Oh, and have I flipped it! but I did miss orders getting filled last Wednesday, yesterday, and today. Gotta risk it to get the biscuit, baby! Although people have bashed you on here, I have to thank you for some of the insights you provided for me last summer - was still pretty green. We are all here to make money and I don't begrudge anyone who goes against the popular opinion; it's nice to consider all sides of the varying situations with this stock.
I just doubled down @ $3.38. For the last year (well I got in mid april), this has felt like an investment. For the last week, and especially my last buy, it has felt like a gamble. It just took everything in my power to go against my urge to sell and try to average down like I have the last few trading days. My one comfort is that nothing has changed - nothing. Many of you anticipated that the shakeout would be violent - I take some comfort in that - but watching my account balance drop is quite tough.
FWIW, he said 11am central time.
Thanks, I will most likely wait and see as well. GLTUA $FNMA$
hahaha, first thing I thought when I saw that I was the 187th person on the petition. I am a lover, not a killer. $FNMA$
Yeah, I set my limit at 5.50 (took my fluff out at 6.20), and it did not get filled on Scottrade. Needless to say, I was scrambling in between meetings to take out 67%(I'm a flip in thirds type of guy) - didn't make it out until high 4s. Got some 3.38s though - so I got that going for me... which is nice!
#187 - as in murder to all those who oppose our dear Fannie!
I sure hope so; going to snag more cheap fannies this morning no matter what. Still sore from not adding more after Obama speaking in late summer. That two hour lag before the drop totally threw me off, but has provided one hell of a buying opportunity.
I love how that last line suggests that all republicans and democrats are pushing for the wind down.
Churning until 1pm, then we see some big action either way. Anyone else concur?
Wow, never had a buy order filled that quickly! Daddy is here to catch you, baby girl - anytime you fall!
New 52 week high - nice job!!! My new favorite girl!!!
The building mythos surrounding Obi is hilarious and a testament to his/her contributions to this board. Special thanks to all who have changed my life. I have learned and made more in the last year than I ever imagined. I never thought business/finance was for me. Now I am reading and taking courses in both fields. Total game changer. Might have to shout out FNMA on my tombstone, lol.
Yup, just add it on to the current pile that keeps tipping the scale in our favor.
Damn, beat me to it! I wanted to contribute for once, lol.
I think the action at the end of Friday indicates that many people will be happy to jump in under $4.60. I have a bunch of dry powder ready. Averaging down on Friday was a gift, but I am not willing to flip anymore, only add. You gotta risk it to get the biscuit! For the sake of conversation, let's say Ukraine turns into a full scale conflict, with world police ('merica) involvement: how does that affect FNMA?
Thoughts on a retest of $4.40 range today? Mad I didn't put in a DLO.
Hahahaha, so "greed is good"?
How do you quell the desire to put the money back in when you see the price rising? I took profit for the first time today, and all I can think about is putting it back in (kept my core, of course). I expect a pullback, but is it guaranteed? Such is the constant battle between greed and fear.
Hey I don't have private posting ability, but I hope some of the other posts added some clarity about the situation.
Does anyone know when the 10-15x multiple statement was made by Ackman? I want to add it to my timeline of events. $FNMA$
Hopping in and out of this is like playing double dutch - gotta have expert timing! Thanks to those providing useful input. I sometimes find it faster to check on here than log into my account. $FNMA$
Break loose in a good way or bad way?
Wow, walked away for an hour. Good thing I came back with Marshmallows - shorts are surely a blazin'! Never a dull moment with this ticker.
Wow, throwback! I was a big Ricky the Dragon Steamboat fan. Spittin' hot fire - like FNMA will eventually! Whooooooooooo!
I like how you are throwing in the rick flair "whoooo" to add authenticity to your username. You go boy.
I gotcha. I guess I get in that flip mode where, if I miss an opportunity, I see it as a loss for the day. I liked being able to add more at the lower, but this is the emotional side I am trying to learn to quiet. Thanks for the input.
I too am curious what others have to say about today's action. Logged on at 9:35, thought this was good to go, put in order at 3.40, just logged back in and loaded at 3.04. Didn't expect such a big pullback but, trying to stay indifferent to the missed opportunity to flip today.
I made my plan this morning and this definitely went beyond what I expected for today, I'll admit that. But now I just need to chill and wait for a point to reenter. I would be dumb to panic buy. Biggest mistake is that I sold some of my core - mad that I broke my own rules. But this is amazing! Sort of ironic that I will be using my profits here to buy my first house.
Damn, I hopped off at 2.96. Thoughts on pullback today? Trying to decide whether to reenter but feel like I will just be chasing now.
Ha, some of the people are this board are celebrities to me! Finding the board changed my mind about investing in general, taught me valuable lessons, and pointed me in the right direction for more education. I feel I owe thousands to some of contributors here, and would love to thank them in person. I may not have 20k in shares, but I have no problem crashing a good party! GO $FNMA
Well, I hope those 1.90s weren't for real and that they didn't trigger the "circuit breakers" that are in place to be used in the event of drastic action. Let me throw this out there: worse case scenario, if the 1.90s were legit, how bad would the fallout be?
interesting day for this to happen...

The high school in my town was forced to take the christmas tree out of the lobby; students were encouraged to only say happy holidays so...
Wow, somebody turned down the volume; can you guys hear WATTs going on?
Absolutely brother! I too try to work my movement in and by 30% or I will flip it and keep 30% in as core and flip 70% in and out, like today.
For sure, I have margin with scottrade, and I used one flip today. Not so sure I want to use more because it seems like this week will have a lot of opportunity. I hate using up the three and waiting the 5 days, watching good action pass me by. I try to stick to the buy day 1, then sell and rebuy day 2.
At the same time there are solid posters on here who deliver consistently good DD, or who are nice enough to use their subscription to news sites and cut and paste articles that many others may not have access to. I agree with the follow no one policy, but I also think this is a great resource for an aggregate of information on this ticker. Gauging sentiment is great here as well. Finding people you trust to bounce ideas and analysis off of is worth a lot; I am thankful for those who are willing to help, to listen, and offer opinions.
Man I wish I had the 25k to do that! Today is a good day to get the rocks off, lol!
