there should be a spike in PPS someplace right around this time if the previous patterns hold true. For what THAT is worth.
Todays Spike..
I have no idea. I figured it was someone that simply made a typo on an order but then I got to thinking. I could understand a typo from .17 to .27 but not from .17 to .22 .. doesn't make sense to me so I don't think that's what happened. I think someone did it on purpose, or else it was just a hiccup in the system. But who knows. Bottom line is it finished the day back in the teens territory instead of the twenties.
I am a patient person and can stick to my guns, even on a horrible day in the market like today. I came in with high expectations, and know better than expecting it to be over night. Even if that means (only) .25 or .30 by the end of 2015. Anything else is gravy to me as long as it keeps going up. My fingers are crossed.
My view on Insider Trading..
When an employee buys its a great sign.
When an employee sells I have to ask myself WHY he sold. That's the important question. I don't blame anyone for taking a little off the table, we do that ourselves to lock in a profit. I don't blame anyone for selling to buy something else if its for diversification, that's only smart. Why would anyone put all their eggs in one basket? But if that employee sells because he thinks there are darker days ahead well then that's a problem.
Too bad we never know the answer to WHY they sold. That's why I don't pay much attention to it. I pay more attention to the news that is out and the facts that are at hand. Don't get twisted up in the smoke screen. Numbers don't lie.
To me, and this is just MY opinion.. but its all about perception. All of us formed an opinion one way or another based on the perception we had of this stock.
Things that can change your perception are earnings, announcements, the color of the company cars, lots of things. Some of them carry a little more weight that others.
I was first attracted to the stock because of the product itself. I like the fact that the energy output of the cell is increased because of the shape of the cell (hence the company name). After doing my due dills I formed my perception. I liked what I saw.. the product and the forward potential.. and bought in.
And here I am today.. going long as an investment.
The rest of you may have other things that shape your perception of the stock, as well as different objectives. Not everyone here is in it for the lang haul and will jump in and out as they see fit.
Thats the way I see it.
I like the way people predict where the pps will be in months to come...
I agree, no one knows where it will be at the end of the year. But I do predict it will be higher than where it is now. Thats why I am long in this stock.
Hi Guys..
I stumbled across this board for the first time today. I like what I have read from the crowd enough that I joined. You may be seeing me around here for a while..
I came across the stock SLTD a few months ago. I have always had my eye on solar power, the big names as well as a few of the smaller guys. The one small company I was watching lost my interest, I looked around some more and here I am now. I am a firm believer in this sector.
This company peaked my interest enough for me to buy a fair sized stake, at least fair sized to me. I am in it as an investment, not a trade. I have been an owner since mid October so I am still new. But I think I got here at the right time.
I am smart enough not to expect big things over night, and look forward to what the future has to bring us all.
Cheers, and Happy New Year!
Carl
