Stocks related to crude prices are advancing today as futures traders bid up the commodity. Oil sands stocks, which are engaged in one of the more expensive ways of acquiring crude oil, are no exception. The sector has made an impressive monthly rally after being crushed when oil prices fell from their highs last summer. Gains in energy prices should continue as the economy stabilizes, according to the Energy Information Administration. The U.S. Energy Department bureau predicted that a barrel of oil will cost $110 by 2015.
As a whole, the Oil Sands Stocks Index is up by 3.4%. It is beating the S&P 500 by 24.5% over the last month.
Barclays Capital upgraded Petro-Canada (NYSE: PCZ - News) today to Overweight from Equal Weight. The stock is ahead by 4% on the news, as is the company's partner in a pending merger, Suncor Energy (NYSE: SU - News).
North American Energy Partners (NYSE: NOA - News) is the sector's top performer on the day, up by 5%. The stock is trading at nearly three times its average daily volume, and has now rallied by 66% over the last 30-days.
The current market-cap leader Canadian Natural Resources (NYSE: CNQ - News) is up 2% today on optimism around energy prices. The company will lose its top spot in the Index on the basis of size upon the completion of the merger between Suncor and Petro-Canada.
Oilsands Quest (AMEX: BQI - News) is the day's industry laggard, trading down by -1%.

After long fight, Vietnam vet gets his due on the WallStory Highlights
Marine Gunnery Sgt. Enrique Valdez's name added to Vietnam Veterans Memorial
From Paul Courson
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Fifteen years after his death, and after his family fought a very long bureaucratic battle with the government, Enrique Valdez's name was added to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
Rick Valdez looks at his father's name on the Wall on Monday.
1 of 2 Valdez was a Marine gunnery sergeant wounded by shrapnel in August 1969, combat that left him a quadriplegic.
Since his death in 1994, his family has been waiting for the Defense Department to answer their requests that Valdez be included on "The Wall."
On Memorial Day, his family finally got their wish, as they watched his name officially added to "The Wall."
His name was added to the registry after the Department of Defense declared he was eligible because he died from his war injuries.
Rick Valdez was 7 when his father was deployed to Vietnam.
"The night he had to go to the bus station for his second tour of duty, that was the last time I saw him walking," the son recalled.
"The next time we saw him was at the Veterans Administration hospital in Long Beach [California], after they shipped him home," he said.
The Marine was 32.
"There are people that are worse off than I was," Tina Valdez recalled his father always saying. "I enlisted, and I served. I knew what I was getting into. And if this is the worst that could happen to me, well then, so be it."
Valdez's family previously thought since he hadn't been killed during war, Enrique Valdez couldn't be on the wall.
Comrades and others told the family that he could be added to "The Wall "as long as we could show that his death was a result of his [war] injuries," said daughter Tina Valdez.
"And when my father passed away, they put it on the death certificate, long before we even knew that this was a possibility."
Now, they couldn't be more thrilled that it's not a possibility anymore -- it's a reality -- though they don't have an explanation for why the Defense Department finally notified them.
"What changed?" his daughter Tina Valdez asked. "I've been sending [the Defense Department] the same information for 14 years. Why all of a sudden is it different now?"
But when she saw the fresh lettering earlier this month on Panel 17, she felt that an explanation didn't matter as much anymore.
you should have read the PAPA board than, they were hyping almost the same way, talking about bikes and being in China, now I know why Matt stepped in

sheesh now I have to start reading some of EVO's old posts
LOL
Or maybe discount brokerages or stock message boards should require new investor to read a warning that paid promoters are pumping stocks that they have no interest in and will take their money by telling them that the share price will go up as the Company begins to dump million of shares in the open market while the promoter keeps telling them things will be alright and that their maybe a huge PR coming, that will cause the price to go back up, which of course we all know will never happen
First Female Air Force Academy graduate dies in Afghanistan
(CNN) -- The U.S. Air Force Academy is mourning its first female graduate to be killed by enemy forces in Afghanistan or Iraq.
First Lt. Roslyn L. Schulte, 25, graduated from the Air Force Academy in 2006.
First Lt. Roslyn L. Schulte, 25, died Wednesday near Kabul, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered in a roadside bomb attack.
She was an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations officer assigned to the 613th Air and Space Operations Center, the Air Force said Friday in a news release.
Schulte was deployed to Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan. She was traveling in a convoy to Bagram Airfield to participate in an intelligence sharing conference.
"Losing Lt. Schulte has been a tragedy felt by everyone here and across the Air Force," said Col. Terrence O'Shaughnessy, 613th AOC commander. "Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with the family of this heroic airman."
Schulte's fellow airmen "will be forever proud of her," he added.
Schulte graduated from the academy in 2006. She is the 10th graduate to die in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the academy said.
Schulte's parents live in St. Louis, Missouri. She also had a brother.
Her father told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that his daughter was a natural leader who was teaching Afghan forces how to handle military intelligence.
"She knew how to talk to chiefs of staff, to generals, to privates, and they listened," Robert Schulte told the paper. "And that's what we needed, a great leader of people
Bottom line, folks need to take personal responsibility for there investment choices and quit blaming the promoters
WOW I don't even know what to say about that statement, except most season investors don't get sucked into them, its the new investors that do believe all the hype and don't do their due diligence and lose money
WOW
of course it is, many people have lost money playing the pennies, and now they have someone to blame, and in the case of the stocks that were mentioned in connection with the pump and dump they do.
money and power are a powerful drug, it brings you things that you would not normally have, and if you can't deal with it, you do things that normally you would not do, because you want more, case in point if these charges are true MATT
as related to the specific case yes,
I believe you are wrong otherwise they would have been indicted also or at least mentioned in some of the post that scion has been posting
sorry if I butchered your name
IHUB will survive, they should be subpoenaed for all related records, but if Matt does plea bargain as I suspect will be the case, he must disclose all past wrong doings, ALL or otherwise the plea will be thrown out. So I believe more people will be affected by this as this case draws to a conclusion
I agree the playing field here was manipulated and still is, people tend to be believers until they are knifed in the back a few times, than they realize what the hell is going on, as I speak from experience.
I hope that this is not taken as a personal attack but an observation, when I saw Matt with Valerie I knew something was up, he had more money than IHUB was making for him, and lets face it women like her are not with men like Matt unless their is lots of money
does anyone know if they have frozen the defendants money accounts
I hope so, if that day comes we will have to have a party
I canceled my membership renewal this morning
Matt knows something and they will use it to try to convict the others, either a plea or immunity is in Matt's future, I would suspect and of course he must disclose all past and present scams he may know
my favorite line
. They're not places where "serious investors connect," unless you're a stock promoter seeking to network with other stock promoters. They're places where the naive are skinned alive.
I hope you are right, I think Matt may cop a plea and turn states evidence, and in order to do that you must disclose all crimes that you've committed or know about, otherwise your plea agreement is invalidated, so if their is any manipulation on IHUB and Matt knew about it all parties better be shaking in their boots
