More Reasons...
a) Ethanol is the cheapest octane molecule on the face of the earth.
b) We currently have much more row crop capacity( and carryover) than ever
contemplated by farmers or refiners
c) Won't be long until ISIS turns its malevolence to the oil rigs of others
instead of defenseless civilian targets
d) China is really in a hard place environmentally and is quickly becoming a big ethanol customer.
e) Most ethanol stocks are desperately oversold( no manipulation here)
All IMHO.
Here are some reasons...
1) Foreign imports are increasing
2) Total political disruption in foreign oil producing regions
3) Saudis can't inject water forever...have already hinted as much.
4) A bottom is in
5) Increased RFS levels a virtual certainty
6) Insider buying continues
7) Oil prices are more likely to increase than otherwise
8) Logical maxim...What has happened before(>$3 to >$23) is more likely to happen again than that which has never happened before.
9) The Saudis have truly injured North American oil production capacity( and no one has uttered even a whimper, by the way)
More to come...
All IMHO

There are good reasons to believe the time is...now... for PEIX
Does anyone realize how much of an abundance of corn and other starches
we are producing in at this time ? There is no realistic way to use it, process it or store it that makes sense...Ethanol brewing is one option... I guess animal feeding is another, but to its limits.
The world is going to benefit if it's smart enough to stop the killing.

Slow uptake on RFS announcement is pretty incredible.
The market is slow on its feet for some reason. Too interested in wild rumors to pay attention to real events.
Go figure.
This is truly pretty incredible. This stock is showing a lot of class right now. I have personally visited some of the Aventine assets and think PEIX management has made an historic decision in favor of its stockholders, IMO.
GLTA
Is the Aventine strategy simply a classic poison pill ? Today's drastic sp drop would suggest there's predatory intent somewhere.
That "irrational exuberance" label that was laid at the feet of longs some years ago, is an especially appropriate advice/description for the SHORTS today.
GLTA
More lack of transparency ?
Are you seriously blaming the stock for this chaos ?
Value,
I think we'd all better take a global view on that harvest projection. We've had drought and floods throughout the agrarian world. Of course our harvest is king, but it truly is a global complex.
Fill 'er Up !
Are my fellow the Board posters so affluent that they forget the days of buying $5 or $10 worth of gas at a time? Back then, "Filling Up" was an unimaginable luxury for most of us .
Maybe lower gas prices will make a difference. Just consider the impact of 5 more gallons in each new gas purchase.
We always model what we're used to under the status quo. The status quo has just been turned upside down.
I like the term "OPEC ATTACK" used somewhere on this board today. It may be a killer blow aimed at Russia, but it's really stupid on OPEC's part since Putin is quite capable of creating global issues( catastrophes) that can send oil prices to $200 up. Of course, if that happens, OPEC wins as well...or do they.
We've had long-standing oil stability in the world. For OPEC to play chicken with this global balance is incredibly reckless on their part as is so typical of the thinking in the region.

Catkin,
As soon as your #2 issue corrects itself( and that will be sooner than we think), your #2 issue will dwindle into nothing.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,
AS WE APPROACH FATHERS DAY,
HAVE YOU NOTICED OIL PRICES ARE UP AND CORN PRICES ARE DOWN AND WORLD TENSIONS ARE (IMO) WAY UP.
WHERE DOES THAT PUT ETHANOL , IN YOUR CONSIDERED OPINION ?
SLASH
I own a lot of GERS(D)shares , but I must disavow you and everything you post about PEIX. It's much too... what's the word...predatory.
VERY well said, indeed.
Thanks
Thanks for the advice Nobody
I'm not new. I just don't post everyday like others.
I think you're agreeing with me about the emphasis on litigation. Of course YAGi is a problem, but what we're the alternatives ?
Stop the incessant whining, please.
Why all the emphasis on the litigation. Spoils from litigation will be deeply discounted because they are special, nonrecurring income. The real issue is ROYALTIES . That stream is increasing everyday from existing licensees and is bound to increase through settlements and judgements(in my opinion).
So stop talking about the litigation lottery and concentrate on the day-to-day revenues.
The litigation won't hurt, but I've been investing in the underlying technology and the growing importance of non-food grade corn oil.
Best to all.
why not invest in both ?
All this wrangling over PEIX and GERS is a joke. A loss in court will not/should not sink PEIX and a win in court for GERS will only allow a basic valuation of a good ethanol service company. A positive ruling or settlement for GERS will be seen as ONLY that. It will be unusual and nonrecurring income that will not be entered into the longer term view of stock value multiples. At the same time royalty payment compliance by infringers will definitely enhance long-term income prospects for GERS which will enter into P/E calculations for many years to come.
GLTA.
Buy BOTH............
TOO BAD, this board has been infested with lies and material misstatements . It's a shame.
Terrific Posts Today ! I am really impressed with and grateful for
all the intelligent, thoughtful and balanced posts today.
Some of you are really thinking this through in a way that's helpful to all of us.
T hanks. Keep it up .
MisterEc,
I agree on the engineering, but the home use is a huge opportunity. Just cast you eye around any room you're in...
switchplates
nobs
doornobs
picture frames
book ends
fixtures
vents and grates
electrial outlet covers
door stops
dinnerware
silverware
hand tools
to name a few.
Basically EVERYONE will be benefitted by the use of some of the most basic and economical versions of this new miracle convergence of technology, information and the imagination.
Best wishes,
NOBODY, This is a VERY thoughtful and well thought out analysis of what should be happening.
Lots of effort should be focused on resolving the conflict out of the courtroom.
When you're in court , you've already lost even if you have the law on your side. A courtroom is a terrible place to run a business and, as you indicate, to deal with your customers. Ethanol producers are not rogues, they're hard working, intelligent people who should be able to easily resolve this patent tangle.
GoGreenU2...Surprised at your open admission on a public board like this. Very surprised.
I was very impressed with your last writing on ethanol and ADM.
Nice job.
There has been a lot of board drama on the GERS/ICM patent issue.
Can you share your opinion about where this litigation is going ?What likely will happen with corn oil extraction royalties?
I respect the adulation for GRPE, but ANDE gave them quite a boost by purchasing grain elevator assets from GRPE in thE 4th qtr. If not for the draught, ANDE would have achieved record corporate earnings which would have still contained record ethanol manufacturing earnings.
GERS #1 and #2 licensees are awesome.
Too bad ICM has misled so many other ethanol producers to pursue inferior technology and through through unlawful means to boot. ICM was a better company than this at one time. Now they're a disgrace.
Sash,
I really like and respect your firm stand.
Nobody,
This is not about me. Indeed, I do have some basic reasons for my bullishness. I was so frustrated today when I saw what damage was done by a cheap shot, low ball trade that was slipped in at the end of session when I have been advised not to trade.
This brilliant, little company has gold standard customers who will make tremendous gains in ethanol and oil and CO2 and and and. The vulture/hyena types could care less. I can deal with that, but why are other "believers" so timid these days? Oh, well, .02 or .01, whatever, it just means ownership will shift from one group to another.
"Bottom Feeders" can destroy a pretty special concept. Investing is more than that or should be, IMO.
So we lost 25% of account value due to another last minute sale of less than $2000 of stock.Usually it's much less than that.
You might politely call this manipulation, but I think it's an actionable trading violation.
Tomorrow will pop back up like it tends to do.
What a fricking pain these hyenas are. Hyenas are actually bi-gender.
I've bought millions of shares trying to defend this stock from these jokers. Apparently no one believed in GERS today. I was unavailable the last hour of the session.
What About These last minute sales that affect the GERS pps by 20% ? I've been warned that trading in the last 20 minutes of the market session is/can be a trading violation if conducted by an active trader.
It seems to happen with regularity.
Does anyone (serious) care to comment ?
Thanks much.
Dennis,
probably a good case of operating and design inefficiency plus late use or failure to use oil extraction bolt ons.
LOL
The difference is that "milo" is not "corn".
Most of the political angst against ethanol revolves around " don't use food for fuel".
Sorghum/MILO is not familiar to the eco-public as "food".
It is much the same argument as favors cellulosic( wood, grass. leaves).
In this regard I like the theme that says" GMO corn is dangerous, so stop it" I say, "If you don't trust GMO corn, certainly use it for ethanol and fuel uses."
Correction= almost as much as "mission"
IGGYMAN555 I'm for REAL.
I'm "one" of your REAL investors who has purchased hundreds of thousands of dollars of the equity of this very special company. Somedays it's pretty lonely out here, but some of us have a vision(hate that word almost as much as "vision")for what will be even if the world miraculously avoids $10 p/g gasoline in the very near future.
I was working in ethanol when no one else could spell it and well before the Indy 500 found out what it had to offer to exciting open wheel racing.(I can be at the Track in 20 minutes from here and have driven it often)
There are REAL investors out there. Now, Management, you go do your job.
Isn't Anyone going to comment on the late-in-session trades that hit pps hard ? I have been advised that this can be a trading violationdepending on who's doing it.
This is a pretty legitimate board. I'll respect any serious response.
We need some more volume at cheap prices. Keep up the good work,Exposed. Minyety is doing his part, too
