This pretty much sums it up...
TOVC
Today 3mths 1Yr YTD
TOVC 0.00% -37.50% -61.09% -58.04%
"The Penthouse or The Outhouse... " remember that one Fellas??
That smell you're picking up on...Well it isn't caviar....
I wonder about our all star BOD..
how engaged?? PS owns a bank for God sake..Can't that expedite some of this development/refinement if money and manpower is the holdup...?? They have enough $$ in the couch cushions to keep this thing alive for years if they believe in the technology's promise..?
Not a peep..
from the company or those close to the inside of the company..Other than "lot's of potential" and "these things take time.." Will be 14 years I've had a pretty good chunk of capital parked here..Would have to be a pretty spectacular turn of events to make this a worthwhile investment when factoring in opportunity costs over that time period..I'm just hard headed I guess...??
Pump development activities have now shifted to addressing customer specific applications. Initially, our initial target market is the mobile construction equipment market where reliability, power density and efficiency are critical to the overall cost of ownership of such equipment. Based on the recent test results and our updated assessment of the market, we are now enhancing the design of our hydraulic pump and we are expecting to be testing a revised prototype design during the fourth quarter of 2013. Depending on these test results, we are targeting to begin marketing this technology to potential customers immediately following these tests, which could likely be before the end of the 2013 calendar year.
Ole D.K is taking his sweet ole time
crafting that CEO Update he said announced at the annual Meeting would be out "in a week", I believe..??
Must suck for them to have shareholders who
actually pay attention to what they say, in addition
to what they do. Guess these are now Annual in nature.
I almost miss some of the fantasies that were put out by the prior regime..they were always interesting and
on occasion actually gave the stock some volume...
Almost I said..
Agree they got show me
something ( anything?) @ this point..other than promises
and the "world class, game changing technology, the Hall of Fame BOD, and the talented 24-7-365 engineers"..
There'd still be time..They wore Dread and others out..It's not patience, persistence or vision why I'm still here-I'm naïve and
feel misled by the messengers..My late Father was the only one I know who made out on TOVC bought at 2 and sold at 7..Wish I was more like the Ole Man- in many ways !!
Got a market alert email from Google mail his a.m.
re: TOVC..peaked my curiosity so I opened it...
It said...:
"Torvec, Inc. (OTCMKTS:TOVC) declined -7.50% recently, while trading on 41,000 shares at the price of $0.370. If we look at its trading history of the past 52 weeks, the share price suffered a low of $0.30 and was moved to its maximum level of $0.90.The stock changed hands in a range of $0.34 to $0.44, bringing its market capitalization at about $16.91 million. Torvec, Inc. designs, develops, builds, and commercializes automotive technologies...."
The Tradition continues...
Going back to 2000,
which sadly I do with this little enterprise- the only thing reliable with respects to Torvec and timelines is their consistency in not meeting them. I can only think of one: They got their One sold FTV delivered to the Airforce on time. Other than that..I draw blanks.
I heard 2015/16.
I recall this- because of my churning stomach, that 2014 was going to be more "refinement, testing, improving products" preparing them for commercialization..............
Amen Zendo. EOM
Seeing Is believing at this point.
In addition this pretty much contradicted What Kaplan said at the Annual meeting..pushing the timeline for commercialization out to 2015/2016.? I hope the written is on point...other than wait....
jd
UTY..
Thanks for the PM....gives me some comfort but still think this iceberg will continue to be slow moving
Applaud the candor..
and it was good to chat with you post meeting in the parking lot.Best of luck and thanks for all your service here ( I think ?)It sure has been a ground hog's day type of investment- no matter who was at the helm. There are so many euphemisms that work with respect to this investment.."Nothing is as constant as change.." "the more things change the more they stay the same..." "Denial- it's not just a river in Egypt" I had the same vibe as you..It's now become just a group of wealthy guys tinkering with their ideas and toys..still wishing and hoping for a pot of gold..Early investors are not enlightened- just stuck. I'd unravel my postion too- but they've pretty much already done that for me...
Put it in a time capsule..
come back in 2016- hope to get out alive..
I wish I could..
trick myself into believing this has been a two year investment for me. Yet my mind can't shake having attended every Annual since 2000. At times we may have had better success in going on that show Shark Tank..Maybe Mark Cuban would have taken a flyer and eased my pain. Thank God the rest of the market has taken the sting out this chunk being dormant for fast approaching two decades. You have company in your depression.
I ended up goin... call it curiosity
or more so Irish Martyrdom ?? My favorite part of the Q&A was when DK was called to reflect on part of last years' presentation when he theorized that "revenue would begin in 2013 and that 2014 looked like a breakout for the company's commercialization"...His reply..."Did I say That"...??? Uh, yeh you did Dick..like a broken record- push it back to the future...The one that never comes with this company. It was once again an engineering lovefest
...or the really pretty girl in H.S.
who kept ya at bay.." look..but don't touch.." same principle
Check out my post # 23705.
I would bet this is what you'll get verbatim. History tends to repeat itself. It will also be a strokefest on the "talent contained inside the company" and the "world class BOD" etc..meanwhile another year of no contracts and not selling a single thing to a single customer..( not counting 14 Iso torques to the DIY market.)Yep thought we'd have fared much, much better by now. 6 months without a peep- If something were up they'd want to get some attaboys by now just IMHO.
.37 cents now Zendo @ 11:11 EST...
Here's your buying opportunity ???I may have to go to the
annual Meeting just to hear some old timer ask WTF??
Zendo...
It's like putting down more money at the
window for a race that you're not sure the horse
is ever going to get out of the paddock and to
the starting gate??.At time's it feels as though he
have broken down in a training run and they didn't
have the heart to tell us he's not gonna run....??!! oh how
I long to hear.."and they're off"
.50 cents...& half way through 2013
unreal...!

not a very pretty picture..If it were a patient, the doctors would be talking about pulling the plug ???
I appreciate optimism..
even the cautious kind, but the funny thing about next year is, particularly with respects to Torvec, it never comes...It's always this year .
We who have been here a long time get called impatient and or negative when all we've really been doing is paying attention to the disconnect between what has been said and what's been done..
Yeh but you're consistent Trucker !!?
Yep they keep tinkering, developing, refining products that they told their shareholders were market ready 5-6 years ago?? For a Marketing/Sales Guy like Kaplan it has to be more than frustrating..For an entreprenuer like BTG, puzzling to say the least?? trying to get out of this alive at this point..my expectations of anything approaching the paydays outlined by the prior leadership are all but Dead..To go to another meeting would be Groundhogs day movie..I'll leave that to the less road weary.
It's official..this has become the most boring
investment on the planet.Don;t think I can stomach another Annual meeting..the ego stroking, the crappola that will fly around...ole J.G. RIP used to like to say where else they gonna go..apparently there are options cause they're still making vehicles...good ones in fact..
The venue really doesn't matter..
although I hear you- even the words Casa Larga are associated in my brain with hyperbole and empty rhetoric. For those that go, they'll hear "we are making great strides", that the Gleasman Family "held on to GM,XRX,IBM stock investments for over 50 years", this investment "requires patience" etc...Perhaps this superstar BOD, who are well incentivitized to be active/engaged, will do what they are chartered to do..work on behalf of the shareholders and get us a ROI- even if that means selling the patents?? Oh yeh, while I'm still alive would be peachy. I don't even know what a decent return on investment would be after 15 years, I'll leave that up to the #'s guys here.??
where did ya learn that ?? I hope you're right..Still I can't help but wonder if that was the case..why wouldn't they sign a development deal with TOVC..basically saying.."Don't worry lil TOVC about the expense, time and delays of setting up your own testing facility etc. ( previously stated as 3-6 months ?)We can do it in house. If it delivers we want the product and the patents and we'll pay ya nicely for it... Any thoughts..??
Re; the Annual meeting..
Save yourself two hours and a gallon of gas..here is what you're likely to hear... "We are close to commercializing these world changing technologies..., We are still refining and fine tuning our product portfolio from good to great products..We should have testing cycle completed in 3-6 months time, when our marketing efforts will begin in earnest...2014 and 2015 should be breakout years for the company..."
Dread, ATL,Torvecian,Digger ( if your not still in purgatory) did I miss any biggies ????
Oh yeh we have overwhelming interest in our Isotorque, pump..and other technologies...looking back to the First one I attended in 2000, they should hold the Annual on April 1st every year...
Me,I wonder if anybody from Torvec
has ever even met Gen. Clark?? the upside is he's can't do any
harm to the commercialization effort..Is he deserving of $250,000 free shares?? Who knows..The only folks who put their money where their mouth is here are the Gleasmans, and Golisano. to date, nobody is being enriched for their participation..maybe someday..but how long can you keep saying that..apparently forever..ya know tommorow never comes-it's always today..
If this were facebook..
you would have just got a like..I agree. The CTO outlined at the annual meeting what the tail end of 2013 was going to entail and that commercialization would be in mid 2013 and would really ramp up in 2014..( i.e)..If I were a betting man, and having almost a 13 year park and sit here..I would bet there is no commercialization save a few differnentials to a hundred car guys..I guess that's something..but not why i'm here ( or TG either I would guess)are still developing their stuff..7-8 years after they said they were ready and anticipating "a bidding war..."...This flat out sucks...
I love when you talk in code...
it's almost like Jim is still with us..!!
Uptheyard..
You still around..?? What's goin on..??
That's why I invested
13 years ago...The website awards..
Well, it's somethin..
would much rather hear they signed a deal to produce 1/2 a million iso torques for South Korea's largest Auto maker..It's nice but it's still indicative of a development stage company, ain't it ??
This topic has been discussed to death..I get it..
What I'm interested is some demand..and only commercializing this stuff will create demand..buyers..that's what I was referring to..
