So the Sessions effect comes and goes in 24 hours! Fickle markets and an inconsequential man...
Coulda, woulda, shoulda, actually did, but no invitation for me?
Nice to see both good price and good volume action today.
Dude! You are puffin' some way strong s#!t! They aren't nearly that smart -not even close!
Bouncin' back and fillin' the gap! If we look at recent history, US volume has been way over all previous times since mid-August. There have been four big sell-off days, Aug 15, Sep 5, Sep 19 and Oct 16. Most all other days show nice buying. Not sure who or what drives the big sell-offs; I'm a fundamentals guy and don't really understand market makers. CGC is lookin' good right now!
I hope that means that up is the only way to go from here!
I’m thinking that the post-closing bids being down means that many people are planning to buy tomorrow.
I guess if I could hold on to this a few years ago when I was 40% down, I ought to be able to still hold now that I'm 1000% up. No worries!
Nice high class problem to have. I’m down since then too, about a third of your loss - meaning that I have less that a third of your gains. These are good times for all of us!
Agreed. I was thinking earlier today about how I felt awhile ago when the share price was headed close to $1USD and I was looking at a 40% loss. Compared to that, it’s a lot easier to be patient now. All good!
Is anyone able to identify the seller of 194,200 shares on the closing bell? That was pretty unusual. It came just after another 45,000 share lot was sold. Rarely do we see transactions of this size. Shorts cutting losses?
So impressive! LOL!
So right about that! Bory just can’t grasp that there is a disconnect between capital markets and the short term. Bruce has never said that near term earnings was a goal. If he thought like that, we’d never have seen the gains in value that we’ve realized -and will continue to realize. Building a new industry isn’t something that happens in a few quarters.
Don't know if I've ever seen a stronger buy run at EOD. Might bode well for next week!
C'mon! I was in at an average cost of $2.26USD before I bought my last lot at just under $25. Even that has doubled now. Just what are you waiting for? The train is pulling out of the station! Oct 17 soon come!
Sales definitely. Earnings maybe, maybe not. Price will still rise.
Kinda like Apple, Google and Amazon. Big change is all upside. The glass is not even half full.
Yes, I see Tilray as an insider play by Privateer (Silicon Valley angel money.). You can guarantee that the first tranche is always first to the trough
U.S. authorities (using the term very generously) are clueless on what to do about anything. You can count on them to be preoccupied with the Mexican border.
Yes, I keep thinking that Privateer was kinda an insider thing. Retail investors are left holding the bag.
Yes, and CGC gives his girl a ride home with stops along the way.
Money coming out of Tilray could easily go into CGC. Tomorrow never knows...
That being the case, why do you keep insisting that earnings are so important? Attracting capital at these levels clearly isn't linked to earnings for any of the canna stocks, or other unicorns for that matter.
Yes, wild day. Big dumpers late, followed by buying. Tomorrow? Tomorrow never knows...
Pretty much all buys at EOD. Bodes well to see money being parked in CGC over the weekend. Looking forward to Monday!
Not necessarily future earnings. Depends on time horizon. Look at Google, Facebook, Amazon, even Tesla. They all made plenty of money in the capital markets for their shareholders, long before earnings came into the picture. Operating profit and share price don’t necessarily have the intuitive linkage one might want, that’s the reality of 21st century valuation. Weird, but true.
That's actually quite naive. Earning at this point will never support the price at this point. It's all about the future a few years down the road. Patience Grasshopper!
Old school Jamaican way is with sweetened condensed milk. It gets the job done!
So what you are really saying is that the US political environment has to relevance to CGC? Bruce just said he would enter US markets once it was legal. My comments are totally on point.
I beg to differ. It is on topic, especially if you think the US is likely to roll (pun intended) soon. Are you also uncertain about climate change? We’ve got plenty in that camp too.
No doubt! US Confederates are mostly dead. Sessions is even older than he looks.
Ganja does have a way of opening closed minds. Irie!
That’s life in the USA. States Rights is revisionist history. I know it’s hard to see beyond what you were taught at a young age, but give it a try.
When they say it should be up to the states, all that means is that they are okay with racism, slavery and a general lack of voting rights. It has nothing to do with ganja.
Certainly traders will try to take advantage of the big open, but as far as the close is concerned I don't see why anyone should think $48.60CAD, which translates to about $36.90USD shouldn't stick. That's what Constellation was willing to pay. Ignoring all else, the sheer size of their investment suggests that their due diligence is pretty good and pretty certain. No doubt, they are way smarter than me.
Agreed. That’s one reason that a few shorts do so well before the earnings release. The broad market has yet to wake up and smell the ganja. Tomorrow is another day, but still awhile away from this being a dumbed down play on operating profits. If you look at the biggest stock market wins, it’s never about the profits. It’s about the ability to attract capital. CGC is in great shape for that!
No offense taken. My point is that false stigma cuts across all social classes.
It’s not just working class. I’m a well known professional who feels totally out of place in a glass pipe shop or buying rolling papers, much less being seen entering a dispensary.
My experience is that the traders and big shorts always try their best to chase out weak hands before earnings and then capitalize on lower pricing. Today’s volume was a bit low for too much of that to really be happening. All that said, I agree that Wednesday will probably be a red day. Expectations are so high that people are easily disappointed by earnings. It’s always better to play the long game -the high road (pun intended) is always less crowded.
What a joke! Do people really take memes like "sell on news" this seriously? Did anyone really expect a company that was gearing up for rec to post big fins on medical? I need to find a way to get some more cash in my account. This is a great opportunity to buy on the dip. I can't believe that folks who actually have money to invest are missing this. Unbelievable!
