I find it compelling that there isn't much selling going on, even with the gradually increasing bid numbers...
someone tossed out a query to corporate and posted the results on the yahoo board ( the yahoo board is pretty sketchy at the best of times ;) )
anyway, he responded with:
We have made no announcements that would affect stock prices recently.
I unaware of any one else making an announcement that would affect our
stock price either.
Good luck
Rob

I don't know what the original query was, that wasn't shared, presumably something along the lines of "what's up with the recent activity? " or some such...
thought I would pass this along for anyone who doesn't read the yahoo boards and might be interested. ( or not, whatever )
any other boards that people on here read that they have found useful? ( not that yahoo is useful, but I glance at it now and again anyway )
also, any thoughts on what the catalyst actually /is/ for recent movements? ( is it all you dshade? ) charters? pumping somewhere?
I have been holding and occasionally buying this thing for a solid year now, but I find myself again curious as to others thoughts should they wish to share any.
The lack of financials worries me, but then again, they also appear to be chugging along doing at least some amount of business and paying the necessary bills ( which includes rather steep loan repayments as I recall, until the loan is paid off )...
I have enough.... ;)
my average is < .06 currently... which doesn't seem too bad.
we could probably use that 500k purchase you were threatening a bit ago ;) unless you think it's better to wait on it. With the recent volume, I would imagine that
lucky22 has finally gotten rid of his remaining 80k shares by now.
is this related to IPRC in some way?
I don't want to ignore him ( yet ), because if others have a reaction to his posts, I'd like to see what they are responding to etc..
I just think it's irresponsible to post information that is relevant without being able to source it or back it up. Anyone could write anything they want, but it's meaningless without something to back it up. I could, for example, hypothetically claim that salt water is ( I have heard, through some mysterious and secret sources ) a heavy investor in this company, along with his friends, and that he is deliberately trying to bring the stock price down with false and inaccurate posts so that he can scoop up more shares at a lower price. But doing so without being able to justify such a claim with some sort of evidence is just silly, meaningless and unproductive. Unfortunately, others on the board may, or may not take such considerations into account when reading such a post. And therefore, I feel it is important to call out the BS when I see it.
Having said all of that, his claim ( egregious as it may be ) is potentially serious, if it's true.
any results from your phone call?
I wish there was someone on this board who lives nearby, nothing beats first hand eyewitness accounts... I'd do it myself, but I live in the NE.. long way from TX.
"you only make noise when you don't know what to do" - citation please, how and why is that "apparent" ?
"for one you can go and check for yourself " - do you think I live in TX near this plant for some reason??
"send someone else to the plant" - fine, I nominate you, please update up with pictures and other evidence from the plant itself to back up your claims..
"your can insist on your officers for the information" - I do, hasn't worked, any way /you/ can put some pressure on them maybe??
"if I am right I will expect an apology from you and if I am wrong I will apologize," - an apology from me for /what/ exactly? how have I wronged /you/ ???
right... sure... I'll just go read their latest quarterly , oh, wait, there isn't one... I'll go read their latest filing of any sort...oh, wait, there aren't any... are you seriously suggesting I don't know how to do my own due diligence because I can;t find this secret source of information you happen to be publicly blathering about but aren't willing to share? thats ridiculous... I am not /depending/ on you, I am simply asking you to back up your talk... you wrote a bunch of unsubstantiated claims to a public forum... I am calling BS on it, so, back your shit up, or shut up.
"check for yourself" HOW??? where??? through what mechanism?? WHERE did /you/ get this information? and WHY won't you share THAT with the rest of us??
"why do you think that is fishy." - BECAUSE, obviously, you seem to have "secret" information whose source you will not share, and which is apparently not publicly available through the usual channels...
why do YOU seem to think that the rest of us should take your words as being somehow sacrosanct and above question??
I didn't write a post claiming to have "secret information" as you did...
so, you can either back up your claims with something meaningful and substantial, or I'll just assume you're trolling, for what purpose, I don't know, but frankly the tone and wording of your messages strikes me as really fishy...
Can you justify or support your claims though? I notice you seem to have ignored my previous response, yet you responded to this one...
where is your information coming from? what is your information? and why do you bother posting here at all if you're not willing to share what you claim to know?
"put the answer on the board and I will try and compare that to what is true."
If you know what is "true" why don't you just tell us? what's with the secrecy? where are you getting your information? and what information do you have?
when, oh when, is this thing gona A) post some financials and B) actually move a little?
at this point, I'm going to have to resort to playing the pennies off each other and grabbing the gains when I can to lower my price average ( .06 and change currently ). Of course, if lots of people are doing this it's going to create some pretty heavy barriers on the way up...
I haven't invested anything I can't afford to lose... and I don't mind sitting on this thing for the long haul, but somethings gotta give here...
has anyone made a phone call in the recent past? or has that been given up on?
Is the CEO aware of the effect the missing financials are having? does he just not care?
Nasdaq's site will give you a bit more:
http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/fcx/dividend-history
my account shows the lowest it went as .0321. I picked some more up at .0352
I grabbed some myself in that sell...
This company is a total crap shoot...
either they discover rare earths in a quantity that is profitably mineable, or they don't.
if they do, we'll all make some money ( maybe a lot, maybe a little, but some )
if they don't, they probably go down the crapper to 0 ( or close enough that it doesn't matter )
I bought a small position at half a penny...
I'll let it sit until it makes enough to be worth selling, or it just dies...
anyway, that's my $.02 ( or 6 shares )
with China ( being, I believe the former/current largest producer and exporter of rare earths ) clamping down on exports of same, it seemed to me that tossing a few bucks at at least one ( or several ) ventures attempting to make up for the shortfall seemed to be a risk worth taking for the hell of it.
it's not mentioned in my trading account either...
maybe it takes a bit to be picked up, or they don't have the time to spend to manually inform everyone about it when it goes out ( perhaps that costs some $$ to submit it to a service or something, I dunno )
That $4.20 per share would be nice to have?
Check the dividend history... it's all over the place...
http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/scco/dividend-history
are you suggesting this hits a buck?
As much as I would like to see numbers, PR, and other price movers... I don't mind this one chilling down here for a bit longer...
I wouldn't mind owning more, but there's nothing else I am willing to sell to get it at the moment... which means I can only add every 2 weeks or so...
I did some ( albeit simplistic ) math on this awhile back, it's posted here somewhere, and if they truly are just "busy" this stock should at least double.. ( though there is likely to be downward profit taking pressure to get through )
If they're actually at capacity and trying to expand to take on more, well... it could double again... at the least...
I was convinced enough after all the digging around I did back then ( cost per gal for wastewater, skim percentages, barrels a truck holds, etc... ) that it was probably worth at least 8-10 cents or so that I'm willing to go heavily overweight at these levels... In fact, I have several lots at .085 and .10xx and those were bought at about the time I was doing some math on it.. so maybe I figured it was worth a bit more than that... I should dig it up..
Having said all of that, I'm only actually putting in money that I can lose without suffering any economic hardship, and wouldn't suggest others take on any unaffordable risk.
But all of my "risky" allotted money is in this ( except for one downer that is not worth selling at this point, it either comes back, or it goes away, I don't have enough in it to bother with selling it )
my overall cost average on this is down in the low 7's now... and I wouldn't even consider selling at B/E, but there are probably enough people that will settle for a smaller profit, that I could see the rise taking some time..
even if they don't get out, selling a chunk at every 100% gain is probably a decent strategy for a lot of 'em... and will give a lot of downward pressure...
apologies if this rambles ;) trying to multitask here...
I must admit that I tossed a chunk today in the mid 1.90's... ( 13% in < a month? in a ROTH? I had to... )... that's not because I don't think it could ( and will ) go higher, but last time it hit this level, it then dropped for a bit afterwards...
I'll buy in again if it does...
and, if not, well, no-one ever lost by pocketing a profit ;)
my normal IRA is all in mutual funds ( hand-picked by the company no less, am not allowed to pick and choose my investments there, other than between a small set of funds, and that's fine with me, most of my investment money goes there, and the company match is high enough that it would really have to tank hard before I lose any of my own money ( they match 80%! ) )... the ROTH IRA is something I opened on my own,... and since the contributions are after tax anyway, it doesn't really matter where the cash comes from... being up 13% on it within a month of opening it gives me the confidence to mess with it a bit... also, it's new, and the dollar amounts are small enough that I don't mind taking on the risk ( at least, for now... )
the majority of my IPRC is in my "play" account... which is all money I can live with losing... tis a nice place to be in to have that ;) that said, I'd be pissed if I pissed it all away, but it wouldn't hurt me financially...
I did the math on this company awhile back ( there's 1 or more posts related to this somewhere on this forum if you go back aways ). This involved some calculations I did based upon the information they have released related to truckloads of scavenged oil, the capacity of their well, the estimated amount of business they're likely to do, etc...etc...
the numbers ( to me ) appeared to be in favor of buying the stock... and that was when it was... 8c? 10c? so, at the moment, it just feels like a bargain...
I'd throw more at if if I could, but I'm not breaking my retirement plan for it at this time...
lastly, if any of that IRA money you mention is in old accounts, you could roll it over to something that does let you buy penny stocks if that is your inclination, some companies even allow what's called an "in-service" rollover that lets you do that even if you still work there...
yeah, well..
there comes a point where you either believe in something... or you don't...
'tis all money I can lose ( thankfully ) and, while that would suck, it wouldn't affect me financially in any way other than preferring to have it, but not actually needing it...
err... .005 actually ;)
I certainly hope so! I have a chunk at .05 that I've been holding... if it's a write-off, then so be it, ( it's not that much ) but I would certainly rather it wasn't! ;)
somewhere on the order of 55k shares or so of todays trading were totally mine by the way...
20k in my roth act ( after selling some OCZ at a 13% gain :) )
18.5k in an account I manage for a family member...
and 17.5k in my own normal trading account...
I presume there's no rules against my stating all of this are there? ;)
what's with the occasional $10 or $20 trade and the bid?
manipulation?
I see no point in it, but someone, for example, just dumped 300 shares ( what's that, $12 ??? )
I hope so, I just went ahead and sold something else to grab another 17.5k chunk ;)
I wish I could afford to buy more shares... I'm way overweight on this one as it this tho...
If it's still low in a couple of weeks I could grab another chunk then ( and likely will ).
If it's not, well, I have enough now that I won't complain.
I suppose no-one has any indication of when we can expect news? even in a vague general sense?
I imagine it should be soon... hopefully, in 3 weeks, and not less though ;)
It would be nice to have an update from the company.
I doubled my position at these low P/S regardless... Even picking up a nice chunk at .028! ;)

A year and a half ago, ( Jan 11th ? ) This stock was only about .10 - .12... Are you suggesting that you see that as an exit target? And, if so, why? I'm hoping for .50+ at least...
That would be nice, if it's true, however, it's all blind speculation at this point. There were some additional expenses related to getting the disposal well up and running as I recall ( the additional off-loading area for example ) and I believe there were some ( minor ) technical issues that had to be resolved and so on... It's definitely possible that there may have been problems with the station of various sorts ( technical issues, unforseen expenses, who knows.. ) , or additional work required for many reasons, only one of which might be expenses related to "additional revenue/volume". As long as there is decent revenue, and growth in that revenue, hopefully the "additional expenses" won't matter much, because they can be easily covered ( now, or gradually over time ) but again, we have no idea... This is also assuming that these additional expenses relate to the disposal well at all. ( They have interests in other properties and projects as well ). Regardless, I've been slowly acquiring more shares at these prices, even managing to grab a lot at .028 which I'm pretty happy about. I've been buying into this stock for about a year now, and I don't mind holding it for several years ( or more ) as long as they continue to execute and show promise for the future.
I certainly hope so... I have doubled my position over these last weeks at prices ranging from .028 -> .038....
lol ... I'm in at an average of .11... also, your 17,000 shares is amusing ( or is it 12,000 now sine you sold 5k? why are you even trading in lots of $300?? ) 17k at 6 cents is like a grand, give or take... Either grow a pair or stop investing in risky stocks and buy ford or something... scared because it was down, what? 5%??? please... that's nothing...
There's people here in at 10-20 cents, 30 cents, 50 cents... etc.. do you hear them losing their shit?
err... exact same? not even close...
