The cnbc panel is clueless!!! They don't know Fannie and Freddie's current situation, so don't comment!!
cbnc panel sucks right now
NYSE looks at bid price for uplisting, because closing price can be manipulated :)
Bid most important for uplisting
Then smile!!
Only smiley faces today! No frowns, were you out of the stock overnight?
Woo hoo! Cnbc scrambling to get more on this. Ackman basically says it's a must buy. They say, where is Bove? Ha ha
They'll be back with more. :)
Whoever out there is sweet talking Icahn, thank you! Just joking!
A big reason is that many of them flat out won't invest in a company under conservatorship by the government. The other factors are that it is still on the OTC, trading under $5, 100% net profit sweep by the government. They have to be accountable for all of this to the shareholders.
Yes, which is the environment that "conservatorship" can create. Especially, when it is carried on years beyond what is deemed necessary, even by the average outside observer. End "conservatorship" today or we'll be marching on the steps of the FHFA.
Does it seem good that Layton is speaking out, even though they are required to report to fhfa?
If it doesn't happen soon, we're going to have to get out and march on the steps of the FHFA. This cannot be allowed to go on in the USA.
Keep it in a retirement account. When it pops, just take some out for the shopping trip. Easier to tell the wife, ah that's retirement money. Cash is too tempting! Especially when they can smell it :)
They need to be released from conservatorship today!
Did Watt ever give a response to the stress tests?
end to sweep
Maybe, it is safer for Munger to give updates right now about Fannie and Freddie. His statement was a little more detailed, clarifying than Buffet's words.
Fuzzy Math, push for uplisting. Below is email for the Board in case you would like to tell them that you hope that they are at least preparing for uplisting.

I thought this was interesting. Has anyone seen if there is a similar report on Fannie Mae's website?
These authors should not write these articles, cover these subjects if they are not educated enough on the topic to include necessary, relevant information. They should have mentioned the effects of the profit sweep in this article, otherwise, it is obviously slanted towards their agenda.
$5.55 on 5/5 by end of day, wishful thinking!
I stand corrected. :)
Unfortunately, the government does not work that way, thus six years of conservatorship of billion dollar companies in the USA.
Yes, there is definitely kicking ass going on!
Yes there will be cake. Marinating cases, ha ha! They are so good as is, I can't imagine after they have marinated for a while!
Thank you! I'm guessing that if there is no update, things are progressing just fine for Fairholme. It might be annoying for some that want immediate information, but it's probably OK in the long run. IMO
Yes, but if you're the one declaring unlimited funds, are you going to follow up and feel responsible at all for what happens after that?
Hey Obit! Do you think there will be an update on Fairholme case on the 7th?
If they had a proper exit strategy, it would have sounded like they were trying to help everyone at once. Without a properly stated exit strategy, it sounds like they were more worried about helping themselves and their buddies, no need to acknowledge anyone after that. Even at this time it does not seem like the master crafters of the conservatorship are worried about anything else, except that the banks that got bailed out. Do they feel any more responsibility leaving something half done?
Who declared after hours December 24, 2009 to open up the top for unlimited backing for GSE's?

What was Paulson's exit strategy? (FnF leaving conservatorship)
Agreed, I hope you do personally get made whole and much more. Lifting the mark to market was one of the few things that made sense at that time. When studying any company for investment the CFO, Treasurer are critical, and thus they can be extremely powerful. Will they make the key moral, educated, responsible decisions at the right time?
Who do you think masterminded this great idea of conservatorship to take care of all the mistakes? We know the FHFA agency was created and the director declared conservatorship in September 2008. Who really was behind the whole grand plan, and what was their exit strategy?
I remember in the beginning right at that time, everybody was throwing out their ideas, Dave Ramsey kept saying, lift the mark to market. That could solve a lot.
$5.55 on 5/5. Push it!!
Remember? Here was mb's post when it hit 5.55 in March. It can happen!!
MM DLNY was absorbing shares @ $5.55 from both ARCA and NITE on the ask, and won! I've been noticing DLNY on the bid over the past few days. Lots of buying there.

Did you ever work for or with Fannie or Freddie at that time?
Agreed, so release from conservatorship, Mel Watt. Could you send that to him please?

Is this type of governance required after the taxpayers have been paid back in full?
