Longhorn 2006: Libertarians are disorganized in spite of the efforts of the very few.
Texas has, or maybe best said, had the strongest Libertarian State organization and it did not manage to get one Libertarian elected to any thing more than a few city council positions around the State.
The one guy that speared headed the Texas Libertarian Party's resurrection was Executive Dir Wes Benedict. Wes resigned in December of last year and since the money was not there worked for free his last month.
There is only "one" way the Libertarian Party could step up, and that is for conservatives to finally realize that the only party representing their conservative views is The Libertarian Party. Then to jump start the Libertarian Party, conservatives must begin in mass to fund the Libertarian Party and begin supporting and voting for Libertarian candidates.
LG
Longhorn 2006: The Grand Old Party is in a sad state...
Unfortunately the Libertarians are a disorganized group and incapable of filling the void.
LG
gtober: SEC is going to look into Steve Job's health, but no amount of evidence could get the SEC to seriously investigate Madoff.
Maybe the SEC would better serve "we the people" if its job was to critique the attire worn by many of our Nation's liberal elite, the "stars" on the red carpets of our entertainment industry’s various self indulgent back patting award shows.
LG
gtober: On the mark...

The Senate Confirmation hearing glanced over Geithner's claim of his inability to prepare his personal tax returns properly using software that I know would have prompted him to pay his SS taxes regardless of how many employers he had during the year.
Then the Senate Confirmation Committee begins a complicated business tax discussion with Geithner.
Is this the Twilight Zone?
LG
PS: If Geithner can't comprehend simple personal tax returns, how in the hell can "we the people" give him the power of Secretary of the Treasury.
Utilities showing the way...
ksquared: Times are so tough, we need this "tax cheat" confirmed.....NOT!
Will this nonsense ever end....sigh!
LG
gtober: While I hardly agree with Obama's politics, all Americans should be pleased by how far our country has come since the days of segregation. Obama is now our President. My prayer is that he will rise above the politics of his party by doing what is right and best for our country.
LG
gtober: The treasonous main stream media (MSM), will support Obama and spin all things bad on Bush and his administration. Obama and the Democratic Socialist Party will use the stimulus guise to fund all their socialist agendas.
As a greater and greater number of citizens are no longer required to pay income taxes and receive "entitlement" checks, it will be harder and harder for conservatives to overcome this ever growing voting block. (especially if the Dems grant amnesty to all the illegals.) As long as the Dems continue to confiscate money from the ever shrinking number of those that pay our country’s bills and give it to Dick, all the Dicks will vote for the Dems without considering the consequences to this country.
It will now take a monumental failure to force the Dicks of our country to realize that when a government confiscates wealth and spreads it around eventually that process becomes terminal and the wealth stops flowing. Once it stops, the Dicks may finally get it, "you don't eat the seed corn". At any rate, it may be too late for a once great nation.
A sad state of affairs...
LG
The largest most expensive inauguration in our nation's history is most likely a last hooray as the Democratic Socialist Party and the treasonous left wing prepare to thrust their muleta (sword) into the US...sigh!
LG
How about a Conservative boycott of NBC, CNBC and MSNBC. The last channel being nothing more than a forum for Bush haters and haters of all things conservative, staffed by all sorts of angry left wing vitriol bloviators.
I for one have removed these channels from all my television's list of available channels.
While I have little expectation that the silent majority would be motivated enough to accomplish even this couch potato protest, I still thought it worthy of suggestion...sigh!
LG
Newhampsha: Well Bush is moving to Preston Hollow, which is the priciest area in Dallas. One of his neighbors will be Perot.

In keeping with a long standing tradition, the next head of the SEC needs to be death dumb and blind.

PS: Over a decade ago when I started sharing my mantra on Silicon Investor with regards to Wall Street, I was periodically attacked for claiming that Wall Street was corrupt, usually by someone claiming to be part of Wall Street who knew better. extelcom: You had me going with rioting in the street 15 years ago, as I know the (ever shrinking) silent majority would not have gotten up off its TV couch potato ass.
The riots you allude to, I lived through. Of course, no one ever mentions that the riots while primed were lit by the then Mayor of LA via his TV announcement "we aren't going to take this", after the first verdict.
Of course being black, no one called Bradley on his worthless deed....sigh! Both Bradley and Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk were lured out of office by the prospects of becoming State Senators as neither city could withstand much more of their incompetence.
Very good misdirection...gg

liberal v. conservative giving
Liberals show tremendous compassion in pushing for generous government spending to help the neediest people at home and abroad. Yet when it comes to individual contributions to charitable causes, liberals are cheapskates.

Longhorn 2006: I will never be convinced by anyone that he didn't throw the race..

m_stone_14: Cali may be a window into what to expect the nation to be in a few years or sooner. Of course, the Fed could just increase their balance sheet to infinity to bail out every physically irresponsible person or entity in the country and then the only thing we will have to worry about is how big of a wheel barrel we will need to haul around enough dollars to buy a loaf of bread, if we can find a loaf of bread to buy...sigh!
LG
daytraderkidd: Like I said originally, this is a "Liberal Free Chat Zone" and once OneBgg or one of the moderators spots your posts you are toast.
If you want a more accurate picture of how far a republican is willing to go to support the country just take a look at its leaders including right wing hosts such as limbaugh, orielly, hanneity and even coulter. Compare them to people like Kerry, nothing more needs to be said.
That is typical left wing logic. Let's compare Kerry to McCain. Even Kerry's own, felt he needed to be "swift booted".
Now let's compare your list of right wing hosts...limbaugh, orielly, hanneity and even coulter to this group of left wing hosts...Al Franken (never served), Chris Mathews (never served), Keith Olbermann (never served) and then there is Rachel (butch) Maddow, I’ll take Coulter over her any day.
I'll concede the war is supported more by the right and given that the vast majority serving are conservatives, conservatives put their blood where their mouths are.
The right has not stepped up to the plate when it comes to putting ones money where there mouth is.
What are you talking about; the right pays the vast majority of this country's bills...
LG
daytraderkidd: "That paints a picture of a bunch of republicans who wont fight in a war they support..... yawn"
Given your claim of a split...that would make even a larger group of Dems that will not fight in a war they support or even more importantly given the numbers, any war...
I don't recall the military attempting to influence anyone politically.
LG

Check this out...
Military poll published 12/2007...
2) In politics today, do you consider yourself a:
Democrat 14.4%
Independent 21.1%
Libertarian 3.1%
Republican 48.9%
Other 4%
Decline to answer 8.5%
http://www.militarycity.com/polls/2007activepoll_politics.php
You say Dems don't follow rules and it appears they don't seem very interested in serving. Heck, given the amount of bitching done by the left regarding the war on terror one would have thought they made up the majority of the military...sigh!

Longhorn 2006: I think Obama and his team have decided to try to talk the market down in hopes the bottom will come before Obama is sworn in. Pretty despicable stuff.
What is amazing to me is that the Republicans are sitting on their thumbs silent as they get blamed for everything that has gone wrong.
While I do not particularly care for Ann Coulter, she does get down in the pigsty with the Left Wing lunes and hurl crap back at them...
LG
Obama news conferences...
Hasn't Obama had more news conferences "before" he is sworn in than most President's have during a four year term?
It seems to me Obama keeps talking the economy down in an effort to get it down as much as possible "before" he is sworn in, so he can blame it all on Bush and everything he (Obama) does afterwards.
Obama will be using the economic crisis as a guise to fund all his campaign promises. Obama will be doing wealth transfers in spades...

MTFA (Multiple Time Frame Analysis)
I am both humbled and amused at how the methodology I originated in the eighties and later introduced via the internet over ten years ago in 1998 on Silicon Investor and later on Investors Hub in 2002 has spread although in various adaptations, incarnations and mutations...gg
Those of you that have been following my work for many years have long seen references to my methodology as MTFA or Multiple Time Frame Analysis.
Of course to see how it has spread, all one needs to do is read just about any investment analysis board. Just a few years ago I Googled "Multiple Time Frame Analysis" and the only hits that came up were either message board posts by (yours truly) or pages from my prior website.
Now look...
