I had written to Mitchell about the current situation and the lack of any reassuring communication from APDN management. Here is his reply. Just don't know what to conclude.
Hi Shailesh,
While the current volatility is painful, I believe the company is still positioned for growth in a better way that it has ever been.
It is always risky guessing why the market that's the way it does in the short run. Fundamentally, the only long-term way to reverse the present tumble is to build a great company. It is our job at APDN to do this, to deliver, and I have complete confidence that we will.
I hear your point about better communications from management, and I will be sure to pass that on.
Mitchell
Good. Let us know if you hear from them.
Honestly. I hate to say this but this is turning out to be a piece of shit. Can't take it anymore.
Everyday I hope that something will turn this around but it just goes deeper into the mud. And not a word from the great Dr.
Should have exited much earlier. Now there is no choice but to hold on to this trash till some smarty pumps it up.
Hi. Did you write to Karol or Debbie?
I know SP but they are the only ones we have. Why not pester them a bit and try.
In any case we are in shambles and doomed if nothing happens.
Try these mail ids'
debbie.bailey@adnas.com
Karol.gray@adnas.com
Mitchell.miller@adnas.com
Why don't more of us write to Debbie or Karol or Mitchell expressing our disappointment with the turn of events and suggest some proactive action from their side like issuing some PRs or a statement from the Dr. reassuring all shareholders.
I am sure that will make some difference. If I could get Karol Gray to call me back, she will respond to most of you too.
Worth a try.
Two things will matter.
1. Results to be declared by Dec 12 - these have to show a handsome increase in revenue and reduction in expenses.
2. We need some more analysts to review and comment positively on APDN business. Zacks alone is not impressive and influential.
Add to this a few promising contract announcements and forecasts for the next year and we should be good. Else its doomsday.
You are welcome.
For me this board is like a virtual family. I don't put in the kind of research like you, A1 or a few others but I try and do my bit.
Eventually I would like to see us all profit but I wonder whether I can hold that long. I feel guilty because I asked my son to invest in this stock.
GLTA.
She did not comment on that but said that they are hopeful of revenues increasing this year. Debbie also mentioned that a lot of investors have been showing interest.
I did not ask but either way they would not have revealed anything to an individual.
Just finished my call with Karol and Debbie. First off, I appreciate that they took the trouble to call me back.
While most of their replies were guarded because of disclosure restrictions, they strongly believe that the up listing to Nasdaq will work out favorably in the near term. They mentioned that a number of analysts are now taking interest in the stock and it will take some time for them to build up their impressions of the company.
They said that they are working on a number of pilots which will soon translate to revenue, once the proof of concept is established. This is nothing new but they appeared confident of ramping up revenue this financial year. They said that the management realizes fully well that revenue realization/ramping has to be this year.
Karol assured me that she has her eyes on expenses and the buy back of warrants was only to clean up the balance sheet. Probably a requirement from some investors.
While most of this is in the public domain, I just feel that they have the best intentions at heart and know where they are headed. At least they had the courtesy to respond to a disgruntled investor and not run away from the task. My problem is I can't get rude with ladies and I did not ask them some nasty questions but I was quite satisfied with their response.
Maybe some others on this board could also try reaching out to them.
I do understand. What I had typed was a set of emoticons but I guess they do not get reproduced on this and hence came up as question marks.
You might probably see me standing next to you.
????????
Yeah Pasta. I am sure those guys have branded me as a pain in the ....t.
To be honest their responses never make me any wiser.
Mike,
I am very much here. Put a quick draft together and sent it out to Karol. I wanted her to have it in front of her when I call her tomorrow.
She has suggested that I call her so that she can address my concerns. Will let you know what transpires tomorrow though I suspect I will just get a bunch of political answers.
Hi all,
Thank you for all the suggested questions. I am going to compile them together in a nice draft and send it to Karol and then call her up to see what she has to say.
Hope I can get something out of her.
Hi Yip,
Trust me we are all depressed. At least I am and I admire your admitting it. Like you, my goal was also of a shorter term and I was hoping to make some money out of this stock by the year end. Now I am losing big time.
This has been a lousy stock for me though I must admit I had ample opportunities to get out with a decent profit.
Every quarter is nothing but a new low. I was never in favor of a RS of this size. 1:60 was a joke and they did that to get the price over $5 only to now be traded at 2.75. Those +*^%#ers in control owe us an explanation.
You are right, though I have had those kind of responses from Debbie in the past.
Thanks Go.
Thanks. Sure I will.
I shot out another mail to Debbie and Karol today asking for a response. I now have a reply from Karol, suggesting that call her so that she can address my concerns.
Would anyone like to suggest a few questions to ask, so that I can make the call worthwhile. I know that if I limit the conversation to the stock price, she will say that stock market activity is beyond their control and she will have no comment on the stock trading pattern.
Incidentally, the guy from Maxim called me again today to explain the situation. He was apologetic about the offer price and said that the current volume was from people who had bought into the offer. Though they bought the stock at 3.24 and made a loss if they sold at 2.75, they still had the warrant at 1 cent. This way the new buyers take out all the risk in their buy. This might continue till the offer is still on. He was hopeful that once the offer closes the volume will reduce and in the near term the price could go back to the $5 level. He also expects some good PRs from APDN.
I don't know whether I have understood him correctly but this was the summary of our conversation.
CK,
Do you see the volume as a silver lining? Almost 11 million pre split.
A1- we have no say in the matters because in % terms most of the shares are closely held between the management team and people like Crede. Retail investors constitute an insignificant %.
So all this voting business is a farce because they will always win the vote.
Yeah Pasta,
This has been so frustrating and disappointing. Every time we keep hoping that this will be the turning point for the stock only to be let down once again.
I feel cheated and foolish at the same time. Should not have been emotionally attached to the stock. Had ample opportunities to make money and exit only to come back in at lower levels. Absolutely wrong way that I played this stock.
My mail to Debbie/Karol
Let's just force something out of them. They owe us some explanation. I am very disappointed and disillusioned. Never again a penny stock. This has been just too frustrating. I now realize that the best way to make money is to play the swings and not be long.
Hi Debbie/Karol,
The drop in APDN price over the last two days is dismaying. Most gullible long term investors who believed in your game plan, feel cheated out of their hard earned money invested in the stock.
We were given to believe that up listing to the Nasdaq would be good for the stock. Now we are almost at the 5 cent level pre split. One of the Nobel reasons justifying the reverse split was that it would attract institutional investors who otherwise did not invest in stocks priced less than $5. With the price now below $3 how in the heavens Re you hoping to attract them to invest in APDN.
I think the management owes an explanation to the long term shareholders and a word of reassurance that all is still well with this stock.
Would appreciate an honest reply.
Thanks and regards.
Shailesh.
Hi all,
I just sent a mail to Debbie, Karol and Mitchell seeking an explanation for the sensational drop in price in the last two days.
I think all of us should blast them with mails to get them to issue some kind of a statement or else, this management will for ever take us for a ride.
Shail.
Go,
I received the amended copy of the prospectus today and that was before the carnage that we saw in the market today.
In that they had mentioned that they would now be reducing the amount to $9 million but they had also mentioned that an existing large investor (could be Crede ) has agreed to pick up stock worth $1.5 million, which could also go up marginally.
This could be one of the reasons for the reduction or else it might be just what you say. Window dressing.
Just did not understand the rationale behind this carnage. More than 7.5 million volume pre split levels.
The only possibility is that one of the bigger investors like Crede, sold of to liquidate money to buy thru the S1 offer and gain a cool bonus by way of warrants.
Very unfair if that is the case.
Just close shop and go out for a walk. Come back tomorrow A1.
I was also not in favor of it. First of, the ratio was very unfavorable and secondly the timing in terms of the pps.
Could this be Crede taking some kind of revenge for all the money that they put in.
Volume has crossed the equivalent of 6 million pre split.
Ck - what's your take on this. This is what I had expected when I had mentioned that it will not retain its price.
This is just awful. Can't bear to watch this destruction. I don't understand how this helps anything in any which way.
Are the MMs just trying to prevent the up listing?. Who the hell is selling and who is buying into this carnage???
But would it not make sense to let the market price be higher than the offer price, to make the offer look sweeter.
These *^%#}ears made an ass of us longs. If this falls down to the $4 level, it will languish here for another year or more.
Pure bullshit. Up list or no up list.
I think we are the suckers buying his story every time. He has not failed in making a hash of every conference call.
Just when everything looks good a few days before the call, you can count on him to screw it up. I have faced this over the last three calls and paid the price.
Poor judgement on my part I should say.
My TD Ameritrade account is also showing the converted shares now. Happened towards the end of the day today.
What happens after we up list. Will it again mean a state of flux?
Hope not.
Plug's quarterly calls have always been a disaster. They have never worked out favorably.
Trust Andy to screw up.
Same is the case with TD Ameritrade. I have been following up with all involved I.e. Debbie, TD and AST our agents but they keep throwing the ball into the other's court.
I was assured by Debbie that AST had promised to resolve this issue by today but I am still not able to see the converted shares in my account.
While the MMs continue to merrily trade the stock, we are not. I have been told that I can call up the broker and ask for a trade to be executed but that is not what I want.
Added to that the S1 offer, the suspense behind the up list to Nasdaq and I wonder where we will be next week.
