semi, could you please explain the difference between a stock sell and a true stock sell? Does every sale of shares of a quantity below 1500 shares not qualify as a true sale?
Please help and clarify.
Much appreciated!
Bulldog, I really don't agree, and that's ok, that'S why these places are for.
I think the growth of Dell, Intel and even Microsoft will suffer and will be at a standstill in a not-too-long future.
Marine, with all due respect of course, I believe the MMs, the Shorts, the crooks, etc. are the ones who have been LMAO.
Well perhaps the next Q report, along with its usual unexpected bad news, will change that.
Maybe, maybe not...

realtruth, Wow, I didn't know a volume could dry up in a direction or the other. Please help me understand, how do you determine that? What are the conditions for a volume to dry up in one direction?
Thanks for your help!
Marine, please explain. I would like to learn how a MM dry spell looks. Once again, thanks for your expertise!
Cali, I'm not sure what's good and bad about it but the stock is not moving that's for sure. It ain't going anywhere and with the upcoming Q report, with the usual traditional BAD NEWS, I can see why people are in a wait and see mode.
real, be careful for what you say, AND WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, NO PERSONAL ATTACK INTENDED, we thought this stock was a 5-10-bagger at .50 and .70.
It can happen, it did happen before, it will happen again....
Arnold, it will be part of their survival plan. They do not have a choice.
The next quarterly earning (loss) report should be quite interesting.
realtruth, please, think about it, there's a reason why no one bought them out, and won't EVER. Nortel's products weren't a threath before and they won't be now that they're BRANKRUPT!.
They have NOTHING to offer but old technology. No R&D coming, the little that was left is all going to be cut to survive.
Yep, Nortel's employees and ex-employees pensions will be gone (actually it partially-gone already) and shareholders' investment as well.
Arnold, RED doesn't begin to describe this stock. One has to be careful here, some people may be very positive on this stock, and some have been for A WHILE, but history doesn't lie, and this stock has been painful to its shareholders for A WHILE.
Nortel will survive, the stock won't IMO.
Nortel currently has approximately $4.5 billion in debt, $2 billion in pension obligations, and $2.3 billion in cash and restricted cash. However, approximately $400,000 of that cash is tied up in a troubled U.S. money-market fund and as much as $1 billion could be tied up in a joint venture with LG, Stewart said.

Artist, bring it down to what? It's at 7+ pennies.
Shorts have bigger fish in sight IMO.
rozzy, you can bet the common shares will become worthless.
Come to think of it, they're pretty much close to it now....
Marine, any idea how many of Nortel's patents are actually used and paid by other companies?

Arnold, what do you base your opinion on? What makes this stock different than last week or the week before, or actually the month before?
realtruth, with all respect due, didn't you also say so in December when the stock was $0.30 OR So? I'm not flaming you, I just want to know what makes today different than then?
Thanks for your insight.
Hard to have this stock make new lows sitting at 7+ pennies! Not much room for new lows.
Let's just wait until the next earnings (loss) report... and the usual bad news that comes with it.
Shadow, IBM does sell proprietary software as well. Ditto for the Cisco and Avaya boxes.
NT holding its own over 7 pennies, what a rock this stock is!
Thanks for your valuable input semi!
I totally agree. Why would one do it at this level? There are plenty of other bigger fish in the sea.
stocky, I totally agree. Nortel will survive.
However the stock is toast IMO!
I guess we had a new bottom right? Any idea how long this one will last?
And then again maybe this stock just isn't worth more than .08 ....
NYBob, I just cashed in my original entry. I'll let the profits ride for a while.
sidedraft, you're right. Thanks for the heads up.
Must go to bed now, it's already almost mid-day where I was.
Good night all, Best of luck to you tomorrow.
