The media were the debate’s biggest loser
By D. Parker
Open gates and bad outcomes
By Ned Cosby
The Grapes of Wrath, John Steinbeck’s novel about The Great Depression, offers many valuable lessons. One shows up early in the novel as Tom Joad, the main character, returns to his family home after his release from prison. He and former preacher Jim Casy approach the deserted shell of his childhood home.
“Doorstep’s here,” he said. “But they’re gone or Ma’s dead.” He pointed to the low gate across the front door. “If Ma is anywhere about, that gate’d be shut and hooked. That’s one thing she always done -- seen that gate was shut.” His eyes were warm. “Ever since the pig got into in over to Jacobs and et the baby. Milly Jacobs was just out in the barn. She come in while the pig was still eating it. Well, Milly Jacobs was in a family way, an’ she went ravin’. Never did get over it. Touched ever since. But Ma took a lesson from it. She never lef’ that pig gate open ‘less she was in the house herself. Never did forget.”
How do you push the story of Mill Jacobs out of your mind? Would you ever again leave a gate open?
In last night’s debate, former President Trump accused Kamala Harris and Joe Biden of leaving the gate of our southern border open for almost four years. Trump estimates that over 20 million illegal invaders have come into America because of their negligence.
Unlike Milly Jacobs, Harris and Biden left the gate open intentionally. They are cynically hoping that the rest of us will grant these invaders a path to citizenship. They reason that these “invaders who become citizens” will reward the Democrats for their collusion in the invasion.
Are we going to reward the people who left the gate open? Are we going to reward the people who have made our national elections such a vulnerable mess?
Isn’t there a legend that elephants have long memories? Perhaps the Democrats, who only hold Republicans accountable for misdeeds, will be held accountable this coming November 5th.
Others have warned us about what the Democrats are trying to do with our electorate, but no one has been louder or more consistent about this than Donald Trump. His attention to this invasion got him elected as President in 2016. Hell hath no fury like the wrath of the Democrats. Trump bears scars, visible and invisible, showing their determination to take him out of this election. When he points out what they are doing, they call him crazy and unfit.
On November 5th, we get our chance to say who is crazy and who is unfit. I suspect Ma would vote for Trump and call the Democrats crazy and unfit.

Something is missing from the Goldman Sachs report that Kamala quoted during the debate
By Jack Hellner
On the Tuesday night debate stage, Kamala continuously lied about things like Trump being a big supporter of Project 2025 and repeating the “bloodbath” and “very fine people” hoaxes; but she also touted a report from Goldman Sachs saying the economy would be better under her than Trump.
But getting to the truth with Democrats is not always as straightforward as it should be; it is like extracting an answer from Kamala on whether Americans are better off today than when Biden-Harris took office. (She refused to answer because the answer was obvious.) No, Americans aren’t better off.
People should read this article summarizing the report’s position, excerpted below, and look for what is missing:
Goldman Sachs sees biggest boost to US economy from Harris win
U.S. economic growth would likely get the biggest boost in the coming two years from the Democrats, headed by Kamala Harris, winning the White House and Congress in this November's elections, according to Goldman Sachs.
Under a Republican sweep, or even with a divided government led by Donald Trump, economic output would take a hit next year, mostly from increased tariffs on imports and tighter immigration policies, Goldman said in a note late on Tuesday.
…
‘We estimate that if Trump wins in a sweep or with divided government, the hit to growth from tariffs and tighter immigration policy would outweigh the positive fiscal impulse, resulting in a peak hit to GDP growth of -0.5pp in 2025H2 that abates in 2026.’
‘If Democrats sweep, new spending and expanded middle-income tax credits would slightly more than offset lower investment due to higher corporate tax rates, resulting in a very slight boost to GDP investment due to higher corporate tax rates, resulting in a very slight boost to GDP growth on average over 2025-2026.’
…
Under Harris, job growth would be 10,000 a month higher than if Trump wins with a divided government, and 30,000 higher than with a Republican sweep, Goldman estimates.
A Trump win would likely lead to increased tariffs on auto imports from China, Mexico and the European Union that would raise core inflation, Goldman says.
So, what is missing from the report? Well first of all, any reference to factual data from Trump’s four years in office versus Kamala’s term, of which we are still in the midst. All this report has is predictions. It is a true shame that so many supposedly intelligent people will ignore historical trends and data when “experts” report on things like the economy or the climate.
Somehow the report didn’t recognize that Trump’s tariffs during his first term did not cause high inflation.
Why don’t the authors acknowledge the massive harm that the Biden-Harris inflation has caused to families’ cash flow, instead of throwing out made-up numbers about the supposed tariff costs, which Kamala tagged at $4,000 per year (a clear exaggeration). She called it a national sales tax.
For example, a family that made and spent $70,000 per year, would now have to spend $84,000 to maintain the same lifestyle because of 20% inflation. Therefore, the actual increased cost of $14,000 is 350% of the $4,000, and yet Goldman doesn’t even mention that.
Then they say that Trump having tighter immigration would cause problems. That is pure garbage. They don’t recognize the massive harm and costs that unlimited immigration has caused and will obviously cause—hundreds of billions of dollars have been spent on these millions of new illegals, almost all of whom rely on welfare handouts.
They say that tax credits to some people will offset the massive harm that tax increases to all businesses will cause; that is just living in a fictional world.
They claim that increased government spending is great, but ignore the effects of massive deficits and the inflation the spending causes.
They also ignore how much the green initiatives cost families.
One of their most humorous predictions is that with Harris, jobs would grow 10,000 to 30,000 per month more than Trump and Republicans. Does anyone think anyone can predict that closely? They obviously ignored how far job counts are off each month, and the recent negative adjustment of over 800,000 negative by the Biden administration for just one year.
Maybe, they could look at this report on real income from the U.S. Census Bureau. The report shows rapid real income growth during the Trump years, with very low inflation, and that real income today is lower than it was in 2019 before COVID hit. People, especially in middle- and lower-income levels are getting hammered by high inflation.
Or they could look at Census data that showed that Trump’s policies of low taxes, low inflation, more secure borders, and energy independence led to record low poverty levels and rapidly rising wages, especially for minorities and those at the bottom. Trump was lifting all boats.
People have a very defined choice. Vote for a person with lousy results and massive media support, or vote for a person with excellent results and a media that seeks to destroy him every day. The choice is easy if we want a strong, prosperous, and free America.

Kamala forecast: Vanishing jobs, trillions added to the deficit, capital gains nearing 50%, and taxed unrealized gains
By Olivia Murray
The Kamala forecast isn’t looking so sunny, at least according to three leading groups that are largely known for being economically and fiscally aware—Americans for Tax Reform, the Cato Institute, and the Tax Foundation think tank based in Washington D.C.
Harris’s aides acknowledged that the campaign blueprint is a “strategically ambiguous” one, and while anyone who’s been paying attention knows it’s all deceptive to hide her progressivism, she’s dropped a few breadcrumbs here and there about what exactly she has planned were she to ascend to the presidency, and as predictable for someone who either doesn’t understand wealth creation or doesn’t want it for the little guy, the outlook isn’t bright at all.
Let’s start with a new commentary piece from John Kartch at ATR; Harris’s plan regarding raising the capital gains tax at the federal level would push some rates around the country toward the 50% mark:
Kamala’s 33% federal rate + California’s 13.3% rate = 46.3%.
…
Californians will face a top combined federal-state capital gains tax rate of 46.3% under the Kamala Harris tax increase plan. 33% federal + 13.3% state = 46.3%.
Harris recently vowed to raise the top federal capital gains tax rate to 33%. As noted by Wall Street Journal tax reporter Richard Rubin, ‘the all-in top capital-gains rate would be the highest since 1978.’ This is the Jimmy Carter era famous for its economic stagnation.
Kartch provides some context, noting that communist China has a 20% capital gains tax, while the average (socialist) European nation is 17.9%; Kartch also notes that as of now, residents in ten states would be hit with capital gains taxes over 40%: California; New York; New Jersey; Massachusetts; Minnesota; Vermont; Washington; Hawaii; Maine; and Oregon.
Here’s another point that Kartch makes:
Capital gains are not indexed to inflation, so Americans are stuck paying tax on some ‘gains’ that are nothing more than inflation — which is created by Washington and then taxed by Washington. The Biden-Harris high inflation of recent years makes this especially painful.
So, what do certain sectors of the Chinese economy look like, thanks to bad economic policies, like a 20% capital gains policy? Well, not good at all:

Hey! Mr. ABC Man, sing you’re sorry for me
By Silvio Canto, Jr.
The ball is in ABC's court, as they say. Wonder if management understands just what this travesty of ambushing Trump turned out to be?
For the record, I've watched every one of these debates going back to 1976. I never spent any time talking about the moderators except for that Candy Crowley moment in 2012. As I recall, many journalists were critical of Miss Crowley because she stepped over the line.
Enter ABC and the ambush of Trump. It was not fun, but Trump will have the last laugh. The loser here was ABC, as Emily Jashinsky writes:
There were two losers last night: Trump and ABC News. Because the former president avoided an outright disaster, it’s likely ABC will suffer much more in the long run.
Well, I don't agree about Trump losing, although he could have been better or seized on the opportunities rather than talk about crowd size or Haitians eating dogs. He pitched a quality start but I expected better. Nevertheless, he ended the night well, especially in contrast to VP Harris not answering any issue in detail.
As for ABC, the loss was complete. I don't know why any Republican except Chris Christie wants to spend Sunday mornings talking on their shows. The bias was so obvious that a backlash is due and necessary.
Force ABC to admit that it was an ambush, not a debate and make a few personnel changes. Otherwise, don’t look for a job at ABC if you want to work on a future presidential debate. It ain’t happening unless Mr. ABC apologizes to the public.

Merrick Garland's failures
By Peter Olsson
During his term as Biden-Harris’s appointed attorney general, Merrick Garland has often sanctimoniously bragged that his DoJ faithfully pursues the facts and the law in its search for justice. He repeated it again this week in his defensively toned speech trying to protect his DoJ from severe criticism and threats. Methinks Garland projecteth too much. He thinks his punting leadership responsibilities to Republican-appointed DoJ lawyers as special “independent” counsels or prosecutors absolves him of leadership responsibility as AG. Such appointments themselves raise legal and leadership questions.
The most glaring failure in Garland’s leadership occurred when his appointed counsel Robert Hur refused to indict President Joe Biden for his obvious classified records crime on the grounds of Biden’s compromised cognition and memory function. Instead of disciplining Hur or pursuing further duty under section 4 of the 25th Amendment to our Constitution, Garland stood silent. Garland could have appealed to Vice President Harris and other cabinet members to seek Biden’s removal via appropriate constitutional processes. Garland’s inaction has left our country with a president compromised cognitively and legally until January 2025. Did Garland ever notice Joe Biden’s cognitive failures during cabinet meetings? During individual meetings? Garland seems to maintain purity in his own performance and responsibilities by silence, passivity, or inaction.
The multilayered prosecution of Hunter Biden is another example of Garland’s passive leadership. Until a courageous and astute judge spotted the egregious legal delays and whitewashing efforts to get President Biden’s son off the hook, Garland was passive and silent, claiming he had given the special counsel full freedom and independence. In related matters, the American public is still in the dark as to how fifty so-called U.S. intelligence experts declared the emerging evidence implicating Joe Biden and his family in influence- peddling and other crimes as “looking typically like Russian efforts to influence a US election”…without further investigation by the FBI of which Garland is in charge.
Often, Garland seems to think that glaring leadership failures of his FBI in their investigations is not his responsibility to confront, correct, and prosecute. Any American can see the difference between the FBI raid President Trump’s Florida home and the passive, gentle, polite way the FBI investigated Joe Biden’s homes and offices in search of important documents. Much less what further investigation of Biden’s connections to China might be discovered.
Is Garland not responsible for stoutly overseeing the glaring failures of the FBI investigation of the assassination attempt on President Trump. Is the Secret Service so secret that the apparent stove pipes they occupy and that of his FBI can’t be investigated?
Finally, perhaps Merrick Garland's own passive and inactive leadership is a big part of the reason his DoJ and FBI are facing severe criticism and threats. Such doubts about Garland’s leadership has been accumulating for over three years.

Fun times: The embarrassing website issues of Comrade Kamala that promoted Joe Biden
By D. Parker
Sometimes you really have to wonder about the lefties, the people who want to run your life but can’t even properly work a website.
No offense to our fascist far-left ‘friends’(not really, but work with us here), but for us it’s simply a matter of policy to never directly access their online screeds -- websites -- and instead work through TOR and one of the archive sites.
It’s the same reason you wear heavy-duty rubber gloves when dealing with raw sewage. We prefer to avoid sharing our life story through an IP address. Granted, the probabilities are that certain entities can unconstitutionally invade everyone’s privacy, but there’s no reason to make it easier for them in the long run.
The upshot is that these archive sites can also yield some very interesting intel once you learn how they operate. Indications are that the Internet Archive leans left and this could explain a few anomalies. But the data on the collusions of Team Biden gradually transforming over the summer into Kamala in September are pretty amusing, to say the least.
The word is that Comrade Kamala finally posted something besides vacuous word salads about an ‘opportunity society,’ communazi price controls, and naked vote-buying schemes on Sept. 9 under the URL https://kamalaharris.com/issues/
According to (donning the rubber gloves) The New Republic: Embarrassing Copy-Paste Plagues Harris’s Launch of Policy Platform.
Kamala Harris seems to have borrowed her policies entirely from Joe Biden.
Shortly after Kamala Harris released her policy agenda on Sunday evening, users on X spotted something in the metadata: Much of the language appears to have been lifted from Joe Biden’s campaign website.
On Sunday night, X user Corinne Green pointed out that the issues section of Harris’s website contained metadata with language urging voters to reelect Joe Biden. This language was visible when links to the campaign site were shared, and in the website’s description on Google searches.
All of this creates the impression that at least some of the Harris campaign’s policy language was copied and pasted from Biden’s documents. That would be an embarrassing miscue from the Harris campaign, which partly came into being because of a perception that a refresh was needed to garner enthusiasm in the Democratic Party. It doesn’t help that the section on her website about her Israel-Palestine policy seems very similar to what Biden’s campaign was saying.
That was funny enough, but as they say on TV, wait, there’s more.
This was a ‘breaking story’ for a few hours on ‘TNR’ and then, suddenly, it disappeared off the page, as though it was a heads-up to Team Commie chaos, and vanished as soon as it accomplished its mission. Ah, but once again the Internet Archive and Archive Today are here to help, so nothing gets ‘memory holed.’
And despite the quick action to put out this particular fire, everyone can easily go in and see their mistake in all its glory with just a few keystrokes, with the requisite digital PPE of course.
It’s just a matter of going to the Internet Archive through TOR to get to all the snapshots of that page: https://web.archive.org/web/20240000000000*/https://kamalaharris.com/issues/
Then select one of the first of a couple of snapshots on her ‘issues’ (yes, we like saying it that way) from early on Sept. 9, 2024, and once that is loaded on your browser, right-click to open the proper pop-up menu and choose ‘View Page source.’
And simply search on the page for “re-elect Joe Biden.”
If it’s the proper file, you’ll see that they couldn’t even take the time to set things up properly. And they deign to tell the rest of us how we’re supposed to protect ourselves without guns and live our lives. It’s funny on many levels, given the abject arrogance of the fascist far-left ruling cabal.
But wait, there’s even more.
It’s amusing when you realize that this web page was created just after the un-Democratic Party's coup d’etat.
https://web.archive.org/web/20240000000000*/https://kamalaharris.com/issues/
The Internet Archive listing of all the snapshots taken of the page shows something very interesting.
For the better part of a week after the un-democratic elevation of Comrade Kamala as the candidate, it features a beaming picture of: Joe Biden, with links to his talking points and the previously mentioned references. Yes, the people who think they can run the world had trouble swapping names on a website. The funny thing is most people can tell the difference between Joe and Kamala, but then again, they can’t tell you what is a woman, so maybe their confusion is entirely understandable.
Comrade Kamala wants to pretend that she’s the ‘change’ candidate and isn’t the incumbent. She’s trying to play it that she’s somehow ‘qualified’ because she’s not Donald Trump. Running a campaign about nothing and away from Biden, even her website betrays her on that score.

Some Mental Disorders Are More Equal Than Others
By Andrew Hodge
I have recently been reflecting upon the “Trans Phenomenon” and why it is perceived and treated differently from other mental disorders. The recent incidence of this disorder is well beyond any numbers seen in previous eras.
The Trans Phenomenon is technically referred to as gender identity disorder (GID) and is “treated” through a combination of hormones. Females who perceive themselves as male are treated with testosterone in order to acquire male characteristics; males who perceive themselves as females are given estrogen and progesterone. In addition, surgeries are often performed that may include mastectomies, hysterectomies, and ovarian removal in women and castration in males. Also, plastic surgeries are performed to create genitalia that mimic that of the newly acquired gender.
This is very different from how other mental disorders are treated. There exists body identity integrity disorder (BIID). The BIID sufferer perceives that his healthy limbs are seriously diseased. He seeks amputation of these limbs in which nothing is found wrong.
Another disorder, more commonly found, is anorexia nervosa. Anorexia is most often found in females but is not exclusive to them. Anorexics have a fear of weight gain and often starve themselves. They often perceive themselves as fat when they are in reality severely thin. Anorexics can get so emaciated that they have severe complications that result in organ failure and death.
Patients with BIID and anorexia are normally treated with psychotherapy in an attempt to cure the disorder. This is very different from how we attempt to resolve GID — i.e., with hormone treatments and surgeries. In fact, the decision to undergo these procedures can often be made by minors who are not yet in their teens (pre-puberty). The treatments often have effects that cannot be reversed. One can easily become permanently sterilized, even early in the treatment cycle.
It is fair to say that to treat patients who suffer from anorexia and BIID in the same manner as we treat GID patients would be unethical and immoral. Think about it: would you expect any surgeon to amputate a limb from an individual based simply upon his sincere belief when the physician knows that there is nothing wrong with that limb? Would you expect a physician to prescribe Ozempic or other weight loss drugs for an anorexic? Would you expect a reputable surgeon to perform bariatric surgery on an anorexic? To do these things would be considered morally reprehensible. It would expose the performing physician to censure by medical licensing authorities and create a stream of malpractice litigation against him.
So why do we treat those who suffer from BIID and anorexia differently from those who suffer with GID?
I believe that the reason is that GID concerns sex. It seems that our society has conditioned us to believe that anything that is sex-related must be accepted and condoned, regardless of whether or not it may be dangerous. Questioning the appropriateness of anything sex-related is considered beyond reason. Because GID is sex-focused, otherwise valid concerns of medical ethics are waived. We saw this with the FDA approval of the abortion drug mifepristone, which was done without the usual FDA-required protracted clinical trials. Similarly, note the attempts to get rid of the term “pedophile” and replace it with “minor-attracted person.”
One thing that we know for sure is that the Trans Phenomenon is a large money-maker for hospitals, physicians, and drug companies. The synthetic men and women become lifelong consumers of necessity. The medical procedures involved in transition are very expensive and also run a fair degree of health risk. In order to maintain their new status, the synthetics must continually take drugs (hormones, etc.). They usually require continued monitoring by physicians to ensure health stability. The resulting revenues compromise the integrity of the medical establishment and the large pharmaceutical companies who are happy to support the trans treatments.
However, there is a dark cloud on the horizon: the de-transitioners, who seek to return to their sex. Data on transitioning are coming out of Europe, especially Britain and Scandinavia, and they indicate in studies that the transitioning of minors (without thoroughly researching whether this treatment is appropriate for them) is rarely a good thing. As a result, transitioning of minors has been severely restricted.
De-transitioning is likely to become a target-rich environment for medical malpractice attorneys whenever those who seek return to their original state bring actions against the medical professionals and institutions that allowed transition. Carefully watching this are malpractice insurers; they have substantially raised premiums on these practitioners and institutions or else have excluded transitioning procedures from their coverage. This will act to raise future costs of transition.
Econ 101 tells us that a rise in cost has a high correlation with a decrease in demand. So transitions may transition to the status of a much less common occurrence, barring the potential effects of government subsidies and mandates for “treatment.”

The Debate at the Kitchen Table

Eight Primary Forces That Threaten America Today

Trump’s Debate Anger Reflects America’s Anger
By Hank Vanderbeek
Trump won the debate hands down. He hit home runs left and right. His performance was motivated by anger. He is angry. Voters are angry. People are calling into conservative radio talk shows to say Trump’s debate anger is what they feel.
What they saw was someone who feels American’s hurt and who reflects their anger. Trump would not be human if he were not madder than a wet hen at what’s happening to the country and to him for trying to save the country, with the J6 lies, the lawfare, the avoidable attempt on his life, and a three-on-one ambush debate.
Who in their right mind would not be angry at what’s going on with the get-Trump agenda, and the vile divisiveness of the radical leftist administration? Kamala smiled in his face with a disingenuous opening debate handshake and then proceeded to disparage him with lies, condescension, and abject disrespect. Trump is being criticized by the talking heads because he didn’t do this or that in the debate. His emotion was what was called for at that moment -- outrage! Ronald Reagan was outraged at 1980 GOP debate when he angrily said: "I am paying for this microphone.”
Newt Gingrich was angry at the 2012 debate when the CNN host, John King, asked him about his second ex-wife’s allegation that he suggested she accept his affair as part of their marriage. Gingrich said, “I think the destructive, vicious, negative nature of much of the news media makes it harder to govern this country, harder to attract decent people to run for public office,” he said to thunderous applause during the forum in Charleston, S.C. “And I am appalled that you would begin a presidential debate on a topic like that.” To even more enthusiastic applause, the former House speaker added, “I am tired of the elite media protecting Barack Obama by attacking Republicans.”
Pundits are saying Trump lost the debate, partly because he was angry and showed a stern mirthless countenance. Not so! Witness the panicked Harris camp two minutes after the debate wanting a rematch. Why would anyone in their right mind want a rematch after over 90% of Democrats approved of their candidate’s “stellar” performance. Trump did not ask for a rematch. If Trump wanted a rematch, then one can deduce that Harris had won. When you beat someone in, say, a golf match, the loser immediately wants to set up a rematch. Many people want to get back at you if they lost. It's just in peoples’ nature.
Trump has a vision and values that come from his heart. Reagan, Thatcher, and Thomas Jefferson had vision and values. Even Obama had vision and values. He stuck to his principles, right or wrong. VP Harris’ leftist vision is the same as Obama’s, which is not the vision most Americans want, so she wants to change them to, well, get elected. Her vision and values are not popular, as polls are showing. Her values, like those of Obama, are hurting this country; government is the answer to all social ills, there can never be enough government. If that is true then why is the government on the verge of bankruptcy?
Government is choking the economy, stifling competition, driving businesses into liquidation, and crippling them with unnecessary regulations. Government is causing inflation, promoting racial unrest, and dividing Americans. Medicare, e.g., is bankrupt, yet Harris said, “I support Medicare for all. It is my preferred policy.” She wants to do away with private health insurance -- to be replaced by more government.
Trump envisions less government, much less government. He wants government out of our lives, out of our homes, out of our cars, out of our grocery stores, out of our airlines, out of the fuel industry that keeps us warm in the winter. He understands people want to be taken care of and tend opt for a government to fill that role, but he also understands that will not be needed if a healthy business sector provides jobs, because jobs give people pride, purpose, and the capacity for ownership, versus government welfare systems that keep people listless and indigent for generations. A job is the “welfare” of a healthy society.
Like a father to an indignant child, Trump answered Harris’s lies and empty promises the way Babe Ruth hit home runs. One home run was his answer to Harris’s copying Biden’s economic plan, saying it was about four sentences of “run spot run” sophistication. Another home run: when Trump asked her point blank if she supported abortions outside the womb, Harris looked the other way and did not answer. Trump swatted the ball again over the fence again with: “Joe Biden still hates the Veep after the palace coup that ended up in his removal from the 2024 Democratic ticket. I'll give you a little secret: He hates her… He can't stand her, but he got 14 million votes. They threw him out. She got zero votes." Another home run was when Trump said she has no economic policy, instead adopting Trump’s policy to the point that Trump offered “I’ll send you a MAGA hat.” Biden is already wearing a Trump hat, so why not Kamala too?
Trump’s anger is America’s anger. He won that debate, if only because Harris wants a rematch. Every red-blooded American should be at least as angry as President Donald J. Trump.

Open Borders America: The Haitian Question
Plus, an advocate slams Biden-Harris administration.

Haitian Migrants Causing Uproar
Haitian migrants are flooding into towns and cities across the country, and local citizens are beginning to express their frustration. A Temporary Protective Status provision was extended to Haitian nationals by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in the wake of the Caribbean island’s political and social collapse. This permitted nationals to be in the country legally, but it is not their immigration status that is causing the uproar.
In Sylacauga, Alabama, a city council was abruptly ended after residents called out their leaders, requesting they take accountability for the number of migrants that appeared in their small city of just over 12,000 residents. “[Haiti is] a failed state – their president (Jovenel Moise) was assassinated in 2021 – there is no way the State Department can vet these individuals,” said resident Dave Phillips, Fox News reported.
“We’re done,” City Council President Tiffany Nix said as another resident called out, “Please let him talk.”
State Rep. Benjamin Robbins wrote a letter to Mayorkas demanding the government respond. “Recently, my district has seen an influx of Haitian immigrants,” he wrote. “You and your agency have failed in your responsibility to notify our community of the relocation of refugees, provide any information to local leaders or answer questions.” He said the situation has caused “panic and confusion” and left local leaders “helpless.”
New Banner - This Week in Open Borders AmericaMeanwhile, in Springfield, Ohio, the Temporary Protective Status program has allowed around 15,000 Haitian migrants into the city of 59,000 since 2020. “These dramatic surges impact every citizen of the community, every citizen,” explained Gov. Mike DeWine (R). “Moms who have to wait hours in a waiting room with a sick child, everyone who drives on the streets, and it affects children who go to school in more crowded classrooms.”
Although the state has provided some additional resources, such as health screening in schools, vaccines, and education for drivers, DeWine said they will be doing more. One such effort involves the State Highway Patrol, which will help local police with traffic issues. Road safety has become a problem with so many Haitians on the road who are unfamiliar with US traffic laws. The governor also said they will send $2.5 million over the next two years for more health care services.

“We’re letting everything through the border because we’re not checking them, and you’re victimizing citizens, you’re victimizing immigrants alike. We’re not against immigration; we’re against unvetted immigration.”

What You Don't Know Might Surprise You
“One debate doesn’t change the issues Americans are facing every day.” — James Rickards
James Howard Kunstler
Sep 13, 2024
By now, you’ve probably heard enough debate about The Debate, so I’ll spotlight only a few points everybody else left out. You might know this, but Hollywood plays a larger role in the Kamala campaign than just stuffing the endorsements of celebs such as George Clooney, Taylor Swift, and John Legend into the corporate media tank. In fact, much bigger playas, Jeffrey Katzenberg and Steven Spielberg, are producing and directing things backstage at Kamala Central, so what gets in the Kamala news plays as a Spielberg movie like The Color Purple. Just so you know. . . .
Ms. Harris had the advantage Tuesday night of being able to speak in declarative sentences, while her opponent, Mr. Trump, is given, shall we say, to a more choppy, telegraphic speech delivery. It lent Ms. Harris the appearance of being intelligent. The catch was, everything she said was disingenuous or an outright lie.
One whopper — more significant than you might realize — was her stating that she was in the US Capitol building when the J-6 riot happened. You’d think she’d want to be on-hand there, seeing as a joint session of Congress was about to certify her as the first female veep in US history — a chance to be joyful and shine! But, in fact, at 11:15a.m. on 1/6/21 — hours before protesters breeched the Capitol — Kamala Harris was spirited away a few blocks to 430 South Capitol Street, the headquarters building of the Democratic National Committee, where a pipe bomb (or facsimile of one) had been planted hours before by some DC law enforcement person (Capitol police? FBI? DC Metro Police? A paid “contractor” to the preceding outfits?). The exact identity of the culprit has never been released by the FBI, though they have all perp’s cell phone data and closed circuit TV footage.
The plan, you see, was to disrupt the election certification process underway at mid-day in the House chamber by creating a furor over the discovery of the pipe bomb planted to assassinate veep-elect Kamala Harris — a joint blob / Democratic Party operation. The pipe bomb ruse, it turned out, was never needed because the FBI-instigated riot at the Capitol created a big disruption just in time to send the politicians scurrying for safety and cancel scrutiny of various state’s electors’ reports.
After that scare, the Senators and Congressmen did, in fact, drop the certification challenge and returned to hurriedly finish the certification process later that night of 1/6/21. The pipe bomb story barely made the news, and the scant news about it was expeditiously memory-holed thereafter. After nearly four years, as averred to above, the FBI has come up with. . . nothing. It is important that you understand just how nefarious your federal agencies are, and how corrupt the news is.
Now, as for the Harris-Trump debate, otherwise, and given the rigged features of the exercise, it’s obvious that Mr. Trump muffed several major scoring opportunities. When Ms. Harris dredged up the notorious hoax about “very fine people on both sides” in Charlottesville, Mr. Trump could have addressed the moderators, David Muir and Linsey Davis and asked them why they did not “fact-check” the utterance, which had been thoroughly debunked by the Left-wing site Snopes.com, advertising itself as “the definitive Internet reference source for researching urban legends, folklore, myths, rumors, and misinformation.” Nor did they fact check the likewise debunked “suckers and losers” hoax about US soldiers supposedly uttered by Mr. Trump at the Normandy D-Day cemetery. Actually, Muir and Davis “fact-checked” Mr. Trump over thirty times and Ms. Harris hardly at all.
In any case, Mr. Trump blew many other chances to pin Ms. Harris with her own lies and hypocrisies — like, failing to state plainly that in nearly four years she never actually visited the Mexican border (whatever her designated title was: “Border Czar,” “Root Causes Detective”) . . . failing to clarify that the president has been removed from the abortion debate altogether and has no role in telling women what to do with their own bodies under current law. . . that Ms. Harris’s voteless selection as nominee was a paradigmatic affront to “our democracy” that even her own fellow party members ought to recognize . . . that the War in Ukraine was actually started in early 2014 by Barack Obama, Victoria Nuland, and the CIA, not by Mr. Putin . . . and omitting to state that all — every last one — of the 2020 election lawsuits across the nation were dismissed on procedural grounds and not on the merits of their arguments, which were never heard in court. That’s just a short list. It is also rumored that Ms. Harris got the debate questions beforehand, since her husband, Hollywood lawyer Doug Emhoff, is a close friend of Dana Walden, Co-chair of the Disney Corporation board of directors (Disney owns ABC-News.)
Anyway, that much-awaited event is over now and we are into the homestretch of this election. Kamala Harris has still shown no disposition to meet the press, to answer any questions impromptu and unscripted. The voting public seems to be losing patience with that. Her poll numbers are sinking, despite her admirable ability to speak in declarative sentences and lead joyful laugh-fests.
What remains for our sore-beset country beyond that vortex of nefarious blobbery and balloting lawfare is the interesting development that our government is now pressing to commence World War Three before the election can happen. “Joe Biden,” of course, is lately as absent from the public consciousness as Rutherford B. Hayes, but whoever acts in the president’s name these days just gave permission for Ukraine to strike targets inside Russia with long-range missiles. So, far, the UK and the Netherlands have officially jumped in on that decision.
Note that the Ukrainians have no ability to actually do the targeting of said missile themselves, which involves satellite technology, meaning whatever missiles happen to get fired into Russia will be done by NATO personnel. Mr. Putin has made it clear that such action will have consequences. We might infer that means Russia will strike back at some NATO targets. I must imagine his primary target will be NATO headquarters in Brussels. Other targets would probably follow, perhaps even in the USA. Prepare to duck-and-cover, or possibly to put your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye.

Race in the race
By Louis Perron
When Barack Obama ran for president of the United States sixteen years ago, he snipped at his staff that they were pretending he was not black. Of course this is an issue, he apparently said.
Sixteen years later, the first African-American woman is running for president, and again, of course, this is an issue.
I remember a Republican pollster from the Trafalgar Group famously saying: “People lie to their spouse, to their accountant, and to their doctor. Why would they tell in all honesty to a stranger over the phone who they are going to vote for?”
For several election cycles in a row, polls in the U.S. have been skewed, largely because the vote for Trump was underestimated. People didn’t want to admit that they are indeed voting for a guy who, in the media, is branded as a sexist and a racist.
For much of this year, I have been suspecting that Trump was polling so well because the focus was on incumbent Joe Biden and because pollsters have finally stopped underestimating Trump. Now, with Kamala Harris in the picture, we have a new challenge. With the current media hype about her, and all pundits agreeing that she had a great campaign start, are voters really willing to admit that they are not voting for the first African-American woman for president?
We shouldn’t forget that herding among pundits, journalists, and pollsters has been a major challenge in the recent past. When everybody on TV says that Hillary Clinton will win (2016), that there will be a huge electoral repudiation of Trump (2018), that the presidential election won't be close (2020), or that Democrats have no chance to hold on to the House (2022), it takes courage to go against the mainstream or even raise an issue.
Some of the recent published polling showed numbers for Harris among white voters that made even Democrat pundits suspicious. I’m not saying the vice president can’t win. I actually tend to think she’s the slight favorite at the time of writing. But as for her getting 42% of the white vote, I’ll believe it when I see it in November.
It reminds me of the 2018 Florida gubernatorial election, when Democrat Andrew Gillum showed off against Ron DeSantis. During the campaign, there was barely a public poll that did not show Gillum in the lead. On Election Day, he narrowly lost to DeSantis.
So far, Harris and her team are handling the situation better than, say, Hillary Clinton in 2016. At the time, it seemed to me that Clinton made an explicit effort to ignore white, non-college-educated men, which happens to still be the biggest voting bloc. There is no such overconfidence with Harris, with the vice president making a strong appeal to the middle class in her acceptance speech and with the nomination of Tim Walz as her running mate. The “white dudes for Harris” movement is another component in the effort to take the bull by its horns.
It’s not only white voters who might not tell pollsters the truth, but also black voters, and in particular black men. Donald Trump is not particularly good at outreach. In fact, I think he has spent much of his four years at the White House explicitly trying to turn off the majority of voters who did not vote for him. But if he did any meaningful outreach into the Democrat coalition, it was with black men. In addition to endorsers, he also used criminal justice reform to do that, and it worked surprisingly well.
Let’s also not forget that a U.S. presidential election is de facto a governor election in a handful of states. Last time, Joe Biden led Donald Trump substantially in nationwide in polls, and when it was all said and done, fewer than 50,000 voters in three states decided the election. This time again, this is a race that will be decided in the final sprint.

Ohio Sending Troopers, $2.5 Million to Springfield Amid Haitian Migrants Influx
By Rachel Acenas
September 11, 2024
US News
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine on Wednesday announced that he would deploy state troopers and commit $2.5 million to Springfield, a city that is facing a surge of Haitian migrants.
Thousands of Haitians have flooded the area over the last several years, and the influx has created major health and traffic issues in the city, according to the Republican governor, who blamed the federal government for its lack of action on the matter.
“This afternoon, I outlined the support the state has been providing Springfield and Clark County related to the surge of Haitian migrants into the community,” the governor wrote on X. “I also announced plans to expand primary healthcare access and traffic enforcement in the area. As we move forward, we will continue to do everything we can to help the community deal with this surge of migrants. The federal government has not demonstrated that they have any kind of plan to deal with the issue. We will not walk away.”
Health Care
The governor outlined the details of his plan, which includes the expansion of primary health care services. He pledged to commit $2.5 million toward expanding primary care access for “everyone living in Springfield.”
According to DeWine, the influx of Haitians to Springfield and Clark County has significantly impacted local primary care providers. An increased number of patients and the need for more translation services have posed challenges for those trying to provide care.
The governor stated in a press release that migrants from Haiti generally have had little to no health care services prior to arriving in the United States. Their lack of health care access also means many are not vaccinated, the governor said.
Traffic Issues
DeWine said that the influx of Haitian migrants in the city have prompted major public safety concerns.
To address the increase in dangerous driving “by inexperienced Haitian drivers” and others who disregard traffic laws, the governor directed the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) to help the Springfield Police Department with traffic enforcement.
Troopers will begin the traffic enforcement starting Thursday morning.
Springfield in the National Spotlight
The city has been cast in the national spotlight as stories of Haitian migrants eating pets in the city spread online. The topic even featured at the presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and 45th President Donald Trump.
The former president used the city of Springfield to point to the dangers of illegal immigration.
“They’re eating the dogs. They’re eating the cats. They’re eating the pets of the people that live there,” Trump said.
Moderators told Trump that the rumors are false. DeWine in his announcement did not mention the controversial pet-eating claims.
Meanwhile, Harris dismissed his comments about Haitian migrants eating dogs and cats during the debate. She laughed and described his comments as “extreme.”
Trump’s running mate, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, has acknowledged the possibility the claims are not true while also highlighting the issue of illegal immigration.
“In the last several weeks, my office has received many inquiries from actual residents of Springfield who’ve said their neighbors’ pets or local wildlife were abducted by Haitian migrants,” Vance wrote in a post on X. “It’s possible, of course, that all of these rumors will turn out to be false. Do you know what’s confirmed? That a child was murdered by a Haitian migrant who had no right to be here.”
Vance was likely referring to an 11-year-old child who was killed in a bus crash in Springfield. The incident involved a Haitian immigrant driver who was not licensed to drive in Ohio.

Sweltering classroom conditions send children to the hospital
By Olivia Murray
A public school district in the Orlando, Florida area has been dealing with “ongoing” air conditioning “issues,” and it’s entirely unsurprising when you dig into the district’s priorities.
First, from a new report by Miguel Rodriguez, published at Hoodline today:
A sense of urgency has gripped local teachers with rising temperatures within Orange County school classrooms due to malfunctioning air conditioning systems.
The Orange County Classroom Teachers Association is again bringing safety to the forefront after cooling issues continue to disrupt classrooms and affect students' well-being.
According to WFTV, Ocoee Middle School’s failed AC resulted in classrooms heating up to 85 degrees and three students being hospitalized on Monday.
Per rodriguez, president Clinton McCracken of the Orange County Classroom Teachers Association (the local teachers union) alleged that he had photographic evidence showing the extreme indoor temperatures; Rodriguez also reports that the situation at Ocoee Middle School is not an “isolated breakdown” but one occurrence in an “ongoing” incidents, as there were similar problems just last week at two local elementary schools, Timber Lakes and Stone Lakes.
Now when I read this, I immediately wondered about the political influences on the district, suspecting that perhaps the progressive “climate change” narrative had a foothold, and had something to do with the failed air conditioning systems. It took me all of three seconds to uncover, and… I was right on the money. From a press release at the school district’s own website in 2022:
Orange County Public Schools rolls out Sustainability 2030. The goal is to inspire action among students and staff to improve the environment and make a positive social impact in our community while reducing costs to keep dollars in the classroom. The plan is to be used as a road map to navigate change over the next nine years.
The development of OCPS Sustainability 2030 ensures alignment with local municipalities’ sustainability goals, the United States Green Building Council’s whole school sustainability framework, and the United Nation’s 17 sustainable development goals. Input from over 47,000 staff, students, parents and community members helped to develop the plan for OCPS. A total of five sustainability targets were identified as priorities.
The middle school’s home website is also emblazoned with Pride and “Pulse Remembrance” Month marketing material; “Pulse Remembrance” is for the Pulse nightclub where Islamic jihadist Omar Mateen massacred gay clubgoers. Furthermore, Orlando is a Democrat stronghold in the state; for reference, it largely falls in Florida’s 10th Congressional District, currently represented by the Gen Z Marxist, Maxwell Frost. (Both of the aforementioned elementary schools are comfortably within this boundary as well.)
As you read though, the district identified five “sustainability targets” as major priorities, which include “Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy”:
Main objectives include: decrease energy use intensity, decrease carbon emissions, increase use of renewable energy, increase energy conservation and renewable energy awareness, and increase sustainable building design construction rating.
Do the A/C units have some sort of governor on them? The last time I visited California (2021) I stayed in San Diego, and by rule of some type of local ordinance due to some type of “climate crisis,” I was not able to lower the temperature below somewhere in the mid-70s—despite it being unbearably warm. Is that what is meant by “energy conservation”? Probably.
Are these units “energy efficient” appliances, which really just means they’re inefficient? (If you have a new washer and dryer, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.) I’m thinking yes.
Is the district sourcing “renewable” energy from unreliable sources that can’t support the demands of the grid? It appears so, as the district is abandoning the coal that keeps everything running, in favor of “clean” energy options.
Oddly, the district doesn’t offer specifics on how these “sustainability” policies are actually implemented, so we are left to speculate and draw logical conclusions; “strategically ambiguous” as the progressive Democrats like to say!
“Sustainability” can be deadly.

Where is Sam Donaldson when we really need him?
By Silvio Canto, Jr.
Once upon a time, there was Sam Donaldson reporting from the White House on Peter Jennings' nightly newscast on ABC.
It was my favorite for a long time because you felt that Sam was shooting straight.
Enter David & Linsey, and a total embarrassment for ABC.
I agree with Liz Peek:
The biggest loser in the first (and likely only) presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Trump was ABC News, which hosted the faceoff. The moderators, David Muir and Linsey Davis, embarrassed themselves and their network by, among other things, fact-checking Trump in real time on more than one occasion – sometimes incorrectly – while allowing Harris to spout serial lies and distortions.
Social media blew up early on in the debate with commentators on the right, in particular, calling Tuesday night’s faceoff the worst and most one-sided debate in history.
Indeed, most one-sided in history.
I've seen all of these debates since 1976 and the moderators have generally been fair and serious.
Yes, Candy Crowley helped Obama in 2012, but Romney still had a chance to win. The ABC moderators last night were just horrible.
They fact checked Trump six times and Harris 0.
Really?
So will this debate change the trajectory?
Probably not but you will see a lot of polls claiming that Harris won.
At the same time. I don't see anybody changing their minds by what they saw last night. If you hated Trump then, you hate Trump now. If you think that Harris speaks in word salads, then you keep thinking that.
On the critical side, Trump keeps taking the bait and he did too much of that last night.
So I hope he avoids that if we have a second debate ... if we actually have a second debate.
