Just heard on the radio, NYC lawyers for the Toys-R-Us BK are being paid $1,700.00/hr. Not much incentive to close out Lehman BK at those rates.
Anybody have an inkling of what % of the CT’s are owned by the banks? They clearly seemed to have stepped up to protect their position in the last quarter.
For grins I attempted to buy some NQ’s in my Fidelity account. Fidelity wouldn’t take the trade. About a year ago stopped allowing the trades to go through. Their fixed income desk stopped it. I thought with this possible new category they would open it up, nope. I can still trade LEH’s in my TD account.
Thank you all for the info.
Yes, bought in after a SA article early January. Glad I did today.
And the Tide did roll, congrats Jimmy
Yes that sounds like it. I use both TD and Fidelity. Right now Fidelity will not allow you to trade CT’s but I already have half my position in CT’s at Fidelity. I went in and they assured me I could gift them to her account and they did when I brought in my letter. I wanted to do it before the end of 2017.
I replaced them with what I bought already in my TD account.
Seems screwy to me Fidelity will not allow me to trade CT’s. Their fixed income group has them on company wide hold, Ive researched this with them numerous times in the last 6 months.
Cheers to you and all the other wonderful contributors.
I’ll be wherever and bring some exquisite Oregon Pinot with me.
What will that give u? I’ve acquired 200K and gifted another 20K to my 30 yr old daughter living in SF. I’d like to get double that for her so she could use it to buy a house. I’d love to see her face when it pops. I manage a small amount of funds for her.
Thx Cotton
I did the same here in Portland. Tonka toys were requested on my tag. Great idea to do them all.
Sorry for question marks, those were emojis that didn’t print. Enjoy the time off hopefully with family. Cheers
Happy Thanksgiving all?????? ??. Thank you for your researched insight
I can buy, or presumably sell the CT’s with my TD account. My Fidelity account will not let me buy additional shares of CT’s for nearly a year. No amount of discussions with the fixed income desk will change there decision.
I have a couple GTC orders of CT’s with TD and it’s amusing how the MM stays just out of their range by .001, .0005 or so. I’m happy with my current position so it’s really just icing. Someone cares about these shares, we just don’t know The who, why and when yet.
Thank you cotton.
Thank you and Judge Steele for his response. It’s pretty darn sad this justice system appears to be so manipulated. It seems the average citizen should have access to a speedier trial of their grievances. Not to predetermine the judgement, just the forum to air our grievance.
My uncle passed away two years ago and was on the Maryland at Pearl. The Maryland was inshore tied to the Arizona. He was from Milbank, South Dakota. He was shocked for the rest of his life. He served out the war and never went back to Hawaii.
Going to Napa this weekend to watch the TV Washington/Oregon football game with my 93 year old dad. 30 missions over Germany, B-24 pilot. He’s a fun guy, I’m lucky to still have him. He’s a Husky and I’m a Duck. Cheers
Pretty sure he's publicly canceled the non appropriated payments to insurance ACA providers, read NWS.
Fidelity has not allowed trading in these for about a year. They told me that the CT's did not have readily available security information. The Fidelity fixed income security group closed them for trading.
I have quite a bit in two Fidelity accounts, haven't tried to sell of course. TD still allows trading I believe. I mentioned TD accessibility to Fidelity and still got nowhere with their decision.
TG3 seems pricey at this level. I do expect good earnings this past qtr but they'll need to reserve something for all the natural disasters lately in the country.
Thanks WB. I hope you incarcerate him in Tenn.
Thank you Wayne. I've been investing for decades, but way behind you all in recovery/bk investing. I did very well with mtg and followed some of you to fnma and on to here. Finance BS and CFP but still this is mostly new to me.
Yes, LD is really impressive both that he makes public calls and that he's often right. 11/2 years ago he dropped out of the market in the spring and bam, correct call. That got my attention, plus I like the irreverent wording.
To your question about short term plays that you asked on a fnma board. With the caveat that when I pass along tips do your own dd.
Pernix, symbol PTX, it's a bio, positive revenue, positive ebit, expecting a breakup of the company as a result of their annual meeting in Nov. real good CEO that has lots of turnaround and sell off experience. Older guy 70+ so this isn't his first rodeo. I hope to see a pretty good value expansion by the end of the year.
Thank you and all the others here.
I plan to play a round of golf with the Mrs. and friends, watch some college football and have few glasses of great wine. Cheers and happy weekend to all.
Thank you! I'll start looking it over. I was aware of Quantum, but couldn't find shares that I didn't have the symbol for. I appreciate your assistance.
Wayne, I followed many of you here from the Fnma board. Where do you turn to research what preferred stocks are available from any one company? Is there a website one can input the common stock symbol and query what preferred's have been issued?
I'm a bit surprised but I can't imagine J Paulson, Berkowitz and other supporters of this admin and how they feel. Include in that group the Chairman of Sears that both Mnuchin and Berkowitz served on his board. They must all be ??&?? or maybe they know something ??.
Have a good weekend all, thank you for your contributions.
Cheers
Actually nothing. Very doubtful that big project software will be ready anytime soon. I've followed it and I don't think we will see anything meaningful out of this project until next decade. We'll see.
Thank you all for your research and analysis. I'd happily bring some delightful Oregon Pinot Noir to any NOL party.
Come on Sweeney and Judge Sleet light a fire under Mnuch's feet. It's time!
Thank you Stoxjock.it looks very tough for a lot of people down there.
Thank you we all appreciate it.
Pappy is Lehman, correct? Wamu is from my neck of the woods, Wash Mutual. Quite the eclipse here, dogs howling, day into twilight.
He's paid by someone to be here. Been a few other names along the way ( pun intended). Take him for what it's worth, comic relief. Cheers to all. My what we've endured and it continues. Thanks to some of your posts over the years I've never sold in disgust or despair. The great news is the rhetoric has changed dramatically since the past few years. Go truth, come on FNMA/FMCC.
Sounds very promising. Going to celebrate with an early 18 holes in the am.
Thank you. Long and strong after all these years. I appreciate your sharing the reply.
200k, thx to a comment on other boards I found you all. Easy decision as the rate $/share so low. I'm trying to c were I can add value to your discussion, currently you all are way ahead of me. I have read through years of posts. Thx to all for your info. Cheers
Based on these numbers the stock S trading at 1 times forward ebitda for fy17. Seems pretty undervalue with refinancing completed. I have to wonder when it will begin to have an industry average valuation.
TG3, mtg seems to be holding strong. I expect a quarterly earnings beat based on estimized projections. No summer weakness like last year yet.
Yes it is. I live in pdx and have a home near Bend, both are superb markets
Fidelity will not let clients trade in these now. TdAmeritrade still allows. I am wondering the same thing, why no trading now. No one is running for the exit and no one buying in. I guess the stakeholders have their positions and are letting the bet ride.
Yep, I think you are correct. Not a political statement, but drain the swamp. There's enough pooh on both sides of the isle on the gse,s.
Seems like after the RDN release the pmi'ers will not being growing their stock price for awhile. Summer doldrums are coming. Last year mtg went to $6 ish. This year I forecast into the 8's or low 9's if the market softens.
