PS They must be giving the Cracker Jack Mining Awards to anyone who has a pulse in Canada? Have they not noticed how the share price of GBG = GBGLF have plummeted from $3 to .007 pps in Canada in the last few years?
They want us to dump our shares for under a penny!
Remember we are going to zer0 or Heros!
Waterton will control all PR regarding our Nevada assets and the Chinese or a highly unlikely Joint Venture now controls our PR from South AFrica ; GBG is starting to lose control.
I still think GBGLF shareholders are looking at .11 pps by December, 2013 with the varied acquisitions or better yet JVz!

"Burnstone Trust
In addition to the above broad base of shareholders, it is considered important that support should be provided to appropriate empowerment projects and sustainable entrepreneurial, business initiatives from the communities surrounding and impacted by the Burnstone Project. A considerable amount of groundwork was done in identifying possible beneficiaries. The objective was to identify sustainable organisations, with proven delivery capabilities and requisite internal governance structures. Those locally based organisations around the Burnstone Project area considered appropriate include:
Depaliseng Youth Group – an organisation promoting business entrepreneurship.
Mpumelelo Community Theatre – with a current membership of some 130 individuals focusing on traditional and gumboot dancing, drum majorettes, jazz and drama.
Sizanani Communal Properties – a community farming project benefiting over 200 participants in the Balfour area.
Siyathemba Male Voice – a local musical group.
Bareng Batho Disabled – an organisation located in Balfour formed in 1998 which provides care for the disabled.
Tshepehang Disabled and Kagiso Disabled Groups – located in Grootvlei and Ntorwane (Greylingstad) respectively, also providing ongoing care and support for the disabled.
Lindokuhle Poultry Project – a local community farming project sponsored currently by NDA
Bambanani – a community sewing project including initial sewing training, as well as marketing and financial management. Projects include local school uniforms, uniforms for Eskom, car seat covers and table cloths.
Vezukhono – a recently formed wood and steel project, producing window frames, gates, burglar doors, etc.
Khutlurano Home Base Care – supporting HIV/Aids, TB and other terminally ill patients, as well as vulnerable children in families affected by Aids. The organisation currently cares for some 153 orphans and many other patients providing food parcels, supporting school fees, providing uniforms, etc.
Topsy Foundation – a home for aids orphans.
Although there are numerous highly worthy organisations and projects around the Burnstone Project area, they are generally established with a focus of providing aid and support and not as investment vehicles. In addition, prior experience indicates that over a period of time, organisations such as these may not be sustainable and may also change their nature (e.g. youth groups may not remain as such). As a result, it was agreed that the introduction of broad-based beneficiaries focussing on the communities surrounding and impacted by the Burnstone Project be structured through a trust, The Burnstone Trust, which will be established as a Public Benefit Organisation. The use of a trust will provide greater flexibility to determine who the most appropriate beneficiaries are from time to time as they evolve and change and as new projects become available. The Trust Deed will have a very clear mandate and set of guidelines."

"Tranter Gold
Tranter developed a new broad-based economic empowerment group, Tranter Gold (Pty) Limited ("Tranter Gold") which was the vehicle used to invest in Great Basin Gold Limited ("GBG"). Tranter obtained a controlling interest in the consortium and was instrumental in the selection of the other broad-based economic empowerment parties involved in the consortium. Tranter is a firm believer in involving new entrants in each of its investments that encompass the spirit of diversity and the broad-based principles envisaged by the broad-based black socio-economic empowerment ('BBBSEE') Codes in South Africa. In selecting participants for the consortium, Tranter considered the skills contribution of each of the participants as well as the operational relevance to GBG.
In August 2007, Tranter Gold, through financial support from Goldfields and a loan from Investec, concluded an empowerment transaction in which it acquired 19.9 million new GBG shares equating, as at September 2007, to about 13% interest in GBG or 26% see-through interest in the South African Burnstone project, and thereby making Tranter Gold a majority single shareholder in the company. GBG owns the Burnstone Gold Project located near the town of Balfour in the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa as well as the Hollister project in the USA and has further interests in Mozambique and Tanzania. Investec has a 10% interest in Tranter Gold. The objective is to grow Tranter Gold into an operational gold mining company capable of an independent listing on a stock market..."

GREAT BASIN GOLD LIMITED
Great Basin Gold holds mining assets in the Witwatersrand Basin of South Africa and the Carlin Trend of Nevada, USA.
Acquired in 2002, the Burnstone gold project in South Africa has successfully advanced from exploration through detailed engineering, feasibility and permitting, with a forecast annual production of 254,000 oz of gold over a 25-year mine life. The Hollister Property had been a past-producer of gold from a small, near-surface oxide deposit. HDI’s team postulated that a deeper and higher grade vein system was present and following 60,000 metres of drilling, a one million ounce high-grade gold resource was delineated. Hollister is undergoing trial mining and permitting and, at commercial production, is forecast to produce an average of 110,000 gold equivalent ounces annually over an eight-year mine life.

Great Basin Preservation Pale Ale
"Saving Nevada’s spaces one beer at a time! Brewed for the Nevada Land Conservancy in conjunction with the Banff Film Festival using locally sourced malt and hops. The bulk of the barley for the malt came from Fallon and was malted in Reno by our local maltster, Lance Jorgensen of Rebel Malting. The hops were sourced from Banner Springs Ranch, located at 7500 feet on the Eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada. This beer was made as a tribute to sustainability in the Great Basin. (A.B.V., 5.9%)

"March 14, 2012, Vancouver, BC – Great Basin Gold Ltd. (“Great Basin Gold” or the “Company”), (TSX: GBG; NYSE Amex: GBG; JSE: GBG) in order provide additional clarification with regards to its Black Economic Empowerment partner, Tranter Burnstone (Pty) Ltd. (“Tranter”), which is owned by historically disadvantaged South Africans (“HDSA”), has been notified that Tranter is currently in default of the requirements of their loan agreement with Investec Bank Ltd (“Investec”) under which it borrowed ZAR 200 million ($27 million) to partly fund the purchase of 19,938,650 treasury common shares in Great Basin Gold in 2007.
The default is due to an approximate ZAR 45 million ($6 million) unfunded cash margin call as a consequence of the decline in the value of the Great Basin Gold shares serving as collateral for the loan. Of the Company’s existing guarantee of R140 million ($19 million), ZAR 14 million ($1.82 million) remains available to meet the unfunded cash margin.
Great Bain Gold is seeking, through ongoing discussions with Investec and Tranter, to assist Tranter to remedy their default position and meet their future loan obligations. Whilst the outcome of the discussions is uncertain, the Company does not expect the outcome of these discussions to affect its current compliance with the Mining Charter or near term cash flow." www.greatbasingold.com/pr_v.cfm?PRID=12
Tranter's GBGLF shares are only worth 19,938,650 treasury common shares * .07 pps = $ 139000 Joseph Ngoma has been a Director of Great Basin Gold Limited since July 2009 and Mr. Ngoma, is a founding member and current Chief Executive Officer of Tranter Holdings (Pty) Ltd. He must be most upset with the lack of performance at the Burnstone Mine and Great Basin Gold in general?
Sincerely,
Golden~Polar~Bear
PS I hope Tranter recovers most of their fund$ that they have invested into GBG?

Personally, I am still hoping for a joint venture with Great Basin Gold/Waterton Global Resources/Barrick regarding the Hollister mine and the longer it takes for a press release regarding the Burnstone Mine & Southgold; I am thinking the Chinese may have acquired our 24 million Au Oz GBG mine in South Africa. I sent a polite email recently to Waterton to no avail and no response, so I think GBG and Waterton are still hammering out the fine points of their deal/JV?
This is all going to take time; unless we are talking about acquisitions with very few strings attached (highly unlikely IMHO)

Why Would Patrick Cooke Not Mention GBG On His Updated Anooraq Resources Corporation BIO?
Many of these companies - including Taseko Mines Limited, Northern Dynasty Minerals Ltd., and Amarc Resources Ltd. - are still associated with HDI today. A Burnstone Corporate Team has not yet been hired; I think we may be looking at a straight acquisition of the Burnstone Mine? Or a very large and powerful JV that can afford to waste time and money prior to the rerampup of Burnstone? Possibly, the Chinese have put forth a bid that could not be refused in the present economic climate? If a lot of money was involved in the Burnstone acquisition why did we simply dispose of the Hollister Mine? I am still hoping for a JV with GBG Waterton/Barrick?

Hi Nagoya & TexasRambler,
I am doing my best to investigate who is leaving GBG and moving on within the last two months and I am finding it very difficult to muster up any obvious information. This is good news for all GBGLF shareholders.
If the employees are not jumping ship as seems to be the case. They will be pleased to be working with Waterton/Barrick at Hollister or we have a joint venture with Waterton.

Market TARGET Price 1.20 - 2014
Thank you Raymond James
LJ, I concur with your thoughts!
If Ron Thiessen sold our Hollister Mine with no jv to Waterton Global Resources for a measely 15 million; he and our GBG Directors have a lot to learn about the art of the deal and a proper business rescue.
Again, why has our amazing Nevada Team not been removed from the GBG website if there is no JV Waterton?
Cheers,
GPB
Waterton Global Resources is known for acquiring assets in politcically stable regions. I am not sure that Waterton/Barrick Gold would be interested in Burnstone Mine for obvious reasons.
African Barrick Gold might be more interested in a possible JV with Southgold and the GBG Burnstone mine?
ABG, Waterton and Barrick Gold work mainly at arms length so...
Cheers,
Golden~Polar~Bear
PS I still think we have a Waterton/Barrick Gold/Great Basin Gold as a long shot Joint Venture, possiblity, at Hollister Mine and fortunately the longer, they leave our GBG Nevada Teams names posted on the GBG website (particularly, Carrie Stringham who is our Human Resources Manager of Nevada Operations for Great Basin Gold); I think increases our odds of this joyous Waterton/GBG JOINT VENTURE coming to fruition.
Brad Humphrey of Raymond James
rarely makes these type of errors so...?
GBGLF Market Perform Target: US$1.20 - 2014
Andrew Johns & Raymond James have just posted on their website that they think Great Basin Gold now has a Market Perform Target of $1.20!
www.andrewjohns.ca/market-info/equity-research/great-basin-gold-raymond-james-research
Raymond James Headquarters is located quite close to our Great Basin Gold Head Office in Vancouver. Hmmm?
CNN Money has the GBGLF Market Perform Target at .30 pps this year?
The question is zeroez of HERO$$$ ? At least, we will know soon...
Doing business in SA will only work with support from the South African government so... and we need a Great Basin Gold ~ Tranter Update asap and what percentage of GBGLF shares do they own right now; was there goal not --% ?
Cheers,
Golden~Polar~Bear
PS We need that gold price to rise asap above $1550 USD and we are at $1475 USD! Not bad!
I will be over the moon if the GBGLF pps is at .11 this December and not zero and if we see a one or two cent dividend in 2014; I will be doing my very happy infamous Golden~Polar~Bear dance!
I am hoping, we have collaborative hard-working miners and administrators working in Balfour, Nevada, Tanzania and Mozambique in 2014 and several profitable JVs!
A real triumph would be to see GBG shares at least trading on the JSE, TSX or even better yet the NYSE! I know dreaming...

"Waterton Adds To List Of Private Equity Deals In Mining"
JACQUELINE NELSON Wrote:
"Private equity firms are increasingly pursuing assets in the mining sector, as higher costs and industry volatility have made assets available at cheaper prices. In some cases, these private equity firms are edging out major mining groups in their acquisitions.
Waterton Global Resource Management Inc.’s purchase of Nevada’s Hollister gold mine and Esmeralda Mill announced Tuesday offers access to a high-grade mine being sold in bankruptcy restructuring. Waterton beat out several traditional mining companies, including runner-up Hecla Mining Co., the largest primary silver producer in the United States." Quoted for the Globe & Mail
I am thinking; no praying GBG may have a JV with Waterton Global Resources ? Business people are refering to this as an equity deal and not an acquisition??? Waterton Global Resources/Barrick is an equity financing firm and not a mining firm so... unless they have purchased our Nevada assets & Hollister Mine for Barrick Gold?
Why? Well, this is a long shot but I see no mining jobs being advertized for the Hollister Mine this week? I cannot envisage all of the GBG miners wishing to stay with a new employer unless they have been told not to worry and it will be business as usual so...Ron Thiessen would still be in a bit of drivers seat.
A Waterton/Barrick Gold JV would please the creditors etc.
Stranger things have happened and the $15 million price tag is far too low unless this was a JV and Waterton Global Resources/Barrick Gold will be absorbing many of our outstanding debts for ONLY a year or two.
If this is the case, the miners are really going to need to produce and the price of gold will need to rise above $1550 USD for us to have a viable golden business oportunity IMHO!
Cheers,

PS I think it will take GBG until at least July if GBG Team is going to properly get Burnstone Mine ramped up, ,with 1000+ miners etc. and a solid backer with incredibly deep pockets??? Praying also for a Southgold-Burnstone Mine JV with ... ?
This Company Cannot Fold!
Why?
They will lose all of their land and mining claims to the South African government. Ron Thiessen will not allow this to happen nor will our lackadaisical Board of GBG Directors; it will probably be sold. It needs to be sold for over $400 million before GBGLF shareholders will see a nickle price per share so...
There have been minimal advertisements within Balfour for miners etc. so I think the goal is to sell Burnstone. I was hoping for a JV but without 1000 miners that want to work for GBG; there is not a hope in ...
GBGLF Market Perform Target: US$1.20 - 2014
Andrew Johns & Raymond James have just posted on their website that they think Great Basin Gold now has a Market Perform Target of $1.20!
www.andrewjohns.ca/market-info/equity-research/great-basin-gold-raymond-james-research
Raymond James Headquarters is located quite close to our Great Basin Gold Head Office in Vancouver. Hmmm?
CNN Money has the GBGLF Market Perform Target at .30 pps this year?
Bear, GBG is an incredible long shot and extremely risky but in my opinion, no pain + ro risk = no gain for shareholders. I think we have all had enough financial pain; it is time for a little gain in June...
I am still praying for some type of a JV with Waterton Global Resources. If GBG loses all claims to their Nevada assets; we will all feel the pain as Hollister proves to be a very profitable mine indeed.
The question is zeroez of HERO$$$ ? At least, we will know soon...
Doing business in SA will only work with support from the South African government so...

PS I hope the Waterton Global Resources Team, our GBG Directors and the JUDGE do not assign extremely low values for the royalties in court and that Ron Thiessen will be able to settle much of the varied debts owed like the CCAA DIP loan etc.

"South Africa’s first new gold mine in three decades was officially opened in February 2011 near Balfour. This was Great Basin Gold’s R2.6- billion Burnstone project. The company projects that it will produce 254 000 ounces of gold per year for 25 years from a 20-million-ounce resource."

We are definitely down but not out yet. Is this just outdated information; if so why are they still mentioning GBG on their website? This type of possible misinformation is extremely concerning and ...
I am still praying that Waterton needs to at least slightly sweeten the acquistion deal of all of our Nevada Gold Assets etc. Seriously, paying $15 million for a mine that should be able to easily gross well over $100 million annualy is beyond a joke.
I am praying for a GBG 40% / 60% jv with Waterton? Or will all of our Nevada resources simply be provided to Barrick Gold to properly profit from. Might Waterton Global Resources keep Ron Thiessen on the payroll as a Director??? LOL!
Cheers,

PS Unless we get a little positive GBG news soon...
"Great Basin Gold, a junior producer with mines in South Africa and Nevada, ran into financial difficulties and is looking for buyers for its newly built Burnstone mine in Mpumalanga.
Wits Gold has indicated it is interested in buying the mine.
For South African producers, the rand-dollar exchange rate is a major factor that determines what they achieve for their gold sales.
"For all juniors, this gold price is a knock. We all have fairly high costs of production. The current rand gold price doesn’t give you much wriggle room at all," Mr du Toit said."

IMHO, no news, is not always good news!

PS I still cannot believe we gave the Hollister mine to Waterton Global Resources for $15 million when Hollister should be able to produce an annual gross profit of 80 000 Au Oz * $1400 = $112 million USD
"Hollister Mine Rodeo Creek Gold Open Pit - U/G M/I/I 2.5M oz. @+1 oz/t Au, large Ag resource" Quoted from on April 17th http://www.rimrockgold.com/wp-content/uploads/RMRKpowerpoint-2013.pdf on page 10
How can Waterton Global Resources be paying net $90 million in royalties if Hollister mine has only a three year mine life?
We got seriously burned with this demeaning Waterton/Barrick Gold Hollister Mine deal! Thank you Great Basin Gold and our Director Ron Thiessen! Fortunately, we are not bitter but we are almost all broke!
Cheers,
Golden~Polar~Bear
PS I thought we only had one million gold oz and not 2.5 million gold oz? Hmmm?
Our Hollister Deal Is An Absolute Disaster!
We have effortlessly provided Waterton/Barrick Gold with our incredible Nevada Gold & Silver assets and a real gem our Hollister Mine for next to nothing! ($15 million & $90 million net profit royalties possibly over 9 years)
I am still looking for a miracle and I think it will take two weeks for all the dust to settle to get a real clear picture of exactly what has transpired during the auction etc.
IMHO, this is not looking good and if GBG could not find an appropriate deal for Hollister; unfortunately, I think the auction of our Burnstone Mine etc may go a very similar route?
Cheers,
Golden Polar Bear
PS We need a LARGE miracle asap and sorry for repeating this info but... I think we all need to be reminded that ...we were and have been royally .......!

PS We need a small miracle asap!
Our Waterton/Barrick Gold agreement will make offers of employment to and continue to employ a number of employees of the Debtors like possibly our Director Ron Thiessen (GBG)?
A 1% chance at a JV? Extremely, highly unlikely but until we get a proper PR release; I am allowed to dream.
If I was a member of the GBG Nevada Team I would want my name removed from the GBG website unless I was somewhat aware of a JV in the works.
I still think this deal stinks and giving our Nevada assets away for a measely $15 million and $90 million net royalties over nine years to pay off creditors etc is beyond a joke.
Cheers,
GPB
PS I am surprised we have not been dragged through Chapter 7; maybe that is next month's tragic GBG saga?
