"You can get a good look a t-bone by sticking your head up a bull's ass, but I'd rather take a butcher's word for it." This is a great quote from Chris Farley in the movie Tommy Boy.
Excuse me while I lose the usual professional tone that I carry here on Investors Hub, but hello! I feel as if this is how investors/traders treat due diligence. It only took 30 seconds to find that ESP Resources, Inc. (ESPI) was/is clearly being promoted, pumped, etc.! I'm a busy college student while working a full time job, if I can find time for due diligence then the rest of you should have an abundant about of time. Google is a magnificent tool that investors/traders seem to be unable to use.
Folks, you're not solving a homicide. Let me help the naive investors/traders do their due diligence. Google "ESP Resources Promotion" and follow the first link in the search results. Find it? Good. Now scroll down until you see the "LATEST STOCK PROMOTIONS"; don't bother grabbing your reading glasses, it's really in all capitalization and on a red background. What's that? ESP Resources, Inc. (ESPI) was promoted? Gee, who would have thought? That wasn't difficult was it? It's not rocket science.
"If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck."
I will be the first one to say that I have no knowledge on promotions, but I know one when I see one. Don't kid yourself. Nothing is "brewing" or whatever kind of "hype" you wish to follow along with like sheep. "someone knows something that we don't" or something along those lines. Yes, your right. You don't know how to execute simple due diligence. Someone is capitalizing on your ignorance.

1-800-Flowers.com Inc. (FLWS) is a bit expensive compared to peers in the services sector, borderline expensive compared to peers of the special retail, other industry.
elanfox, ESP Resources, Inc. (ESPI) should release earnings on April 4, 2014. Though it wouldn't surprise me if (ESPI) files NT. Correct me if I'm wrong, but NT stands for Not Timely. (ESPI) has been filed late two times in the past year I believe. I don't think earnings will be something you'll want to see, but more importantly news must be what you're expecting most.
(ESPI) seems to always release news after earnings are released, but more importantly earnings seems to have had hidden items that (ESPI) doesn't wish to share via press release but is required to. I have no proof to back up this claim, but I could find the proof if necessary. This is just what I felt based on past experience from when I invested in (ESPI).
golonghorns, that is excellent due diligence!
Bank of America to Increase Quarterly Common Stock Dividend to $0.05 per Share and Authorizes a New $4 Billion Common Stock Repurchase Program

maxxm, you said, "we will see $20 by next february" on Wednesday, 09/25/13 07:00:41 PM. I thought this to be highly unrealistic, especially with no rational reasoning to backup your claim. Though I believe a $20 PPS by the end of the summer is a much more realistic price target for Bank of America Corp. (BAC), even without any rational reasoning to backup your claim. Calculating that (BAC) is roughly 15% from the $20 PPS price point and the "official" end of summer ending on Sept. 22, 2014 which is roughly 6 months from today's date.
I believe this realistic claim is conservative. I don't like speculating on future prices, but I believe (BAC) could reach this PPS before Sept. 22, 2014 or the end of the summer. I have a price target $21.74, which is roughly 25% from this price point. I would feel that it would be reasonable that (BAC) could reach this by Sept. 22, 2014 or the end of the summer. This is based on momentum only. If I were to add other factors then this target date could change.
(BAC) has been experiencing a channel up ever since I entered a position on July 1, 2013, possibly longer. During this channel up there have been strong increases in PPS reaching the top line resistance and healthy consolidations and resistance bottom line resistance.
Bank of America May Be Able to Raise Its Dividend – But Should It?

ison929, I meant all of the in the right way. I appreciate your opinion, after all that is why we are all here; to collaborate on investment/trading ideas and opinions. By how much do you believe the dividend will increase?
ison929, if you had to get an answer out of me; I would say that the likelihood of the Government allowing a dividend increase is in Bank of America Corp. (BAC)'s favor. If it happens that (BAC) is not allowed a dividend increase then I believe we could rest assured that (BAC) will increase their buy back. I don't mind speculating on certain items, but with Government decision making being factored in could be anyone's "guess." Of course (BAC) wants a dividend increase, but will the Government allow this? We should know soon enough I suppose.
JJ8, thank you for sharing! It will be interesting day tomorrow. Bank of America Corp. (BAC) is rumored to raise dividends since stress tests have been released. I will not guess weather or not (BAC) will raise dividends nor will I guess how much (BAC) will raise dividends. This is all of course contingent on weather the Government will allow a dividend increase.
gregque, thank you for sharing and good luck!
Dragonfly79, rough est. of shares traded over .04 would be 700k.
runningwithscissors, I was out a long time ago. Took the tax write off and ran for the hills.
readytrader, you are contradicting yourself. You just made an "assumption." I do agree with your last point though.
JJ8, thank you for sharing. As always, it's very good to see others make profitable investment/trade choices. I would be interested if you would share when you decide to take total profits and trade other stocks that meet your needs for your trading strategy. I myself am testing a few different strategies which include long-term investing as well as swing trading and day trading. If these strategies preform better than the current value investing strategy I use then I might be selling in the near future depending on when testing is finished. I have been using value investing since I began investing, but I feel I'm ready to branch out and find a strategy that is more aggressive.
Loose Change, I have no proof as to why ESP Resources, Inc. (ESPI) is substantially up today. I exhausted the search for news articles to find nothing. I would guess this is a "pump" based on a poster below saying, "Thank Stock Aviator for this run, my friends." I doubt there is nothing new under the sun here with (ESPI). We have all seen (ESPI) be pumped and dumped in the past.
makemoney18, thank you for the "Happy St. Patricks Day" and in return "Happy First day of Spring!"
I have been great, thank you for asking. Life is the same old, same old. I been busy working and going to school. Investing is doing well also.
With the extra time in my busy schedule I have been testing new investment/trading strategies that involve long-term investing, swing trading and day trading. I began using value investing since I have began investing, but now I have a better grasp on investing/trading now feeling I'm ready to branch out and find more aggressive strategies. I still enjoy value investing, but if these new strategies preform better than value investing then I use a different strategy.
As you know I am "all in" on Bank of America (BAC). I didn't make a post here on this board, but I reentered in a new position at $16.50 on 1/27/14. I have a price target of $21.45 or 30% gain and a stop on $15.84 or 4% loss. I also have had someone who is a customer of the business I work at who would like to give me $10,000 in starting capital to invest for him. I don't know specifics as of now, but I'm consulting with my attorney to see if there is a legal way to do so without licenses. He has a financial advisor, but would like to give me an opportunity. How about you, how is life and investing/trading?
driver103, I believe you have mistaken. ESP Resources, Inc. (ESPI) does not have a new CEO, specifically James P. Martino. See link below or simply google, "James P. Martino" under the "News" tab.
Link: http://www.marketwired.com/press-release/avotus-announces-james-p-martino-as-new-ceo-1890718.htm
MWM, I am well aware of that. I just thought I would ask, seeing that you were once an active poster here on this board. Thank you for sharing.
squashjohn, just as I predicted. Zulily Inc. (ZU) is dropping, dropping and dropping some more. The first line of support seems to be in the $50 range. Once PPS gets closer to this range perhaps a more precise support price will be foreseen. I wouldn't call (ZU) a roller coaster, there are certainly other stocks that would better fit that description. I hope you didn't chase the bull here.
I mean this in the right way, but I can't understand what you're asking due to your horrible grammar and sentence structure. Are you asking if I believe (ZU) will have a $100 PPS in the future? If so, I don't predict future stock prices. I do think there is a better growth opportunity in the "Catalog & Mail Order Houses" industry than (ZU).
mkendra, almost 3 months ago I said that I believed Century Aluminum Co. (CENX) to be a better performer than Alcoa, Inc. (AA) and you can confirm this statement by looking at the last reply to your post I'm replying to. Since then today, (CENX) is up 42% and (AA) is up 31%. Both preforming exceptionally well, but (CENX) has clearly outperformed (AA). When looking at the "Aluminum" industry today, I have reevaluated and believe that Noranda Aluminum Holding Corp. (NOR) will outperform it's peers.
Don, thank you very much! Now another screen option that StockTables.com has that I can't seem to find on Finviz.com is Accumulation/Distribution. Where would this be on Finviz.com's screener?
Don, I always use Finviz.com as a screener, but I couldn't find Relative Strength as a screening option? If you know where this option is, please let me know.
boo boo, thank you and you too! I will keep an eye on Penn Virginia Corp. (PVA).
lowtrade, do you know of any free screeners that can screen Relative Strength? I'm using one called StockTables.com, but it's a 2 week free trial. Any recommendations of a free screener similar to the one I mentioned?
MWM, are you still holding here?
JJ8, there was a bullish candlestick confirmed today recognized as a bullish engulfing.
Gregwit, that's unfortunate. Well, I would still call Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) the best of the breed of the biotechnology industry.
Gregwit, if you had invested in this when I told about it, you would be up almost 112%. Hope you listened, did you not?
boo boo, understandable. We are all busy with other obligations in life. I never bought a position in Penn Virginia Corp. (PVA). I was simply making an observation. Do you have a position here?
ss11, I see significant downside here.
[SMART MONEY], I believe Catamaran Corp. (CTRX) will edge lower short term, but will regain traction and continue higher. The bottom looks to be around the $42-$44 range.
Fa$tlane, almost a month later and Annie's Inc. (BNNY) is down almost 4% and Sanderson Farms, Inc. (SAFM) is up almost 3%. Though since then I believe Kraft Foods Group, Inc. (KRFT) to be a better growth opportunity when specifically looking at the "Food - Major Diversified" industry.
KING_TRADER$ and others, how much exposer does Bank of America (BAC) in China? Also how much exposer does (BAC) have in other foreign markets? Does anyone have a recent reputable source such as a pie chart or article?
I take that last comment back. It seems that Bank of America (BAC) has been dragged down with the rest of the market.
I must say, Bank of America (BAC) is holding very well on this bearish day compared to others in the market.
makemoney18, if I were trading earnings I would buy Lear Corp. (LEA). I just bought some on my paper account, we will see! I think they will surprise!
makemoney18, I don't know how Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) or Apple, Inc. (AAPL) earnings will be. Though I'm willing to bet that Google Inc. (GOOG) will slide steeply after hours. I'm not playing any of these earnings.
