Trinity Mobile and Gavitec Connection from 2005.
http://www.ts.com/about/salford-mobile.html
Salford Reds win with mobile tickets
Leading ticketing technology provider ts.com Ltd. teamed up with its partners Trinity Mobile and Gavitec to pilot the latest in SMS event ticketing for the Salford City Reds Rugby Club. Fans were able to use their mobile phones to get entry to the exciting home game win against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats on Friday 19 th August.
The SMS ticketing pilot comes as an addition to the multi-channel ticketing service ts.com has been providing the club during the 2005 season, which has enabled fans to buy over the web, phone and on the day of the game.
Working with Trinity Mobile, providers of the latest high performance phone scanning kiosks and Gavitec AG, suppliers of specialist barcode readers, ts.com was able to offer Salford Reds' fans the opportunity to receive a mobile ticket via SMS for the first time.
Fans received a ticket on their mobile handset, which included a 2-d matrix barcode containing data unique to the ticket holder and event. The bespoke ticketing service meant that tickets could be sent to all makes of phone and could also be scanned and verified from all phones at stadium access control points. Scanning during the pilot had a 99% success rate compared with only 50% achieved during previous trials using traditional scanning hardware. At the ground, the mobile ticket was not only discounted from the normal ticket price, it also acted as a promotional voucher entitling the customer to a free beer or burger.
Commenting on this innovative ticketing service Salford Reds CEO Dave Tarry said, “With the move to our newly-designed and purpose-built stadium in 2007, we wanted fans to experience one of the brand new innovations we will also be bringing to our event ticketing. We are delighted with the positive feedback from the fans”.
Matthew Hare, Managing Director of ts.com added, “We are delighted with this latest addition to our ticketing product portfolio. Our alliance with Trinity Mobile and Gavitec allows us to offer a new and innovative ticketing technology to our clients and their customers. Received very favourably by the fans and easy to use, we look forward to increasing interest in using SMS ticketing from the sports and other ticketing industries”.
Trinity Mobile Managing Director, Rod McKinty said, “We are seeing tremendous business growth with our enabling technology solutions. Salford Reds are a very forward-looking club as their new stadium proves, and we look forward to working with ts.com to roll out the solution to other clubs and venues in the coming months”.

SoxFan,
I could buy a cow, feed and care for the cow each and every day, milk the cow, and then put the milk through the necessary processes and then finally enjoy it.
Or
I could buy it at the grocery store.
I prefer the later and I see qode in a similar way.
Qode does what I want better, faster, and cheapter than other means! That is the value that it seems you to be unwilling to see.
There is no blindness so great as the blindness which refuses to see!
P.S. I feel I should ask forgiveness for even responding to your foolishness. Why exactly are you here again?
Transcript for Florida News Program regarding Qode/Neomedia
If you've ever been at the movies thinking about which one you should
see or maybe you've been at a bus stop wondering when the next bus
would come.
The answer could be as simple as looking at your cell phone.
Ten years ago, a scene where many people were on their cell phones
would be rare.
Now, it's common and what's rare is what one Southwest Florida
company is doing with them.
NeoMedia Founder Chas Fritz explains, "you point, click and launch
and one click you're right at the content."
NeoMedia Technologies developed Qode - a one-click process allowing
you to look at something you want more information on and get it
almost instantly.
Your cell phone will either take a picture of a so-called smart code,
or barcode or you could enter a keyword.
In any case, this is a fast track to the mobile internet.
Fritz says, "It's a pain to surf the web so what we've done is make
that process so simple that my mom can do it."
Call it Google on the go. Let's say you're at Blockbuster and want
to see the trailer for 'Man On Fire' - just use your cell phone.
The technology is already in use in Europe but it's still a couple of
years away from hitting the States.
Fritz said, "this device has actually kind of been a toy up until the
last five years and now it can be a tool."
Admittedly, the target audience is fairly young - 30 years old and
younger to be exact.
"This is what we call the gotta have it now generation - we all live
in the moment and moments pass," Fritz said.
Now they don't have to. If you see something you want more
information on just use the remote control for your life - point,
click and you'll see what else it can do, too.
For example, print a business card with a smart code or even a
t-shirt and it could take people to your personal MySpace website or
a business page.
Your phone could even be a tool at the grocery store.
Scan a barcode and your phone could access coupons for the product or
give you a list of ingredients.
Still, this invention isn't for everyone.
Resident Tony Bellefond said, "sometimes, there's too much technology
and other times, when you have more technology there's more things
that can go wrong. I'm just an old fashioned kind of guy. All I want
my cell phone to do is make calls and take them in."
That used to be true but these days it's hard to find phones without
extra options available.
That's an advantage for NeoMedia.
Resident Pam Naylor said, "I would think anything you could use your
cell phone for that would make whatever you're doing faster, quicker,
more convenient would be ideal."
Her daughter, Ashbe Naylor said, "I use my cell phone for a lot of
stuff. I look at movie times on my cell phone. It's like I have
everything on my cell phone right there."
With Qode technology, you could even sit outside a house for sale and
get all the information you ever need.
Fritz said, "it's at the moment you're interested you can now point
click, key in a word and launch."
The device is also capable of searching and delivering content in
other languages like Spanish.
All of this from a small, quiet company in Fort Myers - and yes, soon
you'll be able to look that up, too.
Qode requires a one time download you can get from a link you can
access from our homepage under the 'hotlinks' section.
The tecnology is already used on more than one hundred and thirty
phones in thirty five different countires.
NeoMedia is a publicly traded company based in Fort Myers but it has
offices around the world in cities like London and Stockholm. You
can visit their website at http://www.neom.com.
News Flash---Wink TV special on Qode will not air until 11pm tonight. Can someone tape it electronically and then post it on utube?
According to DomainTool.com
There are 58,000,000 domains
Just 10% of those domains is 5.8 million and if they pay a mere $100 for only 1 of their key words....that is $580,000,000!
When this hits it will be huge!
Martin Copus, COO of NeoMedia and head of its mobile business unit, explained the reasoning behind the re-branding exercise.
“The original name, PaperClick, made a lot of sense. You would embed a special code into any ‘paper’ document, use a device to read that code, and with a ‘click’ take the person to the Internet where a lot more information could be found relating to that document. With the proliferation of mobile devices and applications, however, this technology saw its market potential move well beyond its original application and name.
“Now,” he said, “with our strong Intellectual Property portfolio and our increasing ability to scan all kinds of codes, we are setting out to create a Global Industry Standard for direct-to-mobile-Internet connectivity, so a powerful, assumptive, high level brand-name becomes not only desirable but necessary – and qode really delivers the goods. The fact that NeoMedia already owned the trademark rights to qode from a previous business transaction made it a natural choice.”
“Mobile marketing enables brand marketers to interact with consumers, like never before, creating a one-to-one dialogue with their consumer, anytime and anywhere,” said Laura Marriott, executive director of the Mobile Marketing Association. “MMA member companies, like NeoMedia, are leading in the development of this exciting new channel.”
qode takes the exciting new medium of mobile marketing (where marketers interact with consumers via their cell phone) to new heights by offering one click connectivity™ direct to the mobile Web, where web sites and multimedia can be quickly and simply accessed. qode also incorporates a set of personalization fields and reporting options that empower the marketer to develop and grow one-to-one relationships with new and existing customers, wherever and whenever the consumer chooses. Although just poised to take off in the U.S., mobile marketing has already been embraced by major household-name marketers and their consumers in Asia and Europe. qode also goes beyond consumer marketing, with enterprise applications including product registration, homeland security, food labeling, inventory control and more.
The qode platform works with any Web-enabled mobile device – no small feat considering the plethora of handsets, carriers and subscription options today. Some of the new enhancements made to the qode platform by NeoMedia include:
The qode Link Manager -- the application used by marketers to link URLs to a keyword, barcode number, or smartcode as a part of their mobile campaign -- has been greatly enhanced. Its rules processing now includes day parting, which allows marketers to deliver different content based on the time of day -- down to the minute if desired -- and smartcodes can now be generated in Encapsulated Post Script (EPS) as well as PNG, TIFF and Bitmap file formats for maximum flexibility in artwork and production finishing applications;
The architecture of the qode platform is now a distributed model, providing even greater reliability and improved scalability; The qode mobile software is now available in five languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian and German, with Chinese to be added shortly;
Downloading qode to a mobile phone is now easier and faster than downloading many ringtones, with the qode platform recognizing the make and model of a user’s handset, and automatically providing the right version of software for download.

Consumers Reap Rewards As HP Powers Up The IT Behind Qode
Qode delivers product reviews, descriptions, promotions and purchase options on products of interest. It also offers a personalized Web site for each shopper where products can be purchased or saved for future purchase. Qode initially implemented an HP 9000 D-Class Enterprise Server as a development platform, and later upgraded to the HP 9000 N4000.
The Key for us all: Getting qode on the vast number of handsets.
Once that happens---key words are valuable. Consider a mere 1 million keywords at a mere $100 each. That is $100,000,000 dollars! And that is per year!
Put that is your share pipe and smoke it!
Did I just say that! lol.
Due mostly to the success of i-Mode, more people in Japan access the Internet via handhelds than via their PCs. i-Mode boosts millions subscribers and will soon pass AOL as the number one online portal if it continues to grow at its current rate of about 45,000 new subscribers a day.
i-Mode is more successful because:
there is quality content already available - subscribers are offered nearly 19,000 sites
the price is small - equal to $1 a month
That is a little unclear, but it appears that Scanbuy has requested this...This would mean no trial!
It is likely that they know they are going to loose and they believe the Judge will grant better terms to them than NeoMedia has....It is further likely that they want to move on with their business, which would mean they are not interested in colaboration.
Obviously some of this is conjecture so...

An all-time record 256 million mobile phones were shipped worldwide in Q3 2006, up 22% from a year earlier. Amid further signs that ‘Razr mania’ has peaked, Motorola lost its crown as the world’s fastest-growing top-six vendor for the first time since Q1 2005. High demand for the Walkman and CyberShot ranges helped Sony Ericsson to grow quickest, at 43% annually, compared with a slightly lower 39% from Motorola. Meanwhile, Nokia reached its highest mark for 3 years, registering 89 million units for a 35% share. Samsung gained sequentially one point of market share, due to healthy sales of its new Ultra Edition portfolio of slimphones. In contrast, despite the wildly popular Chocolate family, LG registered just 6% annual growth; its slowest rate since our records began. BenQ-Siemens continues its almost inevitable movement to market exit. Following 716 million units shipped in total globally during the first 9 months, Strategy Analytics maintains its forecast of 1.00 billion units / +22% YoY for the full-year 2006.

Companies rush to mobile marketing's potential
Sep 1, 2006
Colin Gibbs
If you're seeking evidence that mobile marketing is truly-and finally-gaining ground, look no further than Third Screen Media's bottom line. The Boston-based firm claims it saw more revenue in July than during the entire first quarter of the year, thanks largely to big-budget campaigns from major brands including American Express, Toyota, ExxonMobile and Burger King. Third Screen said it has tripled its ad impression total-loosely defined as one ad viewed once by a wireless user-from 30 million a month to more than 100 million a month so far this year.<b\> "One of the fun parts about what's happening is that, unlike in the early days of the Internet, we're seeing Fortune 500 brands right out of the box," said Tom Burgess, Third Screen Media's chief executive officer."We're seeing (advertising) budgets that last year were $35,000 and are now in the $350,000 range."....<b\>

RE: "Moreover, it would be very easy for a judge to view MSFT and others efforts as a mere attempt to try to cirucumvent our patents and rule in our favor. "
"This is not how the thought process of a judge works........"
That is a very general statement.
If a Judge determines that a big company like MSFT is essentially trangressing a little guys patents and have made a mere and small change to circumvent the patents, it is very possible for them to rule this way.
But obviously this is conjecture...time will tell...you know the rest. :)
Another way to look at this is we should be thanking MSFT for introducing this tech to the masses for us!
This space is bigger than any of our little pea brains can imagine and as I said before if NeoMedia can be successful in just one country of any significance we all make money with this company! Especially at these prices--if anyone wants to get in the game with fresh money now! If I had more I would!
And here is another reminder---we are rolling our our tech now! Microsoft is just introducing the idea. Gavitec has had a 2d code generator up and running on their website for sometime now.
Again--they have been perfecting mobile ticketing, to mention but one facet of this tech, for 5 years now!
We are ahead of the curve grasshoppers!
Once more,
Again from our very first patent:
After the two-dimensional bar code data is scanned by the scanner 34, a decoder 36 is used to decode the raw data into usable commands and data. The decoder is typically a software program executed by the microprocessor of the computer, and provides thereby to an Internet browser 40 the URL which had been encoded by the vendor into the symbol 12. The browser 40 application is then loaded (if not already running on the computer 32) by the launch command, and the URL is used to access the Web site of the vendor accordingly at the target server computer 46 via the Internet 44. <b/>
As a result, the user may automatically access the vendor's Web site to obtain a computer file therein without having to enter the URL by a keyboard, thus eliminating all chances of error due to manual data input. The requested file is obtained from file storage and generation means 50, and sent to the client computer via the Internet for display to the user on the browser 40.
The whole point is AUTOMATION! Better, faster, cheaper, easier, more robust....
I believe we are covered!
I encourage all to go back and read the first patent as I have and you will note an incredible level of detail! (as is evidenced in the small snippet above).
To me it is highly unlikely that these intelligent and highly skilled and devoted people did not think of something like this!
Brewskih, you said “NEOM does not have a patent that says anything about an URL embedded directly in the code. If they do show us the patent please.”
I am not an expert on this technology and on patents like you, but I do think that we could be protected under our very first patent.
Consider the following quote:
"The present invention is a system and method for providing automated access to electronic information stored in a database in either a local or remote location. The system utilizes a machine-readable code printed on a document, referred to herein as an intelligent document since it stores information used to automatically access the information. The machine-readable symbol comprises encoded source data, wherein the source data comprises application launch information as well as file location information.. The source data is encoded and printed, and then distributed by the vendor by any logical means to the end user. The end user then scans the code via appropriate code scanning (e.g. bar code scanning) equipment, decodes the raw decoded data, and the file location information is then used to access the appropriate file. In a preferred embodiment, a Web browser program is launched, and the URL of the vendor's Web site is accessed through the Internet. Local file retrieval may also be implemented on the client computer itself, as well as over an intranet or LAN environment. Additional user-specific demographic data such as the user's name and address may also be encoded in the machine-readable code when the document is specifically tailored for individual targeting, such as mailing labels. This demographic information is uploaded to the WWW site for use by the vendor. In addition, the present invention encodes security data, such as an encryption key, for use in secure data transmissions such as electronic commerce over the Internet."
And remember this is only a mere summary of the patent, within each patents are many many additional claims.
The gentleman that wrote our patents are very wise and skilled people and are in the business. They know how important patents are and I suspect that they went to great length to cover their bases.
Furthermore, as I have posted recently, since this time NeoMedia has applied for at least 50 more patents!
Moreover, it would be very easy for a judge to view MSFT and others efforts as a mere attempt to try to cirucumvent our patents and rule in our favor.
If that happens, then practically the whole pie is our and MSFT may be asking us to buy them out. LOL
A couple more things to keep in mind regarding QR codes:
1. I have created one from Microsoft website and it is huge--it will not even fit on the back of a business card! And I did not even include much data at all!
2. This is the same code used in Japan and the Chinese do not want anything that resembles Japan!
3. If this only works on Windows mobile phones then it is a very small part of the market and what a hastle it will be if the tech only works for some people.
Qode is faster, cheaper, simpler, better, more robust than any other tech, especially when we add voice, rfid, and pictures (moboit) to the mix!
Gavitec has been working with codes a long time and they can already read them and verify them--mobile ticketing, mobile commerce, etc. and they are a NeoMedia company!
FORT MYERS, Fla. & BEIJING, Oct 26, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- NeoMedia Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB: NEOM)
Highlights as I see them...
2 Million users is good!
offering members a "GBQ smart code" to encourage them to sign up as a
"VIP GBQ Code Holder," and using qode to invite VIP GBQ Code Holders to special free events, offering
discounts, etc. Revenue with Every Click is also good!
NeoMedia qode-based VIP GBQ program will be promoted throughout China on the
popular "Super Girl" talent search contest, and used to vote for the winner
among the 24 finalists, with each assigned a smart code--that is good too!
Starting to breach the China market is very good!
a leading internet marketing firm that does work for Cisco, Nokia, Motorola, HP, Lucent, and China Mobile is good!
It sounds like this company in China that NeoMedia is teaming with is progressive in their thinking and are committed to doing things "better, faster, and cheaper!"
They use the word "effectively" a lot (at least in the translation).
They are committed to helping advancing websites and helping companies market their businesses! They could be an excellent partner to have!
I did think about that but I still think that because the large portion of revenue gained from all their vast number of ad words related to search that it would be a major risk on their part....
This is very simplictic thinking but I still think NeoMedia succeeds and that is why we are all here...well almost all. :)
Responding to the primate:
This represents the gravy for NeoMedia, it does not relate to their core competancy and that is automatically linking to the internet and with a camera phone!
Once that is in place, then keywords will happen.
YJ is correct, better, faster, cheaper! and I would add "than Google!"
The flaw in PP theory is revenue for google. The premium price google would charge would have to be more than current search adds---which is far greater than what NeoMedia plans to charge! Thus, the "cheaper" part of the above quote.
And for google to compete with Qode on those prices would destroy their current revenue!
Please correct my thinking if I am off base here....Or feel free to agree and add to my reasoning!
Go NEOM!

Please be specific! And who did you "hear" this from? And what inside track do they have?
Comparing to Myspace is a huge strech!
Myspace is the #4 website in the world I believe.
The chinese counterpart as you have suggested is not even in the top 100 chinese sites.
Perhaps they will one day be similiar or even surpase MySpace, who knows! Lets hope they do and lets hope Qode help them make that happen!
In fact, lets hope that Qode and NeoMedia helps a ton of companies make that happen!
This is the power and potential of qode!
Bridge report also suggests that Shelron will rise from $.02 to $.25 over the next year....1200% + gain
Perhaps NeoMedia will help make that happen for them!
Although I have not read all the refeneces yet....
Bridge IR's report on Shelron uses "keyword" 11 times!
UK is mentioned about 20 X
This phrase is also used "redirects users to the advertiser’s website."
I suspect that this is related to qode! Although it is not specifically mentioned.
http://www.bridgeir.com/SHRN_Initiation_Report.pdf
Also, the review says this, "Overall internet advertising revenues in the U.S. grew by 30% in 2005 over
the prior year, reaching a new record of $12.5 billion."
That is a lot of advertising dollars!
Note: keywords and UK
ActiveShopper UK is already up and running, offering UK products, from UK merchants, where prices are in British Pounds. In
addition, the ActiveShopper sidebar is configured to use ActiveShopper UK content when it pops up in UK sites. There is the
technical capability to adding more languages and currencies to broaden the usage and audience of this product by making it
multi-currency and multi-lingual. This part of SHRN longer-term objectives. Presently, the focus is on building a stronger
position in its existing markets, and providing better service to English speaking users. It would be a waste of resources if
SHRN were to spread them out over new markets in other countries before the company has entirely realized the full potential
of its existing markets.
The ActiveShopper Mobile Edition is available to the public through cell phones and PDAs at mobile.ActiveShopper.com.
ActiveShopper Mobile Edition Version 1.0 includes a search field, allowing users to type in a keyword and get comparative
shopping information, from either ActiveShopper's US or UK comparative shopping databases. Product information was
condensed to fit the relatively small screen size that is available in most cell phones and PDAs, yet it still contains the product's
full name, the number of online merchants who sell it, and the lowest available online price. In addition, each product screen
contains the average online price and the highest price, so that a consumer who is currently in an offline retail facility would be
able to quickly and efficiently compare the price that he sees in the shop to various online offerings.
I have requested to speak to you--evidently you did not get the memo :) That is no reason to acuse one of lying!
As for what this has to do with NeoMedia, it has a lot to do with it. Your motivation and others influences how much weight one should attribute to your posts--which are almost always contrarian.
I do not see this as a violation and it is not simply me I am concerned with so placing you on ignore will not solve the problem for me. I am also concerned about your influence on fellow shareholders.
In closing, and I do mean closing, my post hardly warrants the label "attack" (you should not feel so threatened, I am a pretty nice guy, I think). Are you oppossed to having a phone conversation with a fellow shareholder?

I hate to say it but I think we are too late for Christmas 2006! :(
Very unfortunate!
Getting Qode to the masses will be easy! The only thing we need to do is get it to work on the majority of handsets!
Once it is on the handsets of the masses, brands will be begging us to let them reach the consumer!
Even the veterans on this board do not realize what we have on our hands!
Google who?
I say print as many shares as is needed and leverage them to get the best and the brightest to:
1. finish programing of Qode for the majority of handsets
2. build the necessary infastructure
3. get it launched to the world in a big big way
The revenue potential will far far exceed any dillution pains we may feel now!
Just talking to Dr. Mike and he reminded me of something important for all of us and that is all of a sudden apart from our knowledge they announced 4 companies that NeoMedia purchased!
A lot is no doubt going on behind the scenes and we will be shocked when it is announced!
As someone who is heavily involved in interpretation I think that it is an "editorial we" and is used generally.
Unless, of course MC is giving us a hint!
I would like it to mean otherwise but I do not believe it is...
Yellowjacket, in the next post, further expresses my sentiments.
